Summer Fling Truck

Checked out the truck today in downtown LA. They had some cool shirts and case mates, plus Coolhaus ice cream sammies.
Unfortunately, the Summer Fling truck only carried two full-​sized flavors of Coolhaus sammies. They were $ 5 a piece and served as stated below. No mix and match cookie and ice cream flavors like the original Coolhaus truck.
1) Chocolate chip cookie with brown butter & candied bacon ice cream.
2) Chocolate cookie with mint chip ice cream.
They also had mini sugar cookie sammies with horchata ice cream, but those didn’t seem to be a good deal seeing as the regular sammies were palm sized. What would a «mini» look like?!
So how did it taste? I absolutely loved the brown butter with candied bacon ice cream! It was amazing. The creaminess of the brown butter ice cream combined with bits of salty, fatty, sweet bacon. So good! My only gripe was the amount of ice cream I got. It was more like a half scoop compared to the mint chip ice cream serving. I feel jipped!
Cost: With a Starry Kitchen receipt, I got an additional $ 1 off. It was $ 9 for two sammies. Also, if you were to buy one of the t-​shirts ($ 20), you get a free ice cream sammie.

I am all about supporting underground artists and eating ice cream sandwiches. The Summer Fling Truck lets you do both! They are the most super-​nice people ever, AND they actually have fantastic designs for their t-​shirts and cases. Definitely DEFINITELY support them, and get a coolhaus ice-​cream sandwich while you’re at it … you can’t go wrong!

Summer fling sells random things, but oh how it’s a strange sight to see.
I’m not even sure how to describe this new truck rolling on the streets of L.A. It’s a food truck that doesn’t make any food. They sell shirts. Now, I’m not sure if I ever walked out of a club at 2am and thought to myself «My god, I could use a new shirt right now» Because I’m usually hungry for a taco or a bacon wrapped dog.
So the first thing you see is Blood is the new Black logo, the brain child of this clothing designer. So it’s simple — it’s one of the new fusion food trucks converted to sell about 9 different t-​shirts. Which is fine. if you just randomly want a shirt on the street. But I typically don’t.
So what do they have for food? Well, they teamed up with Cool Haus and have some premade cool haus ice cream sandwiches. So I guess there’s that. Yes. Nothing screams summer like ice cream and wearing layers of clothing.
Okay, maybe not.
I guess the concept is interesting. Not really getting it exactly. The truck will be rolling all through out summer. Thus the whole summer fling aspect. Maybe they’ll think of a winter version that sales zip up hoodies.
