«$ 25 dollah, make you hollah»! It will definitely make you hollah, but not in a good way. I work in the City National Bank tower above and pass by this small barber shop tucked away in the corner of the«A» level of the subterranean floors. The shop is about a 10 feet x 10 feet space with two barbers, each with their own chair. For the most part, I see men in there getting their haircut mid-day possibly on their lunch breaks or before a client meeting. It may be the convenience of the location, or that they give you candy while you wait to get your haircut, but they are still open. The shop is ran by two older gentlemen possibly in their 60’s. I should have known by how old the barbers were and the demographic of old men who usually cut there to stay away, but I was desperate for a cut. I went in during lunch and they told me to set an appoint for the next day, so I did. I came back and asked for my standard regular haircut. I asked if I could get a «number 1» towards the bottom and he told me he couldn’t do it?! So he cut off the lower portion of my head with what seemed to be a «number 2 or 3» then used the«texture scissors» to cut the rest of my head, you know, the one they normally use to thin out your hair to give it «texture». Maybe it’s the thing of the past or maybe they’ve been cutting hair of men who are balding too much, but my hair looked so thinned out after he cut it that I looked like a dog who just jumped out of the bath. Lesson learned, never going there again.
