I went back to Nest the first day after a minor remodel. Gone is the lounge furniture and deep chairs that so many people has trouble getting out of. The lounge area along the walkway towards WP-24 is gone and there is now an extended table dining area. The view is a bit more obstructed but the views of downtown LA are still there. The menu has also had a recent update of bringing back some of the dishes that were taken off and some new items added. Service is great as always. Don’t skip dessert! The Chinese donuts are now offered with a seasonal berry sauce as well as a chocolate.

Didn’t even know this place was here but really glad we went here. My friend selected this spot before a concert at the Microsoft Theater and even though they don’t take reservations, I recommend going here versus trying to wait for a table at the other places located in LA Live because it is madness down there. And by down there, it’s because the restaurant is located on top of the Ritz Carlton. Great views, less chaos from downstairs, good choice. The service was a little slow but the food was really good. My friend and i split the hamachi salad and their spring rolls and they were very filling and the fish seemed fresh. I also had the concubine’s kiss cocktail(I think that’s what it’s called)…ok I had two of them. They were good. Wouldn’t rush back but if I find myself going to a Microsoft Theater show again, I would definitely go there first before the other restaurants.

I am a genius. Read on. I chose to come here after careful research around the area before the«I Love the 90’s» Concert on Saturday with my gals. This area is a CIRCUS and there are a sea of folks waiting outside places like El Cholo and the other available restaurants on the courtyard. I didn’t want to go to any of that because I wanted to eat in peace and get out in time to see the show. So I knew there was a Ritz Carlton in the courtyard as well, and I looked up all the restaurants in it and settled on the Nest because of its open seating, large dining room, quick options for food including sushi, and of course yummy cocktails. Plus, the price point wasn’t too shabby. And it worked out well for my group of four. We sat down quickly, ordered right away, had another round of drinks, and were able to make it out of there with 10 minutes to spare. And we had great service, good food(loved their pad thai with the chicken on the bone, and their addictive green bean tempura), and a gorgeous view to boot. Now it IS a little tricky to get to this spot from the lobby but just follow the signs and you’ll be fine. At least you’re not one of the lemmings in the lines below who won’t see food or drink for another two hours yet. And you can gloat all the while as you sip your Pear Vodka in serenity while overlooking DTLA in style. As I’ve said, I’m a genius. Trust.

First things first, you need to order the tempura green beans… awesome. Now onto the rest. Great location, I was hanging out with some buddies before the Laker’s opening home game but I must say this would be an impressive date place if you’re looking for some bang for you buck. Drinks are not cheap but the view, atmosphere and friendly staff make up for it. Let’s face it, you’re not going to belly up to this bar for hours on end so spend the couple of extra dollars for a drink. If you’re going to be doing anything at or near the LALIVE I recommend you stop in for a drink or two… and don’t forget the string beans!

Inventive Asian Fusion. This is a Wolfgang Puck concept restaurant. We had a group of 6 — 4 adults and 2 twelve year olds. We all shared several dishes and everything we tasted was beyond our expectations. My son started with wonton soup which he devoured. We had California roll, Ahi, dumplings along with several other dishes. All were delicious. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect date night location. I scored mad cool points. The BF was totally impressed. I surprised him with tickets to a concert at the Microsoft Theater, and before the show, we went to nest for drinks and appetizers. It is on the 24th floor of the Ritz Carlton and just steps away from the Microsoft theater. This place is opulent without being haughty. Our server was personable, the appetizers were actually moderately priced given the portion size of high quality food that was served. The fried green beans were great — but way more than we could finish. He raved about the pork belly bao, and those spring rolls were wall-to-wall fresh seafood. Seriously — like 6 oz of lobster and crab was packed into those pretty little wonton purses. Yes, the cocktail(the Aviator) was $ 16, but it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The view definitely made it taste better.

We have been here many times and still love it. The Bao buns are the best! Soft Bao and delicious pork served warm. The sashimi salad was refreshing and light. The curry pasta with prawns has a little spice that gives you a kick but you keep coming back for more. The cucumber salad and Chinese chicken salad are delicious. The beef and broccoli is served with white or brown rice and is delightful. The shrimp toast is my favorite when not eating clean. There are so many items on the menu you can keep coming back night after night.

NEST is connected to WP24 and is a great place for cocktails. My friends ordered an espresso martini while I had a gin martini(i should probably notate the names for Unilocal). We weren’t impressed by the frou frou LA service. That has become a huge annoyance factor for someone who enjoys fine dining. On the other hand we were beyond ecstatic with our dessert choices! The chocolate banana bar was served in a glass and the mousse was oh soooo creamy! The marjolasian is a flour less chocolate cake that has bits of coffee grinds sprinkled throughout the plate. This was equally as good. We left the plate in a pretty embarrassing fashion – girls love chocolate. I would recommend coming back for a larger group(we were five); there is plenty of seating to go around!

I’d like to give this place 5 stars as the food was delicious and the view was beautiful! Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We were a party of 11, and while my friends and I look rather young, we felt that we didn’t receive the type of service you think you would at such a classy restaurant. We had water spilled on our table several times that wasn’t even cleaned or given an apology for. We had to ask for water three times, and even then our waiter did not bring it. We waited 30 minutes trying to ask different waiters but still, no water. Disappointedly, food was great but service ruined the experience.

I came to nest on 4th of July to watch the fireworks. The service is great, the view is spectacular, the décor is modern and not overwhelming. Overall the food is okay. I didn’t have anything that tasted bad. The pear martini was really good and the flourless chocolate dessert. Great place to be on Fourth of July or if you just wanna grab a drink…

Expansive views, exotic food and a romantic setting. This place has it all. The sea food is fresh and well prepared, presented in dishes that excite the senses. My wife and I enjoy our date nights here and are always treated with exceptional service. This visit we shared the«Skewers & Suds Menu» which came with a selection that offers chicken, lamb, beef and pork belly satay skewers, paired with sauces to match. I had the Thai Curry Noodles(my new favorite) and the wife ordered the General Tsao chicken. Finished the evening sharing the Chinese Donuts which were servered fresh and hot. The bar offers some new twists on the old favorites. The Ku Mai Tai was better that the standard fair Mai Tai you would normally receive. French 75 is the the wife’s favorite. Whether on a date or with friends, the night will be one that be fun, enjoyable and not soon forgotten.

I like this place. I came here tonight with a client before a comedy show at Club Nokia. It was a tiny bit confusing how to get up to the restaurant but we figured it out. We were immediately greeted by the hostess. She was nice… But acted a little pretentious. She told us there was open seating in the«Nest» area. I guess the lounge part of WP is called Nest and the actually restaurant is WP24. It was pretty empty so we picked a scenic table right in front of the window overlooking downtown. We started with the Spring Rolls and the Chinese Crystal Dumplings. I REALLY liked the dumplings!!! Definitely a must get!!! The Spring rolls were good too… I liked the sauce it came with. They were STUFFED full of seafood… but personally would have liked some sort of veggie in there. Then we got an order of the Crispy Skin ½ Young Chicken and the Kim Chi Fried Rice. Both were really good. I like their play on the fried rice with over easy eggs on top, not scrambled in! For me, it had the perfect amount of spice. The chicken was my least favorite, but I really dug the curry sauce it was sitting in. Our waiter was great, he was friendly, prompt, make sure our water glasses were full and lastly, and most importantly to me… he made sure to leave the sauce from the spring rolls on the table when we took that plate away. haha, I almost had to ask him to leave it and he just knew! I’ll be back. P. S. It was two of us and 2 small plates and 2 large plates was too much food, even though our waiter suggested we do that PLUS a sushi roll. Next time we will only get 2 small plates and 1 large plate.

Spectacular view! I went with a friend and say right in front of the windows with a gorgeous view. No reservation on a Tuesday night since the place was wide open. Highlight of the night were the crystal dumplings and the lobster spring rolls. We also got the crispy chicken in red curry and the kimchi friend rice. BOTH very good but the appetizers were the highlight. For my drink I got the pear cocktail/martini which was also delicious and not too sweet. Good place to go before a show!

The service is top notch. Came here on a whim. Hanging in DTLA for the night. We usually stay at the JW but no rooms available. The view is awesome and the ribs are out of this world. I can’t believe they only have 32 reviews. Nice spot if you want to have a romantic evening. Yanay, our waitress/server was awesome, super polite, and one of the best customer service representatives I have encountered. Come check it out. Hidden gem in city of Angels. Happy drinking/eating.

We had reservations with some friends at WP24, but it was a more formal vibe than at the Nest. It looked like a great date place and I hope to come back with my husband, especially after trying the food at Nest. The night started with some great cocktails. Don’t pass them over. We ordered some Tempura Green Beans to munch on while we looked over the menu. For the rest of the meal we ordered Chinese chicken salad, Jidori chicken stir fry, grilled lamb chops, and beef & broccoli. All the dishes were phenomenal, but my favorite was the Jidori chicken stir fry. WP has a way of layering his flavors in each dish. It is amazing! My palate was so happy with each bite. I really can’t say enough about the food. I’ve had WP’s pizzas and salads at his take away spots at airports. This is above and beyond any of that food. Go for drinks, go for snacks, or go for dinner, but go! The view is great too!

Sexy bar with a phenomenal DTLA view. Ordered dessert — just phenomenal and being a fan of Sally Camacho from Top Chef, we enjoyed it even more when we saw her name in the menu. of course being a WP restaurant you know you’re going to be pleased! Only thing is that this bar is definitely a convention/business hotel. only locals are the ones entertaining clients or playing tour guide.

Drinks Only Entering through the 900 West Olympic entrance leads you to the Marriot lobby. Go to the right to the back, & there will be a poster of Wolfgang Puck with a WP24 plaque/Ritz Carlton Logo. Go through the small narrow entrance & wend your way through a mini-maze to the elevator & onto the 24th floor. DTLA Events, an LGBTQ social networking mixer was generously hosted this time by the owners of the Redline Restaurant & Video Bar due to open in November of 2014. As usual, the interior décor of the Ritz Carlton is ritzy-titsy with quiet, sumptuous materials, but understated, elegant detail as witnessed in the lobby space of the elevator to WP24& The Nest. As an anticlimax, leaving the elevator, the entrance to The Nest is not nearly as sybaritic, and seems rather plain. Upon reaching the reception, the lighting gives an impression of mid-century modern, and much of the interior is framed with wood framing & narrow slats to form open yet enclosed spaces which may represent a form of a twig formed bird’s nest. What impresses here is the view of the DTLA skyscrapers & the scene beyond including seeing the planetarium at Griffith Park & the San Gabriel Mts. which would look ever so majestic in the winter when snow caps the peaks in non-drought years. There is an extensive bar area near reception, and going beyond is a series of seating & gathering areas at places framed by the wooden frame work. This is a chic, minimalist space. The main décor being the floor to ceiling windows to show off downtown LA. There are the off-hand wide screen TV monitors here & there to satisfy those who are truly addicted to the«Boob Tube». But thankfully, at least for this soirée, the volume was turned off. Our waitress was perky, yet discreet, pleasant & polite. My glass of a rather strong pinkish, almost magenta Rose wine was a refreshing counterpoint to a rather unusually muggy & humid afternoon. Most of the guests were conventional in manner & dress although there were flashes of affluence such a Rolex, Patek Phillip, Cartier on certain wrists. However, one gentleman, the Baroness of Bixel & Beaudry, made a splash coming in transvestite attire. I asked & got permission to post him on Unilocal to show that Los Angeles generally supports diversity in all its forms even on the 24th floor of an upmarket, high-toned venue by a well-known, well-heeled entrepreneur by the name of W.P.(Unfortunately, this photo was requested to be taken down.) Nice space especially to impress out of town guests or a special date to show that you have the mojo & possibly mucho moolah. 4– Unilocal stars.

Came here on a Friday night for our pre-game at Staples Center. I was amazed by the scenic views. True that Nest doesn’t offer the best view of Downtown LA but it’s romantic enough. I though I fell in love… lol. As we’re enjoying our drinks, a lychee martini and a «high-end» old fashioned, we’re also having a great time being up high. It’s such an eye opening. Nest is definitely one of the best places for a date night in DTLA. If you’re looking for somewhere to take her to this Friday night or even a Saturday night, Nest won’t be disappointed. You don’t even need to flash your black amex to impress her like my date did.
