I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis, which basically means I have trouble swallowing and food often gets stuck in my esophogus. It’s extremely painful, kinda scary, and often embarrassing because if the food won’t just go down with some water, I have to find somewhere to throw it up ASAP. The longer I wait to do this the more painful it gets and more likely I am to also start actually choking or having trouble breathing. This happened at Subway on NYE, and before it got really bad, I as calmly & discretely as possible told the staff what was going on and asked that they make an exception and let me into the employee bathroom. They refused-Said they couldn’t. I asked them what I should do-throw up in the middle of the restaurant?! They just shrugged their shoulders as I got worse by the second. So I was forced to make myself throw up in and on the trash can in the middle of the place while everyone in the place watched. The staff did nothing. Not all the stuck food came up so my friends had to walk me very painfully back to our hotel where I could get the rest up. Staff who wouldn’t make an exception, you’re a bunch of cowards. Maybe your New Year’s resolution should be to be less cowardly human beings.

This Subway often has a very long wait, and the bread they use is often stale. I still like their subs and their staff are not rude but service could improve a lot.

Was staying at the Standard just a few skips away, and didn’t want to eat at the restaurant in there again(although it wasn’t bad at all). The 24 hours was pretty cool. The soda machine was broken, so they offered me a bottled soda. I said I wanted a fountain drink, so they right then and there called the guy. Took me about 30 min to eat… the guy was there before I left, and quickly fixed it. They only got 4 starts because I had to ask the girl 6 different times to put on more pickles… Apparently…6 pickles is «extra» on a foot long.

All subway’s are practically the same. They have the same ingredients, same sandwiches, and same lay-out. The only thing that sets them apart is the service you receive at each location and how well they decide to prepare your meal. This location is always crowded but the employees try to keep the line moving along. The only issue with this is they sometimes confuse your orders and it consumes even more time. This location sometimes had decent service to horrible service. There is also a lack of seating at this location. There are not enough chairs for each of the tables.

I don’t think many people check out Unilocal to see reviews about Subway. It’s the biggest fast food chain on the planet and we’ve all enjoyed their foot long subs but what makes like this Subway even more than most, to the point where I decided to give them a Unilocal review, is the fact that they’re open 24⁄7! The only thing that could make a Subway even better is making it open ’round the clock so no matter what time of day it is, when that craving hits for a tasty foot long sub comes you know you can run and get one! This location is especially clutch due to all of the nightlight in Downtown. That’s how I found out about it being open 24 hours. We were leaving a bar and wanted some food when we noticed that Subway was open. Everyone likes Subway so we decided to pop in for a tasty 2AM sub… nothin better!

For a business that serves thousands of regulars lunch downtown they could have put up signage ahead of time that there were closing for a day long remodel. You lost one customer and hopefully many more. I walk with minutes to spare on a short lunch break and went without lunch today. They are a solid location otherwise but apparently the ownership fell asleep on this one.

At lunch time this place gets really crowded. I would avoid it at that time. If you are looking for a late night meal, go to this location. It’s not crowded, it’s clean, and the service is prompt. This is probably one of the better Subway’s in DTLA.

The food here is… well, like any other Subway, the only reason I’m giving it one star is because I ordered food through the Subway app. It was supposed to be ready for me to pick up and it wasn’t. Not only was it not ready, but they weren’t even working on it. They claimed they never got the order. I know it went through because I got a confirmation email, but ok. I had to stand in line during lunch which, for those of you who know DTLA, meant the line was pretty long. I had to re-order my food. The only reason I didn’t walk out is because other people from the office had ordered food as well. Just saying, I’m glad I opted for paying cash and didn’t pay in advance.

Worst customer service ever. The other night we were walking around and just wanted something super easy. We smelled freshly baked cookies and thought that we might be in luck. When we got in a semi long line the person making the sandwich gave my boyfriend 4 inches or so of a sandwich and tried to tell him that it was a 6 inch sub. Then when asked for soup and cookies, the lady at the counter took her time with us, but helped other customers behind us get things faster. Cookies were cold by the time we got them :( Lastly when getting drinks we learned that the machine was on a remote control system(to keep the bums from sticking around). Staff was super rude. When this was mentioned they just further rolled their eyes and ignored us. I get that it was late at night and you probably don’t want to be at work but geezus.

I probably should of gave subway 3 stars but… at 3am nothing else was open so in my book that’s worth an extra star.

It’s pretty clean, but it’s usually busy, that’s the downside, especially at lunch. They get you in and out pretty fast though.

Out early around downtown LA this week and was up for a breakfast sandwich of sorts. I really like Ocho Mexican Grill, but it isn’t open for breakfast. However, just next door, the Subway here fit the bill. What caught my eye was the breakfast sandwich $ 3 Combo of a breakfast sandwich and a coffee(or drink), and that they offered some great items to add to your sandwich that I have not seen Subway’s before… namely avocado and cilantro. I opted for the Egg and ham sandwich on the flatbread. Some if that with cheese was toastee in the oven then topped with as much of everyjting as you like. The avocado was an extra 60 cents. I think I can cover that! She peeled a new avocado and sliced a quarter of it on to the sandwich along with some cilantro, lettuce, cucumbers, alapenos, and with a little of their chipotle dressing. With a seat outside, it was an unexpected treat. Decent coffee too… all for $ 3(+ 60c for the avocado)…here in downtown LA. Can answer to the reviews about the service. Everyone was friendly and my order was prepared quickly and well. Will repeat.

This is officially the last time I will be going to this location. They are too stingy with the meat! And always crowded I don’t get!!!

They made my sandwich exactly how I wanted it. That and efficiency is all it takes for me to be a happy Subway camper. Come on, who doesn’t like a veggie delite complete with spinach and avocado? Yummmm. Plus! It’s open 24 hours. How awesome is that?

4 Stars Blackout drunk after the bar and it was either the taco truck or here. Didn’t feel like standing up and eating on the sidewalk, so we came here. Service was real cool, meatball sandwich was off the hook(probably cuz i was wasted).

Got the munchies at 2am, but still trying to maintain that figure? This subway is open 24HOURS!!! The workers here seem nice; been here three times and so far each trip has produced consistently great tasting sandwiches. The only downside I’ve encountered is the lack of parking as you are only limited to the street parking.

Subway is subway. Fresh and fast service. Just don’t go there when it’s lunch time.

This is the Subway that almost ruined my relationship with my boyfriend. We thought sharing a footlong sandwich for lunch a few days a week would be healthy and economical. Wrong. We are not sandwich compatible, and this Subway made that fact all too clear by consistently putting mustard on the entire footlong instead of on half. I think our fourth or fifth shared sandwich ended with me in tears. That said, we’ve put our sandwich differences behind us, and we’re doing fine now. I’ve crossed this particular Subway off my list, and I’ve never looked back.
