Love this place! They do a really great job and are very nice and friendly. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure. My manicure was PERFECT! It turned out smooth and really pretty and my pedicure was really relaxing! Will come back soon!

I will say that the lady who mangled my nails was very nice. I almost feel bad writing this review. But I went there because it had a four star rating. I find most people who leave negative reviews on Unilocal are overly picky and just like to bitch when things aren’t 100% perfect. And there are a lot who like to write those kinds of reviews.
So with that, I figured without a bunch of bitching and moaning about this place they must be pretty good. Sadly I have never had a worse experience at a nail salon, ever!
I went to have some acrylics removed that I got for a friend’s wedding. I decided that I wanted them removed and went in to have that done and finish with a basic manicure. I was under no illusion that having had them was going to mean some damage to my nails. I had read a lot on the internet about removing them myself, but decided to mitigate the damage and leave that to a professional. I wish I had done it myself.
First of all she didn’t leave the acetone on my nails nearly long enough to properly loosen the glue. Which resulted in her ripping one of my nails right off. She proceeded to grind the rest down, and managed to grind quite a bit of the surface of my own nails in the process. Then instaed of giving them a nice even filing she filed them not only different lengths, but every single nail was crooked. Some were even pointed. And I don’t mean in the intentional style some like to wear. I mean with points off to the side. She then asked if that was okay to polish. I said noooooo look at that one is uneven. So is this one and that one. So she files them shorter, and still uneven. Then filed the rest to match in length, well not really matching in length, but shorter, and shorter as I keep showing her they aren’t even. The pictures I am downloading are at the point I decided I would just clip and file them at home when once again she was ready to polish them. She was wearing glasses. Maybe she needs a new prescription. Maybe she is one of those people who just has no sense of symmetry. Whatever the reason. She apparently couldn’t tell they were a mangled mess.
When I told her not to bother to polish and that I was just going to leave I saw the other women looking at us. Not one of them offered to look at my nails to see if: I was just being overly picky and in a bad mood, or if maybe they should offer to help fix them.
I paid $ 17 dollars for the painful removal and the half finished manicure as well as a $ 5 tip I gave before the manicure was finished. I didn’t ask for my money back because she did spend a lot of time and effort to destroy my nails. :(

I used to go often to their previous location. However, i wont be going back to their new location. The place is way to small. The last time i went i got their before 3 other ladies and they took them before they took me. Btw they didn’t have an appt just because they were regulars. That was so rude.

I have been going there for years and finally writing a review. They moved last year and now even closer to my house. Ally is the best, Im always satisfied and she really does gel that good. Thanx Ally ;) and Lilly and the whole crew, they are all awesome!

I’ve been coming here for almost a year already and I always walk out extremely happy! The staff is small but very friendly! Nails always come out looking amazing no matter who does them. Eye brows too ! Love love love

I found this place on Unilocal and am now confused why they have only three stars :(they were so sweet and did an awesome job on my nails! And they have great prices. I very rarely get a design that I really like. Usually people say my nails are too small and that’s their excuse for doing a bad job. I forgot to ask the name of my nail lady… but she was lovely and accommodating. Also she didn’t charge much extra for the design. gels are only $ 22 and with designs and charms was only $ 30. Try them out! I recommend them.

Horrible experience. I was charged full price for half the service. I came in for a manicure with gel and pedicure. I was in the salon max 30min. I started in the spa chair and 5 min laters my pedicure was stopped to do my manicure. The lady walked in with a bucket put it on the floor and that was my pedicure. The minimum was done. I understand trying to get people in and out. They have to make their money but at least give the customer the option. My hands and feet are dry. The lotion and oil was cheap. The massage was a pat down.

I have been looking for a nail place close to my house and decided to give it a try. The lady turned the drill ALL the way up, and quite honestly it scared the daylights out of me since it sounded like a monster truck race and we all know how quickly they get hot. My nails were on fire the entire time and she was going so fast that she filed the tip off one of my nails. Then she cut my finger pretty good and it started bleeding. I should of just left at that point but just wanted my nails done. I asked her to make them more pointy if she could, but all she did was make them more narrow. I brought my own polish and told her it is gel, she continued to put 3 coats of it on and it was EVErYWHERE. On me, on her, on the table, just dripping all over the place because she didn’t use the light to cure it. Another lady walks up and sees and says the polish won’t stay without a light, yes I know, I never said I didn’t want a light. She says it’s going to be $ 10 more for the light, okay whatever just do my nails properly is all I want. After I’m done there’s a hair cured in the polish and they’re not all evenly polished but I’m ready to head out of this place. These people really have no clue what they’re doing, my fingers were handled so hard that it cracked my knuckles, I was trying so hard not to laugh cause I thought this has to be a sick joke. Save yourself the torture and go elsewhere.

This place is a nice little location, i have been going there for a long time for different occasions. the people there are nice and they take their time doing a great job on your nails. Definitely recommend this place. prices are great!

This place is the best for waxing and pedicures! I don’t trust anyone else to do my brazilians. They’re super friendly, efficient, and really sweet. They always remember my girlfriends and I and ask about them when I go in alone. We are moving to Sherman Oaks and will be right across the street from a nail salon but we’ve already agreed that we’ll continue coming to North Hollywood Nails at their new location off Oxnard!
