Beautiful décor but ALL the bartenders suck balls. After experiencing service so crappy i had no desire to sit and eat. Snooty tools save the attitude for bartending at Drais or some hollywood douche club.

Favorite place Indian food and ambiance!!! Too bad it’s closed… We showed up and found it has been closed since valentines day. However, we found the chef is now at Sirtaj in Beverly Hills, so we started dining there and the food is AMAZING!

Came here on a Groupon deal just like many others. We made reservations for Saturday at 6:30, although we didn’t need them when we got there, it was not crowded at all. You can park on the side streets with a meter or valet in front, its a crowded neighborhood. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous just like many have said. Dim lighting to create a mood, nice music, huge curtains draped over every surface. Each booth is on its own separated by large curtains, really dramatic. Service– Waiter was good. He knew the menu, sold us on certain items, prompt when asked for things. The food was a tad slow, but we didn’t want to rush the night so that was OK. Drinks– I had the Rocky Patel. Good, strong, missing the espresso beans it said should be inside the drink though. Appetizer– We did the sampler platter that the server recommended. There was chicken, shrimp, potato salad, tempura style broccoli and a pastry spinach thing. Everything was good, very ethnic flavors, loved it. Food– I had the Filet Mignon Curry and my wife had the Butter Chicken. Both were great. Filet Mignon was almost like pot roast, very soft. Mashed potatoes with it were good. Sauce was good. The Butter Chicken had a sauce similar to vodka pasta sauce, good as well. We had the garlic naan also(it has cilantro just FYI, I hate cilantro so be sure to ask for them to leave it off it you don’t like it) We passed on dessert as we were stuffed. The bill was $ 100, minus our Groupon deal, we paid $ 60. Yes, it was a little expensive. Great experience though. A place like this would do very well in Vegas, in a large hotel. It has a very swank feel. I recommend trying Naya out!

Man, people are mean on Unilocal.Duh, I know, of course. Listen, I’m 52; I’m not naïve and I’m not anybody’s fanboy, but this restaurant was excellent. Yes, they were out of one dish the night we were there(the sea bass). Too bad, my wife wanted it, and I considered taking a star away for that, but the bottom line is that, aside from that one thing we did not experience, everything we actually did experience here was excellent. And, to be clear, scallops were on, filet(the most expensive item) was on, shrimp was on, two versions of lamb were on, etc. There was no pressure whatever to order cheap because we were using a Groupon. I’m sorry for others’ experience, but ours was first rate. We walk into this wonderful, high-ceilinged space hung with fabric(it used to be a bank). Moorish lounge the the left, elegant dining room to the right. We’re seated at our own booth in the linen-hung, ethereal, white, quiet hall. No problem we have an eight year old in tow: our waitress grew up with«The Little Mermaid»(which our daughter has just performed). Sorry, I’ll get on to the food. Vegetable curry soup: light and clean. Light and flavorful samosas in(I believe) spring roll wraps. Nice and with excellent dipping sauces. Oh and our naan arrived immediately, without our asking. Lamp kebabs with garlic mashed potatoes. This one our daughter enjoyed a lot. Great garlic flavor. Butter chicken was vibrant, not heavy. Scallops were pristine and perfectly cooked. Yes, we had a Groupon, so it all was cheap, but $ 18 on the menu is a truly great deal for seafood of this caliber. And we loved the black rice. Toothsome, like wild rice. Dessert was fine, but I would have kept to rose flavored rice pudding and left out the strawberry. A gift of ice cream on the side as a bonus for the girl. We talked to Keith, the manager, saw the lounge and the patio. He was welcoming without being supercilious. And, as I said, our waitress was genuine and seemed happy to be there. Yes, the place was not full. They are relatively new and are using Groupons to bring people in. It worked for us, and our waitress mentioned the Wednesday date night with the excellent butter chicken and(I think) appetizers and(definitely) cocktails for two for something like $ 40. That sounds lovely. We’re going back.

Went on a recent trip to CA. Price: Bought a Living Social deal for $ 30 for a Pre-Fixe 3 Course Dinner for two. Food: Great! Their assorted Samosas are just amazing! It’s great Indian food. No complaints at all!!! Drink: Didn’t drink at dinner. Location: Not bad at all. I am a NY’er so going to all of these CA places that have valet just blow my mind. BUT you need to valet your car here; it’s on a busy road. Ambiance: Really cute! The place is a lounge in the front and a restaurant in the back. There are pretty fire pits in their backyard area. It’s romantic. Staff: Wonderful! Go share some samosas with your honey. It’s super cute!

I really really wanted to like this place… I also LOVE Indian food. And it’s so hard to pin point what this place is lacking but it’s lacking something that’s for sure. But here’s a cap on my experience here. We had dinner reservations for two on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. We showed up on time, and when I walked in, I was very impressed! This place is just STUNNING!!! They really went all out and has a high class feel to it. It’s just beautiful. When you walk in, to the left seems to be the bar/lounge where they have a DJ and I can assume gets«popping» later? And to the right looked like the dinning area. We waited a minute or two before we were greeted by who I assume is the manager? The girl at the front was busy on the phone, which I could tell is a customer, which is totally okay with me, I was admiring the décor. But the manager was very friendly and charismatic(without being annoying). He showed us the dinning area and was so beautiful(Again) and soft. He asked us if we would like to be seated here or in the patio? It was raining that night, and he told us we wouldn’t get wet if we wanted to and just asked if we would like to see it before we made a decision. He was very helpful and gave us a mini tour. The patio was really cute and romantic with the three fireplaces and candles lit on every table. We decided on the patio, seemed more intimate. Our server came and greeted us and he was also very friendly(seemed a bit much and practiced) but he was awesome none the less. To begin our meal we ordered two starters. We got their spinach rolls($ 7) and the chicken kebabs with cheese($ 8). Our entrees we ordered Filet Mignon curry($ 20.95) and Lemon Chilli Scallops($ 18). We ordered Garlic Naan($ 3.50). And for dessert we ordered to share their Cardamom Infused Rice Pudding($ 6). Before our appetizers came out, they sent us out a soup to start off with which I believed is called«Sunset Soup». It was very good, all vegetarian and had a curry flavor. Yummy! The appetizers were both good. The Spinach rolls had a tomato sauce on top, were small bite size and only came out with three. The chicken Kebabs totally three me off. the presentation was at all what I was expecting, and looked like some sort of crazy sushi roll? HA! It was good, but it didn’t taste Indian and I didn’t see or taste any cheese? The Entrees were also good. The Scallops were good, as scallops usually are, They came out with four scallops, and NAYA black rice. Rice was bleh. Now for the curry… Now yes, it was good over all, but not what I think I ordered? And here’s why… It came out and I saw three small pieces of «filet mignon» which is how I thought it would be, because a filet mignon steak alone would cost another $ 20. Now when I put my fork into it, it was shredded? What? I’ve had my fair share of Filet Mignon and never has it shredded like this… It looked and tasted as if though it was pot roast… I could be wrong but I want to say that it wasn’t filet mignon. I mean I know you have to fake it to make it in LA, but shit man… don’t play or fake my food! I don’t forget things like that. I should have asked, but I honestly didn’t want to start trouble so I ate it. Another thing that threw me off is that it was on top on mashed potatoes. not rice like curry usually is served with. The curry too I wasn’t impressed with and it was a bit salty. The Cardamon infused rice pudding was yummy! Probably the best thing we ate here, and it came with pureed mango on top! It came with a scoop of strawberry ice cream though. weird pairing but it was good and we were still hungry and finished it all! The Garlic Naan, was good, but small piece. EVERYTHINGISSMALLHERE! LOLWHERE’S MYFOOD! LOL! I mean I see big prices but small portions. This might as well be a tapas restaurant because this wasn’t traditional and lacked Indian flavors! I think that’s the biggest problem here… Is I came here expecting Indian food and I didn’t get any. This place is cute for a date and for people who don’t know any better. Was the worst experience I’ve had food wise with Indian food. I honestly can say I’ll never come back here. Yes the food was overall good, service was good, and the décor was nice. But it lacks the Indian flavor and prices are too high for Indian food and the TINY portions. I honestly left this place still hungry! HAHAHA!!! That has NEVEREVER happened to me. We ended up going to The Cheesecake Factory right after to get TWO slices of cheesecake! Hey don’t judge us! We eat like we mean it and Naya, you deprived us of that! I’m sorry to say that I wanted to like you, but I won’t ever done here again. When I want Indian food, I can go to an authentic restaurant and dine for $ 25. You made me sad.

1 star for a disappointing experience, maybe 3 stars for quality of food. Came with a friend using a Groupon(I think most people do, as overheard from other tables) which included 1 appetizer, 2 soups, 2 entrees and 1 dessert. Appetizer: Shrimp; 3 pieces with a few mixed greens, tasted good. Lentil soup: in a trendy bowl, tasted good(nothing extraordinary). When it was time to order the entrée, we were informed that all the best items on the menu weren’t available because the train that the food was on broke down. Items included: sea bass, scallop, filet mignon curry and mango chicken curry. Overheard the people at the table over ask, «So what DO you have?» Naturally, we were hoping to go for the dishes of most value with this Groupon, but settled with getting the following: Shrimp masala curry: 4 pieces of shrimp in the curry with rice; sauce had an incredibly strong alcohol flavor(the waiter said that’s how it’s supposed to be; guess I didn’t read the ingredients carefully!) Butter chicken curry: looked good We asked if we could receive a complimentary dish or appetizer for the lack of menu options we were looking forward to order, but the waitress said the manager wasn’t in and the chefs wouldn’t allow it. Asked if we could have some complimentary naan chips(as we saw on the Unilocal page), but they said they aren’t serving it today. But eventually the chefs baked a batch for us, and they were delicious! Probably the best part of the meal! Dessert: Faloodah; yummy! Overall, the food was good for the value of the groupon, décor was very intricate(cloth draped all over), the waitress was extremely friendly, but how the chefs handled the minimal menu choices was disappointing. Didn’t seem as if they cared too much about customers’ satisfaction. This was probably just a one time experience for me.

I’m currently on a diner dash; I bought so many Groupons earlier in the year and a lot of them are coming up on their expiration date within the next few weeks. So look forward to a lot of new reviews as I rush to redeem/justify my spendin’ habits on Groupon This is a really beautiful venue. The dining area, lounge and patio were all beautiful and inviting. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. I see what they’re going for with this place(refined, although a lil’ pretentious, indian food) and I enjoy it. The flavors do come through but they are much more reserved than your typical indian fare. But, WOW, the plates are gorgeous. So the standouts of the night were: the sunset soup — nice, light, flavorful coconut curry shrimp/w/black rice — really nice flavor, best dish the loser of the night was: grilled shrimp app — pomegranate chutney was way too sweet, and shrimp were undercooked but there is a good spice rub on the shrimp Overall, I enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was pretty good. Next time I’ll definitely try the lounge or the patio area.

I actually really wish Naya was better. The staff was very nice, and the décor is beautiful. It is just that the prices are way to high, and the food portions are way to small. There is nothing special about the food, and nothing memorable. It was all mediocre. When we walked in, the first thing we were asked were«Do you have a Groupon?» It’s always a bad sign when a place is very empty on a Saturday night, and the only reason people are eating there is because of coupons. That should tell the owners that the prices need to be lowered, or the food be improved. Great location, and I hope the company can find it’s footing. The potential is there, just not the execution.

We got here on a Saturday night and luckily we were able to find street parking on the side. The valet parking sign in front of the restaurant is a little hard to find as its literally on a busy street and you kind of have to stop midway to get valet. We told them it was our first time here and we were given a tour of the restaurant. There was an indoor dining room where everything was white from the tableclothes, linens, drapes and the décor. There is also a little lounge/club/bar area in the next area where im sure if people get drunk enough they’ll start dancing on the dance floor. The architecture in the«lounge» was really contemporary and I loved it. Since the weather was perfect for outdoor seating, we decided to eat outside next to the fireplace. We ordered a lot of food, and I dont remember a particular food standing out. It was americanized-indian food and nothing home to write about, but the ambiance in itself was worth the cost. Even with the groupon deal we still ended up paying over $ 100 after 2 bottles of wine, and hookah. I think this is a great place to chill and unwind, with a bar, hookah and dj’s spinning loud dancing music. How could you not have fun with alcohol around?

The Naya Restaurant provides an Indian food experience. There are several dining rooms, a separate bar and an outside patio. The décor is _very_rich, modern and upscale, with long flowing curtains handing from the ceiling. My group ordered many small dishes, which I enjoyed. Then each of us ordered an entrée, which we shared with each other. The food was very good — although I am not enough of an expert in the many different Indian cuisines.(NOTE: there are more Indian cuisines than there are Chinese cuisines, so learning them is a fascinating journey that I’m just beginning.) The Naya service was over the top! Two and sometimes three servers were available to us during the entire evening. The servers were friendly and informed. MNore imortantly, they genuinely enjoyed helping us learn the origins of the many dishes. There were many servers because, unfortunately, the restaurant was almost empty. Our group arrived early(before the theatre), so I hope that this was the reason that there were not more diners. However, I’ve read that word of the restaurant has not been spread in the Silverlake area. I’m hopeful that Naya grows and prospers, and I look forward to returning soon to try other dishes and to learn more about Indian cuisine, becuase Naya is A-OK!

Naya, where do you think you are? WeHo? No, honey, this is Silver Lake… I came for dinner with a couple friends who had purchased a dinner-for-two Groupon. I found our waiter to be cordial and informative with me, offering many vegetarian dishes that were not on the tiny menu, but my friends found him to be a tad condescending which they attributed to their Groupon. The food was alright but nothing spectacular and overpriced to boot. The cauliflower side we ordered was so bland. The soup was quite good. Dinners were hit and miss. The inside of this restaurant /club is so out of place in this neighborhood. Way too opulent. And our fellow diners(of which there were but a few) must have been lost on the eastside or on their way to Los Globos. The whole experience was somewhat surreal for us.

This place was terrible. The food was incredibly subpar and overpriced. The portions are for people who don’t like Indian food and would prefer to eat as little of it as possible. As the Indian in the group I felt personally responsible for this atrocity of poor service, terrible food(dry burnt garlic naan– I mean come on!) and, in an effort for their forgiveness, will be taking my friends to Little India in Artesia for inexpensive amazing food. To top it off our waiter basically demanded a tip that he originally described as included in the bill. I’m happy to tip waiters who wait on you. Especially when you are the only ones in the restaurant. Not ones who are invisible and curt at best. I feel guilty about the $ 8 tip we left him because that could have bought amazing butter chicken and garlic naan at pretty much any other«Indian» restaurant. Thanks for ruining Indian food for me. And I’m Indian.

The Service was Excellent, our Server was very patient and nice. She helped us pick out stuff from the menu. The Food was Really good i highly recommend the Sunset soup, its one of the best things in the menu. We stumbled upon this place because of groupon. The price was right for me and when you check in on Unilocal you get another discount for Drinks and Hooka ! We did go on a Wednesday night so it was a bit slow and might have gotten alot more attentiveness then on a busy night but its a nice little place by the sunset junction that is worth trying out.

I really wanted to like this place, but so much went wrong. This review would 1 star if the hostess wasn’t so nice. I thought all the negative reviews on this place seemed harsh but they are accurate and truthful. Here were the biggest problems: –Our hostess said that we arrived during Happy Hour, so we ordered the $ 5 cocktails. We felt both drinks were heavily pre-mixed and syrupy and asked if some soda-water could be added. One tasted better, one didn’t. Out waitress(different from hostess) did not offer to remedy the situation after we were still unsatisfied and said«better luck ordering next time». Then at the end of the meal we received our bill and the drinks were full priced. When we brought this up our waitress again threw attitude and said«happy hour has ended». We kindly reminded her that we arrived an hour before happy hour ended — only then did she fix it. I found the situation extremely shady to tell people to order happy hour drinks, delay their food order and then charge them full price. SCAMSCAMSCAMSCAM! –The food took forever to arrive. The potatoes with the lamb skewers were watery and tasteless. The currys were a little bland, so we asked for hot sauce which took so long that our food was cold by the time we tried to fix it. The best part of the meal was the soup. Nothing felt authentic about this place.

So like other Unilocalers I fell for the Groupon that was offered for this place… I thought to myself this sounds like a great deal and I’m always down to try new places! Since their Open Reservations tab on their website was down I called in and made a reservation with someone for Monday, June 11th, sounds easy enough right? Fast forward to the next week, me and the boyfriend drive about 40 minutes to this place park, walk up to the restaurant and to my surprise the place is closed… are you serious? So just to double check I called the restaurant as we are standing in front of the place and the phone just rings and rings no voice mail or nothing! So, pissed beyond belief me and the boyfriend got back in our car and headed back to our side of town to another restaurant. So of course I called Groupon and told them what went down. They followed up with this place and they said they are closed on Mondays… WTF then how did someone at this place make a Monday night reservation for me and my boyfriend… SMH and to add to that they have no hours posted to their website, so how was I supposed to know they were closed? In the end I was refunded for the Groupon I purchased for this place and unfortunately I have no interest in coming back. Sooooo please note. THEYARECLOSEDONMONDAYS, since it’s not posted on their website…

As the acting Duke of Naya I hate to have to put this once great happy hour spot on the no fly zone but it is what it is… The happy hour used to be 3−7pm… It is now 6 – 730 pm… It’s literally like one hour… 1)First off, the hostess tries to hide the happy hour and seat us in the main dining room. ASKFORTHELOUNGE and DEMAND the happy hour menu only… 2)No service… not even a «you order from the bar» — we sat like dip shits for 20 minutes before I asked the bar tender what the dealio was… 3)Randy the mixologist… where to begin. Walking into the dining area in Naya is like walking into a dream. Everything is white. It’s really beautiful. However, the dish I chose brought me back to reality. Everest Lamb may sound exotic but it tasted just like beef stew. Ummmm… no, no, no… The rice that came with the lamb was not terribly interesting. We ordered samosas, which according to my friend were really good and out of the ordinary but they were TINY. They came with three very delicious chutneys. I had a mango yogurt drink. It was good but didn’t taste like it had yogurt in it. It tasted like a simple mango milkshake. The waiter was very attentive and came around often. I felt he did a good job but my friend felt he was too pushy when he tried to get us to purchase the fixed price meals they were offering that day. They were about $ 30 each. I did notice he tried a bit too hard to convince us to get those meals but I recognize that in this type of restaurant they are told they must try to sell as much as possible. The portions here are small. This is not a complaint. It’s just a fact. If you are going to serve small portions, well, you better be sure that there is a lot of flavor to the food. You better make sure it is outstanding. Naya’s Everest Lamb failed to make me feel it was worth paying about $ 17 for it. Parking is a problem around here but we were lucky to find a near by spot quickly. This restaurant has valet service. The restaurant also has a lounge which is also much like entering into a dream. It is a dark dream but still beautiful. It actually looks like a cool place to toss down a few drinks but judging by how average the white dream dining area is I am not tempted to return.

This was my first time eating Indian food in LA, I dont know why bc I like Indian food just never came around to it. Also the fact that it was in Silverlake enticed me to go more. We came during dinner time and the restaurant was empty so we ate in the lounge which is on the left side. Not sure why it was so dead-maybe bc it was couple of days before xmas. Once you pass the heavy curtains, you step into this dark space that was very Moroccan influenced and ornate. Theres a bar in the middle and even hookah. If you walk to the back theres a great outdoor patio with little fireplaces too. We all shared the Sweet & Sour Potato salad, asst Samosa sampler, Coconut Prawns in curry and black rice(my favorite dish), veggie briyani and of course naan. They also gave papdum with different sauces in the beginning. I thought the service was excellent and friendly despite the fact that we were the only ones really eating at that time. I would come back and try eating in the white curtained dining room and to come hang out in the lounge-the drinks were good too.
