I AMSODISAPPOINTED! When they were just a small shop on 1st/Alameda, they were great! I’ve been going to them for years, but I’d never been to this new location until today. My battered shrimp was almost black — they were not de-veined — they were GROSS! The rice and beens were salty. The fish was so-so. Never again. SAD!

So glad that Señor Fish found another location close to Little Tokyo. Hopefully they can get their liquor license so that they can be open for dinner. For right now they are open for lunch. And it is popular for lunch. One of my favorites is their potato tacos. But they have a variety of items on their menu. From tacos to plates. They have an awesome salsa bar near the back. Blackened rock cod is spicy and tender. Juicy done to perfection. Side salad had good variety including avocado. Perfect lunch overall. Will bring family back.

Amazing food! Try the torta with Carne asada or the fish tacos! Everything really taste like homemade. And I am Mexican so I don’t say that just cuz . For beverages they have really good aguas frescas(juices) try the pineapple juice! And if u want some good salsa and chips, this is definitely the spot! Try the orange salsa, it has habanero in it but it’s not crazy spicy. Overall definitely recommend this spot. Average for a meal is $ 10

Rude, dishonest, not very clean. I’d give 0 stars if possible. Save yourself from getting sick and go somewhere else.

Señor Fish is an awesome lunch option for large, fresh seafood burritos at a cheap price. You can select from a wide selection of different fish, including sea bass, rock cod, orange roughy, swordfish, and halibut, or shrimp and scallop as well. They provide ample portions of the fresh grilled or battered seafood, with a tasty mix of rice, beans, salsa, pico de gallo, and cabbage. All of the seafood burritos are excellent, and for $ 8 – 10 for a large burrito, they’re a great value. My personal favorite is the halibut burrito, although the shrimp and scallop burrito is also very good. On top of the high quality burritos, they also have a full salsa bar, which includes spicy habanero(my favorite), chipotle, and many others. There are also free, all you can eat tortilla chips with every meal. The non-seafood items are average, but they’re not really the reason to come here. The venue is large, well lit, and has plenty of seating.

Went in there for lunch really excited to eat! lol but what messed me up was I found a hair in my food, that sucks I’m never eating there again. And the rice was really dry. Bad experience.

Señor Fish has an extensive menu, with just about anything you can think of. This location is usually very busy during lunch hour, as it is located in a prominent part of downtown Los Angeles, surrounded by businesses and public institutions. They have great lunch combinations for $ 10, which come with two tacos, rice, beans, and a drink! They also offer everything a la carte. They have a self-serve salsa section, with salsas ranging from mild-hot, in addition to pickled jalapeños, sour cream, radishes, and more.

This place is great because you can pick what kind of fish you would like for your burrito, taco, etc.

Señor fish has moved. The old location had more charm but the food is still as good tho. Nice place to go to.

I used to eat at the little Tokyo location and it was really good. For some reason the service and quality has gone way down hill since they moved. Their agua fresca is artificial tasting and way too sugary to the extent that it was undrinkable. My shrimp tacos were skimpy and bland. And it took forever to order even though I went after the lunch rush. I hate to give up on this place but I can’t keep throwing money away. Sorry to loose a lunch spot.

Lofty space with some contemporary meets Mexicana deco is the ambiance you’ll walk into when you dine at SF. It’s a modern spin to Mexican food that I would say most agree is catering to the healthier version. Lots of fresh fish options to pair with a giant salad that my friends loved. The taco special for $ 10 that buys you 2 tacos, beans, and rice seems to be a fan fave for what you get and pay for. Grilled fish is the best if you go with that. Friend really liked the carnitas. I would stay away from the asadas. Communal style seating allows for big parties to hang easily. Cucumber water was definitely yum and perfect to pair with the mole-sauced tacos I had during my visit. Plenty outdoor patio seating but a ton inside too.

Horrible service! I ordered a SALAD and 40 minutes later and nothing! I walked up to the counter to ask the person at the register and she asked me to ask some guy named Ramiro about my good but he just ignored me and went about his business! I demanded a refund and at that moment they claimed my food ready. 50 minutes later??? No thank you! Never waiting here again!

I actually hope management reads this because I want this Señor Fish to grab hold of its full potential. First off, I was a die-hard fan of the previous downtown Señor Fish in Little Tokyo and I was sad to see it close to make room for the new metro station. But holy guacamole… the new location suddenly opened right across the street from my apartment – it couldn’t get any better! Except that it could get better. I ate and drink at the old Señor Fish over 100 times; the scallop burrito was one of my go-to staples; the al pastor tacos were excellent; drinks were well-made and Sunday happy hour was a Godsend. I’ve only eaten at the new Main St. location four or five times, but each time I have been disappointed. Something is lost in transition; the recipes didn’t quite make the five block relocation; I don’t know. The scallop burrito is missing the magic it used to have. Today it arrived cold(actually cold) and seemed to be nearly empty and completely uninspired. I ate it, but I was actually sad while doing so. My girlfriend had the chilaquiles and that plate was more than uninspired; it was nearly inedible(the dry, plain potatoes that came with the chilaquiles were literally inedible and we left them on the plate). This location has tremendous potential but the owners and management cannot simple phone it in or rest on their laurels – simply moving a successful restaurant five blocks does not guarantee success. The food is not the same. Who insures the level of quality? Was this person at the old location? The salsa bar is still excellent, so I want to give credit to this department. We’ll see how the bar runs when the liquor license comes through(I really hope it lives up to the glory of the Little Tokyo location). Also, if the sign says you open at 7:00 am, please open at that time. Twice I have ordered breakfast burritos at that time and the kitchen isn’t really prepared to make food right at 7:00. I have to be at work by 7:20 so I don’t have time to wait for employees to arrive late(I hate to call out a few employees, but they arrived late on more than one occasion… literally running in at 7:15). I stopped ordering breakfast burritos because it was too risky. If the employees arrive on time I will continue to order in the morning. Let’s do this, ladies and gentlemen! I want to be a loyal customer again.

it has been a long time since i have señor fish again. before it was on first st, near alameda. i don’t know how long that they have moved to this location, it looks nice, but very unfinished. I wonder if they have opened up just very recently. i ordered a seabass grill plate and watermelon juice. the seabass was over all fine, just found it not juicy enough as seabass, but flavor was just right along with the sides. My biggest problem is with the watermelon juice. it very sweet, and it makes me feel thirsty too. I suspect that they have added a lot of sugar to it. i have to balance it by adding in water, which take away the taste of watermelon. i love watermelon, and i know watermelon. the sweetness of it is unusual. if by any chance i am right that they added sweet into the juice, i think they might need to do something about it. i know people who can’t take too much sugar for health issue. Normal amount of nature fruit is fine, but not man added amount.

First time here I was excited, I order chicken enchiladas. The chips and salsa was good, they have all these salsas hot and mild. The enchiladas were hard flour and the rice didn’t have a good or bad taste. Whole beans instead of refried beans. Next time I’ll Try something else. Don’t get the enchiladas

I work in the downtown Civic Center area and was looking for a place to get a bite to eat. I decided to go to Señor Fish and was impressed. It was during lunch rush hour and the line was out the door. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the register to order. I got the seafood enchiladas plate and a pineapple aqua fresca. I waited about 10 minutes for my order. It came with 3 enchiladas, beans, and rice. The enchiladas were filled with shrimp, scallops, and fish. I am a huge fan of enchiladas and I must say that they were delicious. The beans and rice were good as well. I looked around at other people plate and all of the food looked appetizing. Some of the things I want to try next are the wet burritos, fish plate, and the salad.

Lunched here today with some gal pals. I was excited to try it because I was a fan of the Eagle Rock and Little Tokyo locations. This new location is definitely welcoming to everyone that works around here, since it’s easy to walk to and no worrying about parking. There’s a salsa bar and free chips and salsa. Our group had 2 grilled shrimp/scallop burritos and a carne asada burrito, and horchata. While the burritos were large and flavorful, most of it was rice and beans and not enough shrimp/scallop. My burrito ended up falling apart as I got halfway through. The horchata had good flavor, but was on the thick/gritty side. Almost like chewing the rice grains. Our drinks were more ice than liquid, and the lady didn’t fill it up all the way. Each of our meals were about $ 11-$ 13, which is pretty standard. They have a wide menu, so I’ll still come back to try more items.

Little Tokyo location closed last year and they now moved a few blocks to Downtown. Lunch lines can be long so expect a wait. There is so much space here. And I think they’re opening a bar up. The place is fairly new so in a few months it’ll look more like a restaurant. They serve fresh chips and salsa to your table with a salsa bar to help yourself to more. I got the sope a la carte which I really enjoyed. It was fresh and tasty. I’m sure I’ll be back here since work isn’t far.

Not as charming as the old Señor Fish in Little Tokyo but the same great fish burrito and a slew of new plate options. Breakfast options and Lunch specials are great for city and county workers. Lots of tabled seating inside and outside, even two couches in a living room setting if you want a different feel. A little strange to be eating in a building connected with LAPDHQ, especially if/when Señor Fish gets it liquor license. Same great food and service, just a little nicer

There is no cozy ambiance here — just incredibly good food. The wait can get annoying, especially if your are on a short lunch hour. But when the food arrives, all things are forgiven. The visual presentation is always cheerful — bunched avacado slices arranged on the salads like smiles, happy combos of rice and beans and your main selection carefully nestled against one another on each plate. And the fish! Fresh! Well seasoned! And always perfectly grilled. I have had their seafood omelet, the grilled orange roughy, and the chicken mole(not all on the same day) and wow! These are flavorful full servings, satisfying meals that leave you thinking about and savoring each bite for the rest of the day. Senior Fish is not a niche Mexican place — it is just fine food. Take a moment and try anything on the menu. It is just an amazing meal every time.

Señor Fish is pretty new to the downtown landscape and it’s clearly made a big impact because the lunch lines are long. It took about 25 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. Which isn’t bad, but not very relaxing for an hour lunch. I got three tacos: steak, grilled fish, and grilled scallops. Each taco came on one small tortilla, opposed two, so it had trouble staying together. By the third taco, the salsa had soaked through the entire thing and it was too soggy to pick up. They also provided free chips, which was a nice touch. Although my chips came in the middle of the meal, which was a little strange. Overall, great concept with a couple flaws in executions. Less salsa and more(or more sturdy) tortillas, would make a big difference. Plus, if you’re going to offer free chips, might as well give them to customers at the time of ordering, rather than whenever there’s time time bring them over.

I can’t wait for them to catch up to where the old Señor Fish used to be. This new iteration of Señor Fish is still in the works. More of a soft opening, they are still working on the menu, setting up the salsa bar, and getting things figured out. I’ve been a few times since they opened earlier this month, and it’s been clunky. The first time I was there I had to ask for chips and salsa, but yesterday they had set up a makeshift salsa bar — still not great, but at least it is there. Still no alcohol service at the bar, but that will be coming soon I hear. Food: Salmon burrito: pretty good, decent size. Seafood enchiladas: good and decent sized. Sizzling salmon salad: This salad had spinach that tasted like it was frozen — I’m not sure if it had been fresh or not, but either way it was way too overcooked and soggy, which leads to the salmon: the skin was soggy, not crispy. If you’re going to advertise sizzling salmon, crisp the skin, and don’t put it on a soggy pile of spinach. Something to work on for sure. Also, I felt the portion of the salad itself was much smaller than I’d had at the South Pas location. I’d like to see their items be more consistent in the future. Horchata: very good. Watermelon Juice: Could be blended better. It was hard to drink with a straw with how much pulp there was. Ambiance: The interior is pretty dark, and they’re still setting up. Plenty of tables. There is a bar, but they are not serving alcohol yet. Service: Fantastic. Hours: They’re not open for dinner, yet. I can’t wait for them to finish setting up and getting better at cooking the food. I’ll review again in a few months after they’ve been open a while and get their bar open.
