I’m vegetarian, and most places that serve vegetarian Mexican food load it up with zucchini and other veggies, which I don’t like much. This place, however, has beans, lettuce, avocado etc on their veggie tacos. The toppings are great, the food is affordable, and tastes incredible!

My favorite taco truck in west LA! The best is they put cilantro, onions and radishes on the side so every person can adjust their toppings for their tacos. Decently priced for everything on their menu. Tons of different options for jarritos — grapefruit and mango have been my favorites! They’re also always open and in the same spot, which helps since sometimes taco trucks aren’t as consistent.

Wow! These tacos where so so good better then my $ 100.00 meal yesterday which was a little dot on my plate. If I’m ever back in this area to visit I will be back. Yummy tacos

Is this the one in the Blue Wave Car Wash? Then YES, I like you. Good tacos. Good salsa sides, and thank you for being in the parking lot of my favorite carwash.

Nothing is quite as satisfying as food-truck tacos, and the tacos at Super Gallito hit the spot as well as anything else I’ve ever had. Pastor is excellent and not too greasy, the asada is well-prepared and the salsa/onions/limes on the table out front wrap the whole experience and is a great place to make friends coming back from the bar at 2:00. My only complaint is that it takes a litttttttle bit too long. PS. ADDAVOCADOS! It’s only like 25 cents per taco. So delicious and an awesome deal.

Visit this truck today… The one on La Cienega and Sawyer is my usual Tacos El Gallito truck! I love Tortas de buche and the Champurrado! Great place!

Interesting location, right next to a car wash but that means no problem finding parking! You will need the parking because it seems like the service is a bit unorganized, and we were waiting almost 30 minutes for 1 taco. I also got the veggie burrito and I don’t know what it is, maybe the way they season their rice or something but it was AMAZING. When it finally did arrive, it was warm and filling. The staff was also a bit rude. They have tomatoes, onions, salsas, and avocado dips available to add onto your tacos or burrito.

3.5 star for the quality of food, 0.5 for the location and availability. I swear everytime I want to eat at a taco truck, this one is open. The carnitas are usually quite dry, as are all the other meats. But they are also usually drenched in grease. The meat is low quality, but that’s what you get. Oh well… It’s good enough for me late at night.

Huge portions. The burrito is really well put together. It’s spicy enough but not overbearing. A nice quick spot to feed your craving.

They are very generous with the portions! This is the Super Gallito instead of the regular El Gallito and I don’t know the difference. They have a taco truck up the street and just recently opened this location. I got some tacos and rice and beans. I was really impressed by the amount of food I got. There were enough meat in the tacos for an extra one! I got the carne asada and even though I thought they were just average I will definitely be back to try the chicken tacos. I wish they offered more menu items like enchiladas but they do offer tamales(chicken and pork only). I would love to see some cheese and beef tamales! The wait was a little long but that usually happens when restaurants first open. Can’t wait to try more things on the menu! Will definitely update my review after I try the sopes and tres leches cake!

Affordable, authentic and most importantly walking distance from my apartment. Tacos are $ 1.50, and reasonably sized. Tortas, quesadillas and burritos weigh in at $ 6. They’re available with any meat you can think of, including carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, lengua and chorizo. The salsa station is open bar, and some people basically go grocery shopping for diced onions, cilantro and limes. So like the LEGO Movie, everything at El Galito is awesome. There may be tastier, cheaper taco trucks out there, but this is way better than driving to East LA.

Just went here for pastor, pollo, and asada taco. Ordered side of rice and beans but when I came home ready to eat I noticed they had forgotten to put the rice and beans in the bag. Great tacos and salsas though. Wish I had known about the grilled onions and jalapeño. Will be back!

Cheap. Good. Reliable. When you’re hungry and stressed while studying for finals up until 2am in the morning, there’s nothing better than some late night tacos and horchata to wash away your tears. Taco trucks are amazing, and El Gallito is one of the best taco trucks around West LA, although not better than El Chato. However, unlike El Chato, which is only available from 9pm-3am Tues-Sat, El GALLITOISALWAYSAVAILABLE. Morning. Afternoon. Night. Late late night. El Gallito is there for you. Food: The tacos and burritos offered are standard – pollo, carne asada, lengua, cabeza, pastor, carnitas, etc. I’ve tried them all, and I think that they are all tender and delicious. I don’t think that they are as well-seasoned as El Chato’s, but they are tasty nonetheless. Extra meat and cheese will cost extra, but grilled onions and jalapenos are free, which is great. So don’t forget to ask! They are a great compliment for your tacos. They also have standard beverages such as Jarritos, water, and sodas. But I would definitely recommend the horchata. It comes in a pretty good sized cup, and it is really refreshing and sweet; not powdery at the least. In addition, in a table just outside the taco truck, they have the standard condiments: limes, cilantro, diced onions, radishes, and salsa. They have three types of salsa: brown, green, and avocado. The brown and avocado salsa are the spicier ones in my opinion, and the green salsa is your standard tomaillo salsa. But I don’t really like how all of the condiments are on a separate table outside. It just seems kinda unsanitary. Overall, the food here is great and delicious. Tacos are $ 1.50 each, and the horchata is a little less than $ 3. Eating area: Like all taco trucks, there are no chairs or tables, so you basically have to eat standing up, or on the little metal shelf that is attached to the side of the truck. Parking: Parking is pretty easy. In the day time, you can park in the adjacent lot next to the car wash, or on the street with metered parking. At night time, it gets even easier because that’s when the car wash closes, and you can just park in the car wash space. Summary: Come here for lunch if you’re craving some carne asada and pollo tacos. Come here in the middle of the day for a small snack or refreshing horchata. Come here for dinner if you’re feeling adventurous for some cabeza and lengua tacos. Come here at 3am if you’re hungry and tired of crying through midterms and finals. JUSTCOMEHERE.

I appreciate the taco truck. It’s an LA institution. You have to respect taco trucks because they will never let you down. They will be somewhere and mostly close by and at anytime you require to make you a taco to put down and help you get through whatever craving you have. This taco truck is one of the better ones but it is not super tasty, the service is not so great, they are slower than they need to be and they need to create a more hygienic appropriate system of distributing salsas. This is important because there are a lot of undesirable people around and also drunk people with wreck-lace approaches to self service that can create an atmosphere that isn’t so appetizing. The orange rice and the sauces and the quality is not bad at all. If anything, this is a trustworthy truck that you know you won’t get sick from. They are also very generous in giving you grilled onions and jalapeños. But to be honest, most people don’t ask for it because it just doesn’t enhance your taco. That is my second biggest problem, they are way to typical here and they just don’t have that x-factor. I appreciate that this truck is always here and good quality, but they need to step it up more. Step up with cleanliness, service and taste.

I came here on a recommendation from a friend who eats all kinds of great food, and being the Mexican food lover I am, I knew I had to come here. Taco trucks are pretty much always amazing. I have yet to try one that isn’t that great, unless you count the weird fusion ones you see at some festivals. El Gallito is no different. The tacos offered are pretty much standard – lengua and cabeza are also here if that’s your jam, but I opted for one pollo, one carne asada, and of course one carnitas. Each and every one was very tender and delicious, but if I had to choose, I would definitely opt for the pollo; the carne asada and carnitas were good but I didn’t find them as shining as the chicken. The fact that you can ask for some grilled onions and jalepenos on the side is pretty awesome; don’t forget! They are so so good as a complement to your tacos and/or burritos – a bit of each in between bites is just heavenly. The cilantro, onions, limes, and sauces both red and green are on a table outside the truck, and there really is no seating, so people pretty much take their paper plates and eat standing up. My two friends and I, though, decided to drive to the gas station across the street and basically eat the tacos leaning outside my dope Prius C. Oh yeah, I simply HAVE to mention the horchata – I really, really thought it was extremely refreshing. It wasn’t powdery in the slightest, and I have to say that the cinnamon wasn’t as strong as other horchatas I’ve had in the past. The milk really shined through the most, and thus I would say this would be a good starter horchata for those who aren’t used to it. I thought it was sweet and delicious, and I definitely am going to order it every single time I’m here. Parking is easy; it’s an adjacent lot. Prices are average; it’s about $ 1.50 a taco, ~$ 3 for the horchata. It’s open ’til like 4 A.M. here, so basically it’s like always open whenever you want a taco. My friend is the best ever for recommending this place, and as YOUR friend through this interesting place we call Unilocal,I DEMANDYOUCOMEHERE… If you want.

I give this truck a 3. I would give it a 5, but this last time I came here was pretty disappointing and deserves a one. Usually, I order a carne asada quesadilla, which is cheesy goodness. They put so much cheese and it’s one of the better quesadillas I’ve had! However, this last time, something possessed me to order a carne asada burrito. Worst. Decision. Ever. It literally had a piece of meat/cartilage/fat that was the size of my palm. I gag thinking about it *gags* soooooooo grossssssss. I’ve been scarred! I’m going to give this place another chance in a couple months once I’ve fully recovered from that incident because I really do love this place a lot. The cilantro/salsas/onions/limes that they have sitting out are so awesome too. Also, when you get your food, you can ask for a grilled onion and/or jalapeños for the freeeeee! You’re welcome.

Tacos El Gallito are like a bite of Mexico City in West LA. Perfect for a quick meal that is full of authentic flavor. Their horchata is refreshing, though I wish they also had jamaica. A former downside of El Gallito was that they didn’t accept credit cards… but now they do! Just in time for summer nights, when it’s fun to eat right on Santa Monica boulevard. I have to say that I’ve gotten an upset stomach more than once after having their tacos. But honestly, that’s never been enough to stop me from coming back. Tacos El Gallito are irresistible!

I used love this place until today. First of all their employees here are rude! Second of all the prices went up, the burritos used to be 5 $ and now are 6 $, but the size remained the same, so whatever. Today I was driving by and I see there are a few people in line. So I wanted to grab burrito for lunch. What do you know they pick and choose who to serve when they are«closed» According to Unilocal they are closed until 5, but they were cooking, and serving other customers. In front of me were 2 customers. They put their orders through. And when it came to me putting the order the woman left. And after waiting for several minutes some guy comes and rudely says«5» 5 what? 5 minutes? He wasn’t clear on what he was saying. So I got pissed off and left. And what do you know they open at 5, but decided to serve the other customers, but stopped with me. Never will I be back here.
