Sara Leib is an incredible teacher, and you won’t be disappointed. It can be so difficult to find the right voice instructor in Los Angeles; the perfect combination of professional singing experience and stellar education is rare. But Sara is that rare find. She received her training on the East Coast at Berklee and NEC, and she has been a studio singer and working professional for years. She emphasizes breathing and singing the natural, healthy way and explains technique in a clear, direct manner. She has helped me so much with relaxation techniques! Sara is such an incredible teacher. She has a beautiful voice and an extensive knowledge of music and singing. On top of that… she knows how to effectively teach her students how to improve.
In a city where anyone can be an «acting coach» or a «singing coach» — you really need to be careful. Most of these impostors are in it to make a quick buck. Sara actually loves music and teaching it. Her passion for all of the above makes learning that much easier.

Sara takes an obscene amount of high-​quality education (Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory) and incorporates it– entertaingly, enthusiastically, understandably– into whatever you’re trying to learn.
You’re not going to get sleep-​inducing lectures. You’re not going to get some stilted, one-​size-​fits-​all approach from Sara. You’re not going to get some wacky archaic technique that makes you feel like you’re on Mars.
You will laugh, you will improve, you will be engaged, you will improve, you will be stunned at how simply she’ll make you smarter, you will improve.
If you’re dumb and don’t really love music, don’t see Sara. Let someone else who gives a sh*t about music take your hour slot. Sara’s busy.

I’ve never had so much fun improving my craft.

I’ve studied with two other vocal coaches over the years, but never quite «got it» when it came to technique. I’m one of those people who has to understand the mechanics of a concept before I can put it into action (ex: understanding how the gears of a car with manual transmission work before being able to drive a stick shift).
I can honestly say that, by studying with Sara Leib, I now get it.
All teachers talk about the head voice, the chest voice, placement, the mask, the diaphragm… yada yada yada. But Sara saw and heard me struggling with some of these things and took the time to explain in great detail how all these things work within our bodies. She is such a great teacher, being able to break-​down everything into bite-​sized pieces that anyone can comprehend. After studying with her for just five months I can tell that my head voice is getting stronger (it’s what I’ve wanted for decades!).
Moreover, she is so knowledgeable about music (she has a very impressive educational background) that she’s like my very own private music tutor. She’s able to bring EVERYTHING together within my lessons to provide me with the most-​rounded vocal/​music lessons that I’ve ever taken.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sara and her abilities — not to mention her down-​to-​earth personality and humor. She is exceptional and is the best vocal coach that I’ve studied with!

I have been through so many teachers. Some good and some bad. Sara is the vocal teacher you hope to find on that journey. Not only is she a phenomenal singer, she has a great talent for understanding what you want/​goals in a lesson. She knows the voice and I think that is the strongest quality in a vocal teacher. Sara’s got this amazingly obvious love for music and for her students as well. Her high energy and good humor, makes students of any level feel comfortable and relaxed. Her enthusiasm about music, whether it be about theory, technique or performance, is infectious. Her knowledge, extensive and her professionalism unmatched. And on a side note, I just love her studio! It’s so cool, not just another room with a piano in it, like other teachers I’ve had in the past. This studio was designed to cultivate music and musicians alike!

Not just a brilliant teacher, Sara is an incredible singer too! But there are few teachers as intelligent AND nice as Sara Leib. She will spot your strengths and weaknesses and not make you feel bad about them. She knows a ton about preparation, about different kinds of music, and most important – she enjoys doing it! The best vocal coach I’ve ever worked with.

Wow, Sara is like, THE BEST teacher I’ve ever had. She taught me all the things I asked for, and beyond! Her grasp on singing technique and interpretation, and theory, etc was really refreshing. I’m so lucky to have such a great vocal coach.
