This is such a great late night place to get some great food. Weekends get packed and during the week its a lot calmer. Its also a order and eat at yiur car type of place. My kids love the food there as well. Customer service is good as well.

I love their champurrado!!! And every now and then i give the tacos & burritos a try but they are just not good. They are flavorless and do not taste fresh. Today was the last time. Champurrado will be the only thing i get from here.

This truck has been here for eons. Tacos El Gavilan has definitely expanded over Los Angeles. There is another Tacos El Gavilan down the street. This truck is located in the parking area next to a mechanic shop. These tacos are really good and I definitely like the tacos de buche here rather than other places. Parking is limited. It’s not your typical eating establishment, because parking is limited but people traffic seems to flow in and out very easily. There isn’t a place to sit either. What really stands out(IMO) is the myriad condiments at their condiment bar. I’m glad I can still visit after a decade has gone by.

neat, fast and delicious! Service is on point, not much of a wait. Does get crowded evenings and especially weekends. Champurrado is delicious on cold nights!

Ehh I just don’t see what all the hype is about. This is LA. And they’re tacos are pretty good. But everyone has amazing tacos in LA. So at that point it boils down to price point. I think these(correct me if I am wrong) are one fifty. Which wont get me back in the door since soooooooooo many people are going JUST as good a Taco for a dollar. Also is not too fast I had to wait quite a bit for mine.

Great place to hit up for tacos. I usually like the Al Pastor tacos; the carne asada ones are all right too. The tacos are $ 1.25 each. They are not the largest tacos but they’re decent sized. Shortly after you order, the tacos are prepared quickly. I’m sure the meat and stuff is already done but the tortillas are vaporized upon order. The provided limes and radish add more flavor to the tacos. It’s CASHONLY so bring some dough and enjoy the tasty tacos in your mouth! They make good meals, snacks, and even late-night grubs!

For those who don’t know this is the first tacos gavilan. the franchise first started with this taco truck(1992), and in my opinion its definitely one of the best taco places in L. A till this date… Tacos are not too small, quick service, self-serve ingredients, and re asonable prices. After the clubs or bars, tacos el gavilan is the place to be! if you can’t get parking, just go to the other corner down main. They have another taco truck with more parking space, same great taste.

I have had Mexican food throughout my life and also my mom’s cooking. But trust me when I say«This place rocks!» I have visited this place over and over with my girlfriend and family members ant the tacos and Burritos beats any other taco chain I have visited. Very tasty and fresh. Pro: They have side ingredients to add to your tacos or burritos such as radish, cooked onions, red & green Chile sauce, onions and etc. Con: Watch out for the street camera light on the corner of this restaurant

I love their carnitas quesadilla & mulitas. I think the ones in corn tortillas are the mulitas and the ones in the flour are the quesadillas. The dude lectured me once but I forgot. Anyway those are my favorite. The champurrado is always yummy as is the horchata. Their tacos are always good. Plenty of different types of meat to pick from. Their side table has salsa, beans and other items that you would like to put in your food. Btw you can ask the cooks to toss in some grilled green onions, if that’s your thing. This place is always crowded. Parking can be an issue. People that get a spot on the lot usually decide to eat there meaning no to go spots available.

I might be biased here cause I live down the street and have been coming here for years. El Gavilan serves up tacos properly. You got your asada, al pastor, lengua, chorizo, pollo and carnitas. You wanna get fancier, go somewhere else but that’s all you need man. You take a nice lil’ variety of tacos of the above mentioned meats and you’re set. Flavorful meat and taste fresh, all of them. The tortillas are slightly bigger so you definitely get full with $ 5 – 6.(Tip: I usually take off one tortilla off of the tacos, at the end i take all the meat left over and make me an extra taco or two. They load these things up.) In addition they have tasty champurrado and Horchato and whatever sodas they got sitting in the taco truck ice bed. And a taco ain’t complete without adding your favorite toppings. They got: Frijoles, red salsa, green salsa, guacamole salsa, cilantro and onions, cilantro/onions/tomatoes, steamed whole onions, radishes, lemons and jalapenos with carrots. Dude, that’s it. Breakfast, Lunch AND dinner is served. This spot is THESPOT! They got Main and Gage on lockdown. Plus they just opened a legit spot on Vernon and Broadway. Giving King Taco a run for their money.

Okay so they have another Taco Truck on the opposite corner. YES, that’s how good they are… THEYGOTBOTHCORNERS –AND— THEYAREBOTHBUSY. This is a place to go when you want to keep it real and have some real mexican tacos… y que!?! The parking is better on the NE corner(tire shop is SW corner) AND you get mesas and chairs. The guerito is nice and they got jokes. I love me the tortas, tacos, burritos you say it I love it. I usually order tacos de lengua or asada but I’ve tasted them all and they all get the seal of approval. Oh yeah, their horchata is good, their atole nice on a cold night. It’s right off the 110 too so it’s got easy access. A-hoooooo-aa!

a taco truck located in the tire shop… they have a security guard and a restroom, not to mention the little homie selling bootleg dvd’s and cd’s along with phone accessories, so you know the tacos are decent… they are located in south la on the corner of main st and gage ave everyday after 7 pm… anytime you are lounging in downtown stop by and get some tacos, way better than taurino’s. Asada Pastor Lengua Chicken Chorizo tacos are $ 1.25 and are pretty big they have all the sauces, beans, and grilled onions does not get a 5 because of the small selection of meat, but very very delicious
