The Dupe Media

I’ve been using the Dupe Media for the last 8 years to produce my annual holiday CD that I send to my friends and business associates. John and his lovely wife have never let me down. I send out a double disk compilation with all kinds of graphics and labels. So this is a fairly extensive process. I’d recommend the Dupe for anyone that seeks a hassle free duplication process.

All I can say is I feel «duped.» They had me fooled. We needed CDs duplicated quickly. They promised they could do it. They were day late. That wasn’t really the issue though because they drove all the way from LA to Long Beach to drop them off. That eased the irritation… well temporarily. A month or two later, we see multiple charges from the company on our Amex, not to mentioned, not all of the CDs worked. Yeah, if at all possible, stray away from this company. It’s not worth it.

yeah, no wonder i was stupid.
before i pay the money John (the owner) treated me very well, you can feel he is very responsible. after you pay the money, HE NEVER CALL YOU BACK.
i was FUCKING STUPID to order 500 CDs from him, and my $ 1600 IS GONE.
I called him EVERY SINGLE DAY, and he NEVER PICK UP the phone, i send emails, he NEVER REPLY EMAILS!
finally, he picked the phone, and he told me to be positive that he will give me the CDs, oh well, i was positive enough to wait for 2 months. Am i not positive enough?
i should get my CDs be the end of Feb, but now is April, and i still dont have it. After 10 000 000 000 times of phone calls, after i went over to the shop 3 times, i still dont get the CDs.
NEVER TRUST HIM, DONT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE.

Giving this establishment 1 star is an insult to all the hard earned 1 stars out there. There really needs to be something lower to rate this place.
I dropped off the master for a feature I was having duped to sell at our première and was guaranteed I could pick it up 2 days later. Didn’t end up getting my copies until almost a full week later resulting in my having to pay $ 80 to overnight them to their destination. When I asked for a partial refund because of our schedule being severely behind solely because of him, I was refused saying that he «already waved the setup fee»…which is only charged if you don’t have a master for him to copy – which I did. So, as a result, I did extra work just to have it thrown in my face as a «discount.»
I could go on in detail about how unprofessional and unacceptable John and his work are, but I’d just be echoing the previous ratings. I’ve already warned several productions to steer clear of this joker. I wish I’d Unilocaled this joint 1^st. Never again.

I am actually astonished by the bad review I read about The Dupe Media. I am a musician who produced a television show ten years ago. I had it on an 8 track tape
and it had been knocked around quite a bit. I had a friend try and put it on DVD and despite the fact he is a recording engineer he couldn’t get the quality I wanted in the transference. I was told to try this place and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the DVD they made for me. I needed to have a good visual and audio copy in order to re-​create my musical production with the new recording techniques available today. I wonder if the problems they experienced could be attributed to the fact they made a major move to a new facility and got behind in their production. I also am wondering if someone did a smear job because they are competition. I was treated with friendliness and my project came back at the agreed time. I not only like this establishment, I am telling my friends at Musicians Union 47 to utilize their services
so they can get the quality good musicians demand. From what I can determine the customer who was displeased got his refund in the long run. Bad people never give back refunds no matter what you do. I say give this business a chance before you let three bad reviews affect your decision.

I used The Dupe for Blu-​Ray and DVD duplication for the six-​city theatrical release of my independent film, FOOTPRINTS (footprintsthefilm-​dot-​com). The Blu-​Rays were projected on screens as huge as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre as well as on commercial screens during our theatrical run (Blu-​Ray was our projection source). The DVD-​Rs were sent to the media coast to coast. No glitch during any of the work. All the media they created worked perfectly. All work orders were delivered on time and with excellent communication. Would use them again.

I’m afraid I have to agree with the previous review of The Dupe Media. I cannot recommend going to this place at all. There no refund policy is highly questionable especially if they cannot perform the services they offer. I also asked for a refund because they couldn’t burn a Blu-​ray disc of my film. I offered to pay for part of the fee… John said «No.» I then asked for at least not to be charged for the Bu-​ray discs and John said «No.» I warn anybody not to bring any jobs to this place. I gave them a whole week even though it was initially supposed to be done sooner. John even started to impose the blame on me and how I needed to give him more time. It concerns me that they do not know how to address their own internal issues and have a sense of knowing when to say «I’m sorry, we cannot do this job. Here’s you money back.» That’s being professional. Again… these folks are bad news. Use their services at your own risk.

I’d give this dump no stars if I could. Don’t be fooled by thier quick turnaround times. They never meet their deadlines. The guy who runs the place is named John. He’s a huge jerk. He has his wife Hailey work the counter because he clearly lacks professional and communication skills. I’ve placed two orders with them and both times they couldn’t deliver per agreement. When I asked for a refund John started yelling at me as if we were in some type of dysfunctional white trash relationship. Hmm… creep. Feel sorry for Hailey. Stay away from this place and its emotionally unbalanced and unprofessional owners.
