The President… Where do I begin. As a new Angelino I was looking for something budget friendly, pet-friendly, semi-renovated, and centrally located. At the time The President seemed to fit the bill. It was in between two schools so that made me feel safe, Starbucks, food 4 less, and rite aid were all walking distance. I was right next to downtown and about 3 minutes from the 10⁄110. My unit was okay, things worked, I had what I needed, and my view was good so that was a plus. The renovated units were much nicer. You will need to buy a window a/c unit. The wood floor was really badly finished so it eventually started to splinter and look really bad. The property manager actually deducted this from my deposit(even though she never gave me the move out inspection I asked for) even though I know THEY did a bad job finishing the floors. My food used to mold quickly, and the water was pretty gross. I thought it was just LA until i moved out of there. So this gets me into my least favorite aspect of living at the president: Parking. There is a completely free first come, first serve lot with about 12 spaces. About 8 of those spaces are taken by the same cars all the time. The other 4 are like hitting the lotto, if you get one consider yourself lucky. At night people double park here and leave there numbers in their window, but you have to move by 7:30 or so unless you want to get a ticket. The water is off between 9 – 5 probably like 2 – 3 times a month so be prepared for that. If you’re not picky, don’t own a car and you’re on a budget then this could work for you. I wouldn’t recommend this building to anyone, though.

I don’t know who the Jorge R. without a photo is but this is the real Jorge R. and I never said that. It seems like a lot of work for me to make a second account to write the review, especially since I only have one email address. I am not sure who is doing what but I am not at all responsible for that post. Whoever wrote must be proud of themselves thinking they can pull one over on me. Funny. I am a tenant in this building and to see an account made this month under my name is startling to say the least. I highly doubt any other tenants know my name or would go through the effort to make such an elaborate plan to use my name to write a review. I never air dirty laundry in public. Whoever wrote that under my name needs to come forward, own up, then delete it. UPDATE: The fraudulent Jorge R. account with no picture was deleted as soon as I sent a private message asking who they were and made this public comment about them not being me. Either they forgot to delete it before I saw it or me saying something caused them to back down. Either way, enjoy your day!

Overall: Do not move into this apartment complex. I moved in The President Apartments in April 2014. The units are«renovated» but quickly fall apart due to cheap work. I had to break my 1-year lease after 4 months due to the uninhabitable conditions. The building has infestations which you are not informed of. The water gets cut off for hours regularly(about 4 times while I lived there). Management is unprofessional. The building is not well-kept. Just save yourself the trouble…
