Authentic Caribbean food with excellent service, I would highly recommend this place, very unique!

Service here suck. My order took forever to come out and when it did it was wrong. I Was given dirty silverware, ordered a drink and it never came out, and I specifically asked for water with no ice 3 times. First time it was ice water and the other times it just never came. Highly highly disappointed in this place and never coming back. I never ate. Wouldn’t recommend this place to no one… No one. Truly bad.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve encountered ever. We came here for a birthday dinner. We were asked to sit out on the patio, in the dark. We being an accommodating group had no problem with this. Then came the food, or the lack there of. We ordered with the waiter and everything seemed fine. Then on 3 different occasions, was told a majority of what we ordered wasn’t available. What we did order came out late, cold, over salted and over cooked. They tried to compensate with a free appetizer meal but we received the check with the«free appetizer» included. Please stay away and save yourself the agony of bad food and horrible service. I’m not a not an avid Unilocal reviewer but this experience prompted me to write this.

Boooooooomb jerk chicken!!! Gets the clean plate seal of approval! Call before you go to make sure they’re open but if they are just go. Friendly owner and super amazing Caribbean food. Delicious :)

This was probably the worst Jamaican Food I ever tasted after waiting over 30 minutes for Jerk Chicken to come off the grill I expected it to be very good. Instead it was dry and lacking that Jamaican Flavor. They also did not even give a lot of food. I’m from NY and, I know good authentic Caribbean food and this is not a taste of the Caribbean. I have tried other Caribbean places in the LA area and the best that can come close is Wi Jammin on Pico/Redondo Blvd.

As a Jamaican who recently relocated to the west coast it’s been a struggle trying to find good Jamaican food. This was a pleasant find. The overall experience was truly 1 star. I really wanted to like them they do have some grounds to make up as far as providing a first class experience for diners. The food was awesome though and that alone was worth the extra 2 stars. The Bad The layout was terrible. One suggestion would be to take down the umbrellas after dusk. No need to have them up at night. Also add signage for the bathroom. Items on the menu were«out» and the servers sometimes come back and tell you an item is out after you already had your mind set on it. Service was slow The beef patty was lukewarm at best The Good The chef is very friendly and his charm will make up for some of the bad. The food was phenomenal. Parking is mostly on the street though I think there is

Awesome place with a sweet chef. The place is a little tricky to find. My friend and I went here for a awesome brunch with Unlimited rum punch. The delish Carrib food kept coming out fresh and the rum kept Pouring. The chef interacted wit all of his customers with a friendly demeanor:) I would go here again

Delicious food and great people. Service needs some work, but the wait staff did everything possible to make our time here as enjoyable as possible. Food was made to order, and worth the wait. I highly recommend.

I would NOT recommend this place, while the staff are friendly, the food is awful. I tried the Oxtail and it was a real disappointment. Also, the rice and peas isn’t authentic. Caribbean rice and peas isn’t made with basmati rice!

This spot is hard to find, but so very much worth the effort. My beat friend and I headed out to find the place and got there about 8:45. Chef Bernard came out introduced himself to us and sat us down at a table. They had already started packing up for the evening, but brought all the tables and chairs down just so we didn’t feel incomfortable! One of the most thoughtful things I have experienced at a restuarant. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and my friend ordered the Oxtail. We asked for it spicy. Oh lawdy. That was THEBEST oxtail I have ever had. Hands down, bar none. It was tender, juicy, flavorful, and sweet with the right amount of kick. The Jerk Chicken sauce was incredible, I just wish there was more sauce. Because his jerk sauce is OUTSTANDING. We will be coming back. We will be coming to check out brunch. We will be regulars. This is some of the best, well designed, well crafted carribean food in LA.

As a couple u shouldn’t rip them off on Valentine’s Day offering us jerk chicken($ 14) & jerk shrimp«both under $ 20 each» just to bring a tab of $ 57. Told us there’s no refills with WATER. Didn’t check on us the entire service, the food came in small portions; half a chicken breast &6 small shrimps for it all to be $ 57.really?! I never been so neglected in a restaurant like this. To top it off ripped off with the price and that didn’t fulfill my satisfaction for it to be that much for so little. It was really unacceptable!

So I wasn’t actually planning on eating here tonight, but I accidentally ended up stepping through the kitchen door while searching for another restaurant! But I was too hungry to try to look for another restaurant, so I decided to stay. And I’m glad that I did. Chef B himself was awesome, and I could tell he really loves and takes pride in his work. He was also very hospitable, and agreed to serve us take out orders, despite the restaurant itself being closed. AND he brought them out to us himself, describing each dish in detail, which I appreciated. Apparently, a lot of famous hip hop artists eat here too. In fact, I only spotted the door when I saw Wale walking out holding a bag of food. He even held the door open for me, which was pretty dope haha. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~the food~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First to come out was ackee and saltfish. I was previously not a fan of saltfish, due to a past experience at another restaurant. but I wanted to give it a shot here. Chef B’s rendition of the dish has restored my faith in it. The saltfish itself wasn’t too salty at all, and was balanced out nicely with rice and fresh greens $ 12 After the success of the first dish, I had to try one of his most popular dishes(courtesy of Unilocal recommendations), the Jerk Shrimp. It wasn’t as spicy as i expected, but the flavors were nice and vibrant. And the shrimp was tender and moist. Another success $ 12 Overall, this place was quite a fortunate discovery. The food was really good, and Chef B made the experience great. I’ll definitely be back. **p.s. He caters, so hit up Chef B for that Caribbean Jerk plug**

I should have done this review wayyyy earlier. First of all i love the location and the setting as well as the lights and flags they have strung up. The customer service was excellent and the food was even more so. The jerk chicken tasted like home snd the plantains were just right. Tried some curry shrimp(i think) tacos with my friend and they were spectacular. Im not normally a fan of fish tacos but i was sold that night. I definitely plan on checking it out again! The chef was really cool too, he came over to see how the food was. Its a great place to eat!

Oxe tail — $ 20, it just tasted like shredded beef. Nothing special and no need to return. I would only eat it if it was free. The service was almost nonexistant.

Let’s start with what we liked. The jerk shrimp starter. Man, bomb. It wasn’t cooked too tuff. Perfect. Shark taco was good too. Curry shrimp taco was a 4⁄5 on taste. That jerk sauce is hard to resist. Rum punch good. Have I had better sure. But this was good. Jerk chicken taco was good. Lobster tasty Onto the other things: It’d be nice if the toppings for the tacos were different so you could tell them apart better. Plantains. We like them sweet and soft and this was not the case. They could have been made into toastones. The Ackee and salt fish taco wasn’t good. Smell was off to me sooooo couldn’t eat it but chef thought was fine. There was no sorrel and no patties. It was the waitresses first day. We had laughs and she was nice.

By far the best carribean food I’ve had in Los Angeles !! Let me start with the Jerk Shrimp ! It’s an explosion of flavors. Not for people who don’t like spicy food tho. Cooked perfectly. By far a favorite ! My hands down favorite tho has to be the OX tail! Iam in love literally melts off the bone. Sweet & tender !!! Did I say I was in love? So happy to have found this place. Best part is that it’s opened till 3 am !!! What ??? Everyone needs to experience this place. You’ll thank me once you do. Service was great. Super friendly and attentive ! Over all I give this place a A+ !

STAYTHEHELLAWAYFROMTHEHOTSAUCE. Or at least taste with caution. It’s hot. I put way too much. I hella regretted it later when I was on the toilet. I got a jerk chicken taco and a jerk shrimp taco — both were good, and the taco is a pretty filling size. Nothing really blew me away. However, the location and atmosphere of this place is super charming — it’s outdoors in an alleyway. Gives off a super«hole-in-the-wall» feel.

My friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant after a night at a nearby lounge. It was the best decision we made all weekend. We all ordered the jerk chicken, with rice and peas, and cabbage. Chef Bernard prepared everything to order. We were all in amazement at how delicious the food was(best cabbage ever). The prices are modest; the food is excellent, the service is A1. If you want some good Caribbean cuisine in LA, go here! Trusssmidaddy. –Jersey

I lived in the Caribbean for a few years and I can honestly say this food is authentic and delicious! I had a craving for some Caribbean cuisine and found myself here! Lots of good reviews and well deserved. The owner and the young girl working there were so pleasant. They were welcoming and were genuine. It’s hard to find a business owner that cares about the quality and presentation of his food! Even my to-go order looked so presentable. I’m glad to know that if I ever get a craving for jerk chicken I know where to go!

Anyplace that I can get SHARK in LA is a win in my book! As a true West Indian, not sure I would consider this«authentic», but it’s pretty damn close and a really good fusion eatery. The taco menu options were plentiful. We ordered the shark taco and thought it was really tasty. The fresh coconut was a nice refreshing treat as well… although, they need a damn cutlass and a Trini to open it properly! Great food truck and looking forward to visiting their new actual storefront restaurant!
