Nighthawk: Breakfast Bar

Ok, you guys… This place legit changed my life. I wish I was kidding, but I’m dead serious. I went last week and a single day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought (more like daydreamed/​salivated) about the INSANE candied bacon, the Nighthawk Sandwich, and the AMAZING selection of creative cocktails (boozy floats/​spiked cereal milk/​Orange Julius’/etc.)
On top of the impressive food and drinks, the atmosphere is super cool with an easy going crowd and waitstaff and a fun DJ cranking out some good tunes! I loved all the décor as well. I truly don’t have a single complaint about this place and can’t wait to go back! Do yourself a favor and try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Artificially padded the line to increase hype, which I guess is the norm for these type of hip establishments, but 45 minutes to get in when you’re THE FIRST GROUP to arrive is unacceptable — not to mention, we arrived at the location and waited in line well before it was even open, when the bar was COMPLETELY empty.
My friends and I ordered the go-​to drinks recommended by Thrillist — The OG, and the Spiked Cereal Milk (Fruity — Gin and Honey Nut — Bourbon). The OG was just alright — it sure tasted like an Orange Julius but it wasn’t to-​die-​for, an overall forgettable drink. The Spiked Cereal Milk, on the other hand, was absolutely lacking, surprisingly bland, and simply, overhyped. The cereal milk ONLY consists of the milk left over from cereals (duh) but the drink itself consisted of almost 95% milk and the rest was alcohol — that’s it, nothing special.
I’d expect some more flavor and oomph to a drink like this but it was just as simple in ingredients as it was in execution — you’re better off drinking a shot with your cereal in the morning, because that’s exactly what it is. Also, if you were to drink your own cereal, at least you have the option of using 2% or low-​fat or skim milk, which unfortunately for this bar, doesn’t give you a choice (I still don’t know which type of milk was used).
However, it is cool that they serve you the drinks in genuine glass milk bottles — it’s not cool that they ran out of funky straws and cereal coasters on opening night, however.
We also ordered the Benedict Fries, which I thought was delicious, though a bit heavy on the sauce. The portion was well enough to feed three people, two of whom were satisfied (the third thought it was too bland).
The ambiance was a little fancy and a little relaxed and the space was tiny which can fit only about 80 people. My only complaint about the space was that it was too hot — not because of the volume of people in the space, but because of the air conditioning. Almost everyone took off their coats the second they walked through this bar’s doors. Maybe because it’s Winter (?)
Service was actually pretty good and the owner checked up on the guests from time-​to-​time — this interaction felt welcoming and, overall, I was pleased with how I was treated.
PS I didn’t get the memo that most of the patrons on opening night were wearing black. Is that a thing in LA now (?) — a funny little observation as I was waiting for my food.

Yummy food and drink! Love the atmosphere and it is decorated beautifully! Awesome spot for a one of a kind experience !!!

At first glance — you’ll probably not notice where Nighthawk Breakfast Bar is. If you look closely enough it’s hidden in The Restaurant Sadie. You’ll then be greeted by an awesome doorman — and be asked what business you have — the answer is Nighthawk.
This place is amazing. Seriously amazing. The ambiance and music and the food (damn the food is delicious) and the drinks (you’ll want to try them all) all of it works.
For its first opening night (160 115) — it was crowded but still enjoyable. Everyone in there seemed to be having a jolly time /​with the live music playing and people just enjoying each other’s company.
You’ll be greeted by friendly waiters/​waitresses but if you’re lucky you’ll meet Patrick the GM — he’s really chill and will definitely take care of you and get you seated in a timely manner.

The food —
Drunken French Toast — moist and delicious; get it if you’re in need of something on the sweet side
«Benedict» Fries — oh damn, this was perfect in itself. It tasted like a pepperoni cheese pizza with fries and topped with a fried egg – the perfection!
Tower O’Bacon with a side of beer — candied bacon that hits both your savory and sweet palates at the same time & paired with a beer to make it oh so fancy.
Chicken & Biscuits– oh damn the chefs in the back cooking this novelty item at Nighthawk. This was delicious as well and you could tell as we scraped every single piece of chicken /​biscuit /​gravy down our hatch to savor the yumminess that it is.
Onto the booze!!!
Their specialty is definitely the #SpikedCerealMilk — drinking two of these baddies is just so decadent. I was able to get the Cocao — Brandy masterpiece and drank it like a happy kid who was given their favorite candy. Slurp slurp slurp — got seconds and was about to try the Fruity — Gin concoction but the waitress sadly said they had sold out. (This just means I’m coming back again)
Next tried their #JuliusMaximus drinks and got «The OG» and it was amazing — smoothie with alcohol that is reminiscent of breakfast for champions lol
Then ended the evening with a duo taste of «Irish Coffee» and the «Oaxacan Coffee» both having a distinctive taste that are perfect for coffee drinkers that like a little kick to their coffees.
To end my rant — this place deserves all the hype it’s going to get from today onwards. A bar that highlights breakfast as its mainstay theme is just wonderful. I will definitely be returning here to try the rest of the #spikedcerealmilk and get seconds on the food.
