I’m not sure if I can really complain about this location. I’m also not sure if anyone else can though, if you’re paying a fraction of the price for something that you would get at Ralph’s or Pavilion then yes – there probably won’t be exceptional customer service. I’m sure the sales associates at whole foods are loads nicer but I don’t think people who shop at smart and final are willing to go there… I will say that I haven’t had an issue with customer service there. Pros: CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP Insane bulk quantities. There’s a bag of corn chips the size of those bags you get for lawn trimmings Great location on Crenshaw blvd, super walkable for me A surprising selection of goods for such a small storefront They always have deals on produce The security guard there is usually friendly looking Cons: A good portion of the produce is already moldy or going bad Certain things they sell aren’t really discounted at all(like nuts, or energy drinks, or most personal hygiene products for example)

Marlo may get the award for rudest sales associate ever. 3rd time I’ve been here & she makes me feel uncomfortable. Why do I always get stuck in the line with this miserable, unhappy, unfriendly person. I know I’m not the only one who has felt the wrath of her negative energy. Impossible. I ask her how her day is she says nothing. Not a word. I’m spending a lot of money… Wouldn’t hurt for you to give eye contact… It also wouldn’t hurt for you to act like your grateful you have a job… Even if it is a shitty one.

I come here for certain things like foil, paper cups and plates or if I don’t feel like driving all the way to the grocery store since its near the house.

I visited this location several times over the years. The staff is generally pleasant and helpful but a couple of weeks ago I had a bad experience at the check out line. There were 2 lines open on a Saturday afternoon and this is what happens when you pick the wrong line at Smart & Final… We were about the 4th customer in line and just as our turn was coming up, the cashier(Mynor) abruptly placed the plastic closed sign on the belt in front of us without saying a word or even looking up at us. It was rude and we were like, hello? Are you really going to close the register after we’ve been waiting all this time? Mynor said yes, everyone is out to lunch and he needs to take care of this — «this» meaning many things, 1) armored transportation is here, 2) he has to drop everything he’s doing, 3) he doesn’t have time to apologize, 4) he doesn’t need to explain 5) the register is now closed — go away. Well, we didn’t quite get it because we assumed they were required to service consumers who are prepared to give them money for exchange in goods which typically is a direct outcome to keeping their doors open & employees employed but I was mistaken because Mynor told us we had to go another register. Really? You’re going to leave us here like this? Mynor said, we can wait but he doesn’t know how long he will be. If it was just me, I would have left my cart and walked out but I was with my daughter, helping my mother do her weekend shopping so we rolled over to the end of the other line back in the 4th position again. The customers in front of us saw what happened and turned around to tell us he was rude to close the line on us. It was handled unprofessionally and to rub salt in the wound, Mynor reopened his line before we got up to the register in the line he told us to go to and then he took the customers at the back of our line and helped them first. Mynor either has no home training or he is a racist. To make matters worse, Mynor is the store manager. The cashier that eventually rang us up was professional and she was hustling the whole time we were in line since they were short staffed.

I’ve been here a few times and I have only left somewhat satisfied. Keep in mind that this one is just a regular Smart & Final and not and Extra! location. That being said, their produce department is tiny. It’s so sad to see what they offer. They offer the basics, but the selection is so small. They basically have just the… well…basics. I came here today looking for bananas and they were all green and they didn’t have my moth balls. I don’t even think they carry it at all. I know… I know… horrible, right? LOL! Anyway, I Smart& Final Extra! open up much, much closer to me so I will go there in the future, as it is much larger and better stocked than this one.

Love this store. They got almost every food item and in bulk for great prices. Service was quick and pleasant.

It’s always amazing that a business that comes up short can make up for it by having a helpful and attentive staff. The store is understaffed, and because of that the lines are usually long. The difference here is that the staff they do have HUSTLE. Kind if makes the wait not so bad.
