The Broad Foundation

I had a blast seeing the Broad-​sponsored john waters/​jeff koons event at the Orpheum last night… However, some of the staff hired by the Broad/​Library Foundation are pretty terrible.
This black lady working upstairs that night, who was guarding the vip seating (wearing a black jacket with sequins; before the show started she moved to the opposite end of the room and was replaced by a male staffer), had a really stank attitude; when I approached the section she said, ‘Those are reserved!’. As I walked away I said, Ok, but I don’t see any signs. She yelled back, ‘The signs are right over THERE [at the end of the row]; that’s why i’m telling YOU!’ There’s a certain way to treat a patron and I thought she was unnecessarily rude to me when i was walking away from that section. I also saw her attitude and demeanor shift when some old white guys walked by… what is your deal lady? You gotta respect everybody and I did not appreciate the tone or attitude or power trip.
