Great restaurant– service was good. I always order the 1⁄3 veggie with feta, kale, corn, ardi choke. They have this lemon vinaigrette that’s so good/highly recommend. Also ordered the trio fries order that comes with regular fries/onion rings and sweet potato fries. If you like chili cheese fries/order them here. Great size for sharing.

The key to designing your own burger is to pick a theme and go with it — The Counter literally has a bajillion toppings options and it’s easy to get overwhelmed and ruin your burger by adding everything. I think it used to be that you had to design your own burger but now there are some pre-suggested options, so I would even recommend going with one of those — they all looked awesome! I had the veggie burger and added a bunch of veggies on top with the multigrain bun and it was really delicious! For a side I got the sweet potato fries, which were served with an awesome horseradish dipping sauce — the combo of sweet and savory was perfect. Overall it was a really yummy meal. Everyone else at my table ordered beef burgers and unfortunately the cook was a little inconsistent — even though they ask you(i.e., ‘That’s pink, ok?’) the burgers still came out a random assortment of colors for the same cook. That being said, this is a chain restaurant, not a steakhouse so not everything can be perfect. Lastly, all of the shakes look amazing here, so I’m sure I’ll be back soon to get one!

I love this place. Servers are always pleasant and know that it is a high traffic area — they are prepared to take our order and get those fries on the table STAT. Tonight we had Gerardo and he was nice, friendly and helpful with our dietary needs. GIVEHIM A RAISE! Bravo!!! See you soon! JK

Extremely good. I love how you are the master of your own meal. You can customize from the bun right down to the meat sauce toppings and cheese that you want. 1/3lb is more than enough as it is very filling when you add in the sweet potato fries to top. I had a brioche bun with sautéed mushrooms smoked Gouda cheese avocado roasted garlic aioli with the beef burger and it was just stunning. The only thing I would say is be careful how many toppings you include as you could end up with a lot leftover! In the end I had to ditch the remainder of my bun just to get to the good bit and polish it off. Well worth it though! Great low key place and unpretentious. The server seemed almost bored though(I guess because many of the orders they probably get are completely custom) and did little more then ask us what we wanted to drink hence knocking off a star. Would have been great to hear her talk through what combos work, her favorite flavors, the craziest combinations she had ever seen. But still had a great time.

I LOVE the counter! I love that I get to customize and have unlimitless toppings. Here’s what I order — 1⁄3 turkey on bed of kale with smoked Gouda pineapple, corn and bean salsa, sprouts, sundried tomatoes, quinoa, grilled onions, hard boiled egg, And avocado(1.25 more) with a sauce flight of three sauces usually Dijon balsamic and two new ones each time I come and the meal is not only DELICIOUS but so super filling and I always walk out with leftovers. Definitely try the Parmesan fries and the sriracha fries if like sweet and mildly spicy. Also, four wines for only $ 9? Perfect amount and I got my satisfaction for red wines :) Love this place and will keep coming back!!!

This is my first visit to the Counter in the Century City location, but I have been to the one in El Segundo a bunch of times. This location is inside the Westfield Century City Mall, in the main shopping level underneath Pink Taco. We came in on a Tuesday night so it was relatively empty. We ate at the bar so we can watch the NBA playoff game. It’s a build your own burger location, which is a fun concept. I am not all that adventurous when it comes to burgers so I usually get a relatively conservative hamburger. I normally get the beef hamburger on a brioche bun, with Tilamook Cheese, garlic aioli, and veggies(tomatoes, pickles, hot peppers, red onions, and grilled red onions). They let you pick only one cheese and sauce, but the toppings(veggies, etc.) are unlimited. I think that the burgers are pretty good, but it’s a little on the pricey side. Also, I think that the beef in the hamburgers are not as tender and juicy for the price that you pay. Another complaint that I have is that the bun on my hamburger always falls apart, so it makes for a messy meal.(If you are on a date, maybe order another bun or a bowl.) Overall, a pretty decent burger place to eat if you want to upgrade from from your normal fast food. Make sure to check in on Unilocal! They give you a free side of French fries.

An unpretentious touch to the high-brow shopping experience at the Century City mall. You can make your own burger or salad bowl. The toppings are as simple or as complex as you want to make them. The flavor is fresh and full. I highly recommend this restaurant. MYFAVMEAL: — ground turkey patty — organic mixed lettuce — roasted red peppers — sun dried tomatoes — jalepeños — grilled pineapple Plus sweet potato fries and their horseradish aioli sauce. (sweet potato fries can be shared if you eat a normal sized portion of food.)

Generally a fan of The Counter as they try a differentiated approach to burgers offering a variety of meat choices such as turkey, bison, chicken and beef. However, one knock I have on this location is that the quality of food is inconsistent. Some days, it’s amazing, other days, the fries are served warm /cold and the burgers vary between over salted and bland.

One of the server girls needs to change her attitude, or customers will be turning away like we did! Is it too much to ask? To be seated outside? Don’t roll your eyes up and act like you are doing so much above and beyond!

Good solid location of this popular Burger place. Love the Burger in a Bowl, as I’m sure those people cutting out Gluten will too. Burgers are cooked to order and to your liking. Always cooked perfectly. Very broad menu with plenty of choices for anyone. They even have Bison! Service was fair. But, that won’t keep me away. Don’t care for the fact that it is located in a mall, I prefer the stand alone locations. However, sitting on the patio is nice… If you can find a spot. Oh, and it can get very loud at times. If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to get a bite, this is not a quiet place.

Suzie Q’s Fun Facts: The Counter was founded in Santa Monica in 2003. Most locations are independently owned and operated franchises. =≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅~ I’ve never had a bad meal at The Counter. That’s the beauty of chain restaurants: Predictability and consistency. I’ve been to this location a couple of times. On this occasion, it was past 9 pm and my friends and I were looking for a post-movie food fix. Most places were closed, but we were relieved that The Counter was open. It wasn’t busy, and we were seated immediately. Typically, I build my own burger(for the curious, my «regular» is: 1⁄3 lb. 100% natural chicken breast, Greek Feta, homemade Tzatziki sauce, black olives, peperoncinis, roasted red peppers, lettuce mix, red tomatoes and red onion, with a whole wheat bun). However, on this occasion, I was in a celebratory mood. There were so many tantalizing-sounding pre-designed options that I couldn’t resist ordering something different. So I ordered the«Bison With Bite»: Organic bison, Tillamook cheddar, sliced red onion, spicy pickles, house mustard, spicy Worcestershire and brioche bun. My friends and I also ordered Sweet Potato Fries and Fried Dill Pickle Chips to share, which came out first. The fries were dependably good, but consensus on the pickle chips was more mixed. One friend, an expert on such matters as she’s from the deep South, pronounced that The Counter didn’t use high-quality dill pickles. So they were kind of bland and not very flavorful.(She was right.) My bison burger, however, was perfectly cooked and delicious. Although I couldn’t quite finish it, and it wasn’t immediately apparent how this bison burger had«bite» more than any other hamburger would. Throughout the night, our server was friendly and helpful, but not obtrusive. Our check came promptly, and we were released back into the night.

This place was packed at 6 on a Saturday night. There were a lot of families with little kids and groups of middle schoolers hanging out. I got the custom built burger bowl style and thought it was such a great value for the buck. You can put as many toppings as you want! I got the 1⁄3 lb meat and got soooooo full from the rest of my salad. All the ingredients are super fresh. I love how they organized all my toppings in such a nice symmetrical way. My huge burger salad only cost $ 10.50. That is definitely a steal considering my meal consisted of top quality ingredients in huge portions. The only weird thing about my meal was the I ordered the horseradish aioli as my sauce for the meat but as I was eating my salad, I realized that the horseradish aioli didn’t fit well as a salad dressing. And then I remembered I wasn’t eating a salad, I was eating a burger«bowl» style. I did the Unilocal check in and asked if I could replace the fries with sweet potato fries and the manager happily obliged. The sweet potato fries come with horseradish aioli. I just like to eat my fries with ketchup so I use the sauce for my burger and order another sauce with my burger order so that I can have variety! :) I definitely want to come back and bring my crazy two year old nephew. He can make all the noise he wants and no one will notice because this place is LOUD!

It didn’t capture my attention 10 times I’ve been to this mall. Pink Taco, Gulfstream, Season 52, or Rocksugar usually get me. But I really wanted a burger, so it is a burger I will get. Plus, free fries(or o-rings) with a Unilocal check-in. A nice little patio out front is usually very busy, but not on a scorcher like today. Inside, hip music with a beat but too low beneath the loud chatter, musician themed large covered artwork adorn the walls, and 30 or so tables accompany the«counter» that seats 12. I like the feel of it. I can really see myself getting down to burger business here since that is a business I take very seriously. 1. Burger made by Berger: 1⁄3 pound beef; Brioche bun; Horseradish cheddar; Dried cranberries; Ortega Chilies; Basil pesto sauce; Onion confit. Nice taste when assembled, but lacks umph and eye closing /private moments.(4.0 stars) 2. Onions rings, fine shoestring, are hard to take without a fight.(4.0 stars) With drafts and fine shakes, it’s hard NOT to come here. Service by a smiley gal was nice and efficient.

Came in here with 30minutes to spare for lunch. Grabbed a seat at the counter, Wanted something reasonably healthy, so I opted for the Sonora burger in a bowl. The dish was very nicely done. The bed of greens were crisp and fresh, no slimy leaves or wilted anything. The onions and tomato slices were flavor grenades! No «oniony» heat from the grilled red onions, and the tomatoes were delightfully sweet and warm. The goat cheese was creamy but rich. A little too much on the plate for me, but it added complexity and depth to carry the onion, and tomato flavors nicely. The burger was a perfect medium rare, tender but held it’s shape to a knife and fork without crumbling all over the place or having the texture of tire-rubber. Bits of quinoa were sprinkled here and there, which I thought have the salad a nice«al dente» feel to it instead of just being the boring«green stuff under my burger». I do feel that $ 16 is a bit pricey for the portion size. I would want to see significantly more salad, onion and tomato in a bigger bowl for that price point. This is not what I would call a destination restaurant. They don’t validate parking, and there is no curbside takeaway, so unless you are already enduring the century city parking garages, I wouldn’t make a special trip. But if you’re at the mall and you do want a good meaty plate of goodness for a slightly expensive but not-exorbitant sum, and you want it reasonably fast, then the Counter is a very nice option. I give them a solid four stars.

Homerun. The Counter has awesome burgers and awesome side dishes and awesome drinks and is full of pure awesomeness. I love the create your own burger feature. I’m all about a personalized burger, and The Counter sets the standard for personalizing your burger. Once seated, a jam-packed sheet of toppings, cheeses, meats, buns, and side dishes is handed to you, and it is all fun and games from that point forward. For me, it’s a beef burger on a brioche bun with cheddar cheese, pickle chips, thousand island dressing and a fried egg. Sweet potatoes fries on the side are a MUST. Best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had in my life, plus the sauce that comes with them is so good I’d drink it. I love The Counter and everything it stands for: to burger topping infinity ANDBEYOND!

I’d been wanting to try the counter for a while so when I saw it at the Century City mall, I decided to stop in and try a burger. I built my burger with a beef patty on a brioche bun, American cheese, mixed greens, red tomatoes, grilled pineapple and onion confit. I also got the sauce flight for $ 0.75 — hickory BBQ sauce, apricot sauce and sweet sriracha. Having gone wrong in the past with being too adventurous with«DIY» meals, I decided to keep it rather simple and it worked well. The burger was well-cooked and nicely seasoned and the combination of the sweet apricot sauce mixed with the spicy sweet sriracha created the perfect sauce to drizzle on my bun. It was also a delicious dipping sauce for my fries. The BBQ sauce was too thick so I didn’t really use it. With my Unilocal check-in I got a free, small order of fries which were skinny and crispy! We also tried the parmesan fries which were good and cheesy and topped with rosemary and parsley. Skip the sliders as they are very tiny and not worth the money. Our server gave me a nice introduction to the menu and the«custom building» process and she was very attentive. Although it was a busy Friday night, we didn’t feel rushed to leave when we finished and in fact, our server continued to refill our drinks. Next time, I think I’ll create a more unique burger and I also plan to try one of their milkshakes!

Nice selection on tap. Jason the bartender was very helpful. Happy hour 3−6pm Came in on a Friday afternoon looking for a quick bite and The Counter was perfect for that. Its basically a place where you build your own burger and they have vast amount of things available to you to help you that. Make it any way you want whether you order a regular burger, turkey burger, veggie burger or a chicken breast. And that have well over 60 – 70 toppings(ranging from cheeses to sauces) you put on your burger to make it the way you want. Good solid burger. I ordered my mine on a pretzel bun which was a little hard for my liking but the burger was still good. And I just wish they had onion rings instead of onion strings. But besides that, food was above average. Nice selection of beers on tap and its also hard liquor if you are interested. Go during Happy Hour where they have $ 2 dollar sliders, ½ apps or $ 2 off drafts and wine. Use your foursquare check-in for free fries.
