My favorite restaurant in LA. I have been four times and was impressed every time. The owners are so kind and take real pride in their presentation. It is a fixed menu. You can choose a smaller or a larger menu, but you don’t make a lot of choices. That’s a good thing in this circumstance. Everything on the menu is amazing, unique, and delicious.

Napoleon and Josephine is a charming little Corsican restaurant that serves French and Italian food. The house wines were good as was the antipasti starter course consisting of 10+ mini plates. The entrees were pretty good, but perhaps I was full from so many starters. If I could describe the vibe, it would be shabby chic with a little creepy antique flair. The porcelain dolls by the bathroom and the pictures inside gave me goosebumps. P. S. I recommend sitting away from the windows before sunset as the light shines directly in.

This place is sooooooo adorable! I was sad they they would not sit us on the patio as requested. I guess they closed it because no enough people in the restaurant on a Sunday night to open a different section. The option is either a three course dinner or a two course dinner Me and the BF shared one three course and one two course but honestly we could have just shared one three course! It was soooo much food The antipasta was about 8 little plates served with bread they were amazing the best the ratatouille the cheese spread and the potato salad Entrée I got the risotto … Perfectly cooked and creamy The BF got the steak and fries

I’m not usually a huge French foodie but we found this place via Living Social(Paid $ 25 for a $ 40 voucher). I was hoping to take advantage of the Unilocal check-in deal as well but our waiter said we could only use 1 voucher per table. I read prior Unilocal reviews and some parties got to use both??? That was a little upsetting since the Unilocal check-in gets you a free glass of wine! We went for a weeknight dinner and the restaurant was moderately filled. The water glasses had a bunch of lint on them… silverware was not the cleanest. The interior has a nice décor; it’s very antique and I feel like they do a nice job of making it look«classic.» There aren’t huge tables so I wouldn’t advise going here with a large group… seems like a date spot to me. The menu is basically a pre-fixe with 2 or 3 courses($ 28 or $ 35 depending on if you want the antipasti starters or not). I would recommend getting the appetizer for $ 7 more because you get to try a BUNCH of different things. Of all of the little dishes that come out, my favorites are the plate of prosciutto, salami, etc., veloute soup, and the zucchini hummus. There are around 15 different items which is plenty for 2 people to share. I’m sure you’ll find something that you’ll like. The soup was so rich in flavor and the zucchini cream was to DIEFOR. I could eat that all day with the bread that they provided! For the entrée, I opted for the roasted branzino fillet which was delicious! I loved the white wine sauce that was poured over the fish. The skin was crispy and the meat melted in your mouth! I would definitely recommend getting it, although there’s a $ 6 – 7 premium if you order the branzino. For dessert, you have a host of options and I chose the strawberry ice cream. It tasted more like a sorbet and had a really tangy flavor. If you’re into that, you’ll love the ice cream here. This place is pretty good! I’d definitely recommend.

I’ve been finding French Food restaurants remarkable in their abilities to make food both delicious and beautiful. This restaurant nailed it with a combination that can not be beat. First, right out the door, I got 1000 Opentable points, during primetime dining on Melrose. Second, a Living Social 50% off of $ 40 purchase really helped with dining costs, and lastly, my wife received a free glass of wine through the Unilocal application. Being near the Paramount and Raleigh Studios, I’m sure they get a lot of actors and actresses coming to this restaurant. There is both indoor and patio seating, with the outside preferred by us on this warm evening. The antipasti, as shared by others is a meal in itself. its inclusion of french dips, fine meats, sandwich toppings and finger foods makes this both fun and romantic; did I mention my wife had some wine too? A perfect combination of foods that would certainly complement any Parisian picnic. The entrees were equally delicious; we chose the lamb and veal dishes, which melt in your mouth. The portions are large, compared to other French foods I’ve had, and were well displayed, as French cuisine requires. Finally, for dessert, we had both of the available lemon desserts of lemon cake and marscopone(sp). Since I boutght two Living Social deals, I will certainly be back for a second round of deliciousness in West Hollywood and look forward to the wonderful offerings this restaurant has.

Great little French place up the corner on melrose Ave. We did the $ 35 for the antipast, entrée, and dessert. 3 stars for the starters because there were some things I didn’t want to try. Only liked the bread, goat cheese, and meats. Risotto entrée was excellent! The lemon dessert was tasty. We went early to get 1000 open table points and we had the restaurant to ourselves. People weren’t showing up till we were leaving around 7:45 pm. Quick and friendly server named Cedrick! Check in on Unilocal for a free glass on wine with this purchase.

Looking for French cuisine and French natives. They’re definitely at this restaurant. Husband and I came here with a couple of friends. I made a reservation through OpenTable for Friday evening 7:30PM. It was super packed and people waiting for a table that didn’t make a reservation. I’m glad I made one. Our table was ready for us when we got there. I had my husband went in first to check in. There is a valet, but it’s just one guy. The parking situation is a little nuts, I think it took like 25 minutes! There were 3 cars ahead of us and our friends were 2 – 3 cars after us. Come early so you won’t be late for your reservation! This is quiet a small place. It reminds me of Paris, because all their restaurants are like this over there. Even the waiter’s attitude is 100% French! He came by a few times to check on us and had a small chat. It’s rare to find places like this in California. My husband is from Paris. He spoke French with the guys that worked there. I was happy there is a place he can actually speak his native language. =) The server suggested us to do the prix fixe menu. We did the $ 35 per person, this comes with antipasti, entrée, and dessert. This came with a lot of food for 4 people. I love the antipasti the best. I remember doing dinner at husband’s friends and family home and we ate like this. Overall everything was fresh and tasty. All the condiments they served us here, are what they used in France. My one friend never had French food before, and she loved it. Our other friends loved it too! I would love to come back here again!

4.5 stars! Paid $ 25 for a $ 40 Groupon for dinner at Napoleon and Josephine. I’ve always loved French food, so I was super excited. Specifically, Napoleon and Josephine serves Corsican food, and it was my first time trying this cuisine. Located on the busy Melrose Ave, I was thankful to have come on a Thursday night(made reservations at 6pm), so finding metered street parking wasn’t too difficult. They also have valet as an option. Walking into the restaurant you’re teleported to a completely different world. The décor is so cozy and charming, I loved the hat-styled lamp shades hanging over each table. There are endless portraits and trinkets for you to gawk and admire. I’ve noticed that many French restaurants bring you a large chalkboard for menu rather than the traditional small paper on table style. Our waiter brought us the chalkboard — there are 2 options, either $ 28 pp prix fixe for entrée + dessert, or $ 35 pp prix fixe menu for antipasti + entrée + dessert. We chose the latter, seeing as how so many reviews emphasize that the antipasti is the best part. SO glad we did, because it really is the best part of the meal. [[ANTIPASTI]] — 5⁄5 stars Our waiter brought out an assortment of small dishes(we received 13 small dishes along with a basket of bread) that were so beautifully displayed. The taste did not disappoint, every dish was so well thought-out and perfectly executed. Reminds me of Korean banchan(side dishes) but French-style. We were stuffed just from the antipasti… [[ENTREES]] — Corsican Style Veal Stew served with homemade Tagliatelle pasta(4⁄5 stars): Yum! The dish was great — beef slow cooked well so it’s very tender. The pasta quality was al dente and delicious. The cheese shavings on top of the pasta was out of this world — I usually opt out of cheese on my pasta b/c I feel like most restaurants use very mediocre cheese and taints the entire pasta dish. Here, the cheese actually added value to the entrée, what a pleasant surprise. The olives they used were equally delicious. — Beef Tagliata; juicy sliced hangar steak, rosemary, garlic french fries, dijon mustard [+ $ 4 additional](3.5÷5 stars): Pretty good. Boyfriend ordered this so I only had a few bites. The meat was pretty tasty being that it’s lower-end quality ‘hangar steak’, and I liked the flavoring they used. They also managed to cook it perfectly at «medium-rare», where many restaurants tend to overcook. Pink on the inside but not bloody. [[WINE]] Wine selection was very big. Check in on Unilocal for a free wine with $ 35 prix fixe meal! We got one of the Corsican specials and it was really good. [[DESSERTS]] — Chestnut creamy flan(4⁄5 stars): Yummy! So creamy, so smooth. Sweet and had a real depth of flavor. Recommend! — Fladone; Corsican lemon ricotta cake, fresh strawberry coulis(3⁄5 stars): Tastes a little bit like cheesecake — but less creamy. The fresh strawberry coulis(thick sauce made from pureed strawberries) was quite good; very real strawberry flavor. Hits the spot! [[OVERALL]] I would love to come back to Napoleon & Josephine soon. At $ 35 per person, you can’t beat the quality vs price ratio — really getting bang for your buck. Food is very memorable, and the interior décor is just as memorable. The service was impeccable, our waiter was so friendly and helpful. We had almost the entire restaurant to ourselves which was nice. Napoleon & Josephine is a solid choice for French cuisine in LA :)

Went with the Living Social deal for $ 25 towards brunch… believe I paid around $ 12 for the deal. I don’t even know if they still offer brunch as their website doesn’t seem to indicate that. But it’s not a great website and I couldn’t find a brunch menu to peruse even right before we went for brunch so… best to call. The place is Frenchie-cute and staff is friendly. There aren’t a lot of brunch options but you’ll find something you like. I chose Plate #1, which includes a fried egg, bacon chips, toasted French baguette sticks, 2 kinds of cheese, pork sausage, French ham, home fries and a fruit plate. It’s $ 16 and they bring everything out in tiny little plates or bowls. It’s a lot. And you get all excited about the veritable buffet laid out in front of you. But here’s the thing… none of it was very good. It was all just sort of… meh. Absolutely nothing stood out and I just sort of nibbled a little at everything but didn’t really finish anything. My friend got the Croque Madame with a salad($ 14). That was pretty good. It’s a safe bet if you find yourself here. They weren’t familiar with the phrase«bottomless» when it comes to Mimosa’s(little bit of a language barrier) so that was a downer. But they do make Mimosa’s. They’re $ 8 each so that will add up quickly if you’re doing the obligatory WeHo drinking brunch thing. This wasn’t an unpleasant meal. But I just didn’t see any reason to come back, especially not for brunch. There are many better brunch options in the neighborhood — right down the street even. I might give it a try for dinner, although from their confusing website menu, it appears you can only do Pre Fixe which I don’t usually enjoy. Shouldn’t be this difficult to have a nice dinner or brunch.

Made a reservation days in advance for party of 7 at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Arrived exactly on time and they didn’t have a table for us. The place is small, and was crowded on Saturday night. They tried to put us on a 4-top, which I obviously told them wasn’t happening. «Well, we can seat four of you and then when another table becomes available we can seat the rest of the party.» The server actually said that to me. Then they asked us to wait while another party of seven was ordering dessert, saying they would be done shortly. Wait for a party to order dessert, then eat it, and then leave? That can take 30 – 60 mins! They also had an almost-full bottle of wine on their table. That means they ain’t leavin’ anytime soon. You’re going to keep 7 people waiting for up to an hour? With a reservation?! The server blamed the manager, saying they often overbook. I said that we should then speak to the manager. She said the manager left for the night because he fell down the stairs. You read that right. Quickly called around and found a table at Smoke, Oil, Salt a block away and had a wonderful time. Too bad… heard the food here was pretty good… now won’t be able to find out. Shame on you N&J. ” you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to *hold* the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation: the holding.” — Seinfeld

Napoleon and Josephine has the most adorable interior with hats like lamp shades and tons of old artifacts that would make any collector grin from ear to ear. The ambiance is nothing but charming and will have you want to take photograph of every crevice if possible. Instead of a menu, the waiter brings you a big board and explain to each guest what is offered in their romantic french accent. It is a course preference dinner — so Its def good to come in a group to try different things together — $ 28/$ 35 gets you a three course meal. I love their Anti pasta! An adorable array of spread with side of bread will have you licking the plate clean. Our entrees are beautifully presented and though the vegetarian option might not be as vibrant they def. do their best to accompany you and make you happy. Our dessert — I highly recommend the lemon zest, the penne cotta and the cheese cake. The chocolate molten cake was a fail and I don’t think its worth a gander. Major fail since i absolutely love chocolate.

I don’t think I have been this delighted by a meal and restaurant in quite some time! Entirely charming, entirely delicious, and entirely undercharging for all the wonderful stuff you get. This place was quite the find! It just puts a huge smile on your face. You can really tell that Chef/Owner Olam puts her heart and soul into this lovely little joint. For a mere $ 35 per person, you get an amazing Corsican meal that begins with some delectable antipasti including a charcuterie board and some wonderful sides: potato salad, tapenade, lentils and bacon, never-ending soft baguettes, etc. Then came our main dishes. The hubster opted for the duck with orange sauce which was absolutely sublime. And although I loved my tender lamb stew on polenta, his was the winner of the night. Our desserts were great as well with my ricotta cake being the standout. The hubby’s lemon concoction was quite stellar as well. And their wine list was completely reasonable with lovely French Bordeaux and Burgundy starting at $ 40 per bottle. Our French waitress checked on us quite often and really hustled on her feet, while Olam stopped by every table. And the dining room was pleasantly-decorated with tchotchkes and French posters. I especially loved the gorgeous China and salt and pepper shakers. This place is too much goodness. We had a simply marvelous time. We love Napoleon and Josephine, a warm inviting café that truly puts the«customer» in «customer service.» We’re already scheming to come back, but only to bring people who will appreciate this gem as much as we do. No haters please! This place is only for lovers.

Tucked within the everyday craziness of Melrose, Napolean and Josephine is a cozy French restaurant with personality and wonderful food. The décor has a feel of dining in the bohemian Monmarte in Paris. It is a grey line between dining in a restaurant and an Friend’s apartment with a predilection for antique nick-nacks. The second you sit down, you feel like you are at invited to someone’s home for dinner. You can tell too that that this is the typical Melrose crowd does come here. The people who were eating there on a Saturday night were families, couples, and groups of friends in the 30 – 60 year old range. Everyone was enjoying their food and each others companies. No one was chatting on their phones, no one was taking poutty-faced selfies, or and no one was playing with their Facebook accounts. Even the people who brought there child did not plop him in front of a ipad. Instead, they gave him a real action figure to play with if he chose. The people who come here do so to to enjoy food and each others company like the we all once did in a pre-cell phone world. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They did a great job helping you select dishes and make sure everything is great with the dinner. They do a three course pre-fix menu selection process and everything I tried from that was very good and the wine was delicious. We were never short of food, water, or bread throughout the meal and left feeling extremely satisfied for about $ 50 per person. I will definitely be coming back!

N&J deserves 3.5 stars — 4 for the antipasti similar to Korean banchan, 4 for the dessert, 3 for the entrees themselves and 3 for the overall value of the meal. The place was quite charming and the wait staff and host were wonderfully pleasant. The antipasti to our surprise was a compilation of snacks ranging from a charcuterie board to homemade goat cheese(by far the best ones) to red cabbage slaw, olives, and deviled eggs. These were spectacular, more because of the variety and options than each individual taste. For entrée, I got the lamb polenta stew. It smelled like heaven, but the flavors were a bit underwhelming. The lamb was gamey and tougher than I would’ve liked and the polenta served more as a filler than a great addition to the dish. Plus, I expected it to be more of a stew, which it wasn’t. My boo got the ricotta ravioli which was piping hot and had a great mixture of cheese and spinach– this dish was significantly better than mine. It does seem that the menu changes quite often, so perhaps my luck was off. As for dessert, the white chocolate mousse was stellar. I could eat pounds of that stuff. The ricotta cake was a bit dry and honestly nothing special. Normally, I’d say a three course meal for $ 28 pp is great, but overall, the value of the meal fell, as the flavors felt like they needed a bit more maturity.

Voila!!! I have finally found the rare French restaurant in Los Angeles that has a real French feel. Napoleon & first wife Josephine de Beauharnais are the theme of this charming restaurant which in many ways harks back to the Fin de Dix-neuvieme Siecle. The décor is a mélange of things French, but it also tries to evoke a bit of the ‘Empire’ style of the early 19th century during the time of Napoleon. Napoleon & Josephine reminds me of dining at L’Auberge de la Reine Blanche on Ile Saint Louis, Paris. My waitress from Toulouse w/French accented English & contemporary French music made me feel that I was in a small informal restaurant somewhere in France. It could be used as one of the sets for the opera, La Boheme. Napoleone Buonaparte better known as Emperor Napoleon I was born on the island of Corsica/Corse the year after the city-state of Genova, Italy sold the island in perpetuity to France. His father & mother, Carlo & Letizia Buonaparte who could trace ancestry from minor Tuscan nobility, ingratiated themselves into favour w/Comte de Marbeuf, Corsica’s French military governor, so that Napoleon was able to go to military academies in France. Later, he initially allied himself to Pasquale Paoli, a Corsican patriot who was opposed to the French occupation, but later opposed Paoli so that the Buonaparte family fled to France where they Francofied their last name to Bonaparte. Ever the pragmatist & opportunistic during the chaotic period of the French Revolution along w/his astute political & personal magnetism, Napoleon’s star rode ever higher only to have it fall after unwise invasions especially of Russia when the bitter winter decimated his troops from 600,000 to about 10,000 able bodied troops. In most of history, a nation spreading itself too thin in terms of cost, resources, men, & loss of morale by numerous military invasions usually signals the decline of the country. Hopefully, the U.S. is not in such a dire situation yet. I.) The antipasti are epic. Be ready for 13 small dishes w/warm crusty on the outside & creamy on the inside French bread. * means extra good 1) Tapenade of cured, salty black olives 2) *Sweet brilliant Red Bell Pepper simmered in its own juices w/bit of garlic 3) Raw crunchy carrots marinated in herb light vinegar 4) *Whipped slightly gamy Chevre/goat cheese 5) Whipped creamy French cheese w/shaved slice of Zucchini 6) Blanched Broccoli w/nuts 7) Potato Salad in oil, vinegar 8) Red Beet Slice w/crumbled cheese halved green grape 9) Eggplant«Caviar» w/Pignoli/pine nuts 10) *Red Onion & Shallot cooked w/sweet apple cider vinegar 11) *Charcuterie/Salumi of Prosciutto, Magret de Canard Fume/smoked duck breast, Mortadella, triple cream cheese, two slices of Italian Salame, Cornichon/pickle, cured Kalamata olives 12) *Veloute soup: pureed 13) **Savory Purée of cooked tomato, crushed almonds, earthy rosemary, acidic capers II.) Agnello/lamb a l’Istretta is Corsican lamb ragout which is probably simmered in a bit of red wine, garlic, tomato, meat stock. The meat is thankfully«gamy» so that you know you are tasting lamb. It is piled high on top of a timbale of creamy polenta/low cylinder of corn meal porridge. The savory, meaty flavoured cooking sauce surrounds the«tower of lamb» topped w/a yellow edible pansy & the polenta making it look like an Ile Flottante. Thoughtfully, there are leaves of fresh rosemary, basil, fennel, sage so that you can add cuts of these flavourful herbs to be eaten w/the lamb to vary the flavours in a very natural, healthful, elegant manner. I.-II.a) My well informed waitress suggested Valpolicella Allegrini from Verona, Lombardia, Italia which has smooth tannins & mild acid w/a black fruit tones such as black berry, dark cherry and paired well w/all of the above. III.) Fladone is a Corsican style cheese cake & is light, yet creamy unlike many torta al formaggio/Italian cheese cake which tends to be heavier. Fladone reminds me of a cross between a just baked Clafoutis & cheese cake w/bits of raspberry fruit baked in. A strawberry coulis sauce adds a fruity sweet acidity. Best cheese cake since I usually can’t stand the heavy, gummy American style. Rivesaltes Ambre may have been a good pairing but they don’t have dessert wines as yet so I got an Espresso w/its rich coffee bitterness which worked quite well. After dinner, I got visited by the French/English bilingual 6 year old son of the owners who is very intelligent & winsomely personable. He came to tell me a story drawing a picture for me to accompany the tale which I will post on Unilocal. After hearing his imaginative story, he came back to give me a petit gâteau, a thin almond cookie made by his mom. He made my experience at N&J the total French experience. Merci beaucoup pour la unique experience Francaise. Amazing French 3 course meal for only $ 35.

Very cute, intimate dining experience. You get a 3-course meal — antipasti, entrée, and dessert — for $ 35. Highly recommend getting the antipasti(which is optional) — it was my favorite part of the meal. Lots of small plates to share, reminded me of Korean banchan haha. I had squid ink pasta for my entrée and it was delicious. The portion sizes were quite generous too. Dessert was tasty, although since I’m not much of a dessert person, I’d love to have the option of just getting antipasti + entrée. The restaurant is small so I recommend reservations. The price point is reasonable for the food, although it can get pricey if you factor in drinks. My only complaint is the service is rather slow, so make sure you give yourself enough time to dine leisurely. Overall, I had a very good dining experience here and would definitely come back!

Yeah yeah yeah I know the story of Napoleon and Josephine(N&J) she lied, cheated, harassed and made him generally miserable but enough about my ex wife… Sorry couldn’t resist. Big fan of the restaurant though. Upon arriving your transformed and welcomed into a wonderful place that is comfortable, homey, inviting yet alluring and romantic. The staff and vibe at N&J is fantastic truly special it’s as if your dining with the most amazing family that you just met while on vacation in Paris who invited you into there home for a magical authentic Corsican meal and memorable experience that transforms you… I need to preface the 5 stars as follows; The food isn’t refined fine dining or mind numbing but it is very good. The overall experience, vibe, feel of the night is indeed memorable and you can’t help but be immersed and crush on N&J big time. It exudes sex appeal, it’s alluring and inviting it takes over and transforms you. N&J is the incredible woman you just met that takes your breath away the chemistry is insatiable and you lose yourself in her and end up in Santa Barbara at Bacara for a weekend smörgåsbord of debauchery. Sorry I digress! Unfortunately that review will be starring in the Playboy forum not Unilocal lol Ok after a quick cigarette break(I don’t even smoke) cold shower, meditation and even watching old reruns of the Golden Girls to stifle the sensation and memory of Bacara I’m finally back to N&J. The menu is essentially Prix Fixe with(2) options 1) $ 35 Antipasti + entrée + dessert or 2) $ 28 entrée + dessert. Ok cut to the chase it’s always option 1) period end of story. The antipasti is the bomb and includes like(157) small plates and tasters more like(17) but still OMG a ridiculous amount of food that fills up the table. It’s almost like a candid camera prank or episode of Punk’d because your literally stunned by the display and array of food they put out for your gastronomic delight… I had the steak with a burgundy wine sauce and of course frites very good, my dining companion the spinach gnocchi in a light tomato cream sauce also really good. Desserts were all good and homemade with the Ricotta cheesecake and strawberry coulis being the star. Nice wine list and pairings available in both bottle and by the glass. N&J is a great experience and wonderful place to enjoy and should be on your list of to do’s around town. It will transform you also very romantic take your partner, boyfriend/girlfriend, spouse or if the mood strikes you all of the above and make a night of it at N&J.

One of the cutest restaurants I’ve been to in LA. It’s on Melrose so it’s a bit of a hectic street to stop on — there’s a valet that’s very busy but they don’t have a lot of space so I had to hold up traffic a bit as I waited for the valet to run back to the waiting car and drive that away. With that being said, the valet guys were great and worked diligently. There was one server when we arrived for our dinner at 8; by 9 another server had appeared. The place was kind of empty when I arrived but all of the tables were full by 9 and 10. It’s an affordable prix fixe menu and if you check in on Unilocal and get the $ 35 option, you get a free glass of wine! The $ 35 option consists of antipasti, an entrée and a dessert and the $ 28 option consists of an entrée and a dessert(you have options for the entrée and dessert). I was there with a friend and a third person was supposed to join us. She was running late and ended up not being able to make it. We were not rushed at any point in the night. Despite the fact that the place is lightly staffed, they were very responsive once we did indicate that we were ready to order and the food came out in a timely manner. The antipasti array is adorable — tiny dishes of tons of delicious homemade flavors that are surprisingly filling. The entrees are hearty and delicious(so watch out to not eat too many antipasti!). My friend had the boeuf bourguignon and I had the duck. Both were deilcious and perfect for the cold winter night. You have about five or six options for dessert and my friend and I got the fladone(Corsican cheesecake) and the lemon cream. Both were light and delicious. This place is really a hidden gem along Melrose. It’s small, cozy atmosphere reminded me of the little restaurants I visited in Paris and Madrid and the food matches the ambiance. Definitely recommend. Very cute date spot as well.

3.5 stars This is a quaint Corsican restaurant with friendly service. The design is meant to make you feel like you are at a Parisian bistro, but for me there was too much kitsch and it felt cluttered. I also thought about how much dust everything must be collecting. The concept is simple. They only serve 2 or 3 course prix fixe dinners. 2 courses is $ 28 for entrée and dessert. 3 courses is $ 35 and also includes the antipasti course. The antipasti course is pretty spectacular. It consists of 10 – 12 separate items to sample, from olive tampanade to soup to tuna salad. It was quite a nice spread and really enough for 2 to share, if one in your party did not want 3 courses per se. The entrees and dessert were fine, but nothing memorable. The beef bourguignon with housemade pasta was served on the cool side, as if it had been sitting too long. The pasta was al dente but the noodle stuck together and hardly had any sauce on them. The beef was like any beef that had been slow cooked. The salmon entrée was tasty and the fish was cooked nicely, but it wasn’t anything unique and different that I couldn’t have ordered from many other restaurants that serve salmon. For dessert, the pot de crème was rich and chocolaty, but it was too sweet. The ricotta cake was sort of like cheesecake, but it was a bit dry and very grainy. Upon finishing and waiting to get the check, it took about ½ hour for the server to recognize that we were finished and to finally give us our credit card back. parking — metered, valet, or limited free street parking

Love this little French Bistro on Melrose. The restaurant has a classic and old European design to it. As one writer put it, there is a very charming and cozy feel to it. The best part about it is that there Prix Fixe menu is so inexpensive. For $ 35 you get: Antipasto Main Course and Dessert . If you aren’t up for it the Antipasto you can get the Main Course + Dessert for $ 28. You have several items to choose from in the main course but i’m sure it changes from time to time. Love the Antipasto because they bring out cold cuts as well as so many little dishes. I had the Beef Tagliata(+$ 4 supplemental). I ordered it Medium but it was cooked more on the medium rare side but it didn’t matter because I like my steaks medium rare anyways. It was served on a bed of potatoes which were super crispy. Yum. Dessert: Panna Cota — Light like a yogurt but nothing special. Overall for $ 35 I can’t complain about my meal. The beef was tender but could has used a little sauce to it.
