The menu items on this evening all had very fresh ingredients. The Potato & Ricotta Donut Holes with Cinnamon-Cocoa and Sugar sounded like a good experiment. I was trying something new because I’d ever had in Donut Holes with Potato and/or Ricotta before. Though there were plenty of Donuts Holes in the tray and the temperature was good, the taste of Holes were simply passable. What ruined it for me was the terrible aftertaste. Blech. Maybe other things on the menu looked good good, but I wouldn’t recommend this item.

We hired the Gastrobus for a welcome party for out of town guests the night before our wedding which was hosted at our home. Antonio could not have been more accommodating. He worked with me on our ever-changing numbers of guests, arrived in plenty of time to set up and even managed to get the truck into our driveway in the back which was not easy at all! The food was delicious(all the guests raved about it) and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend using the Gastrobus for any party needs.

Dined here at Eat, See, Hear after waiting in line at a few other trucks and I’m happy I did! The guys in the truck were friendly and expedited the orders quickly. Definitely recommend their Yukon gold potatoes(love the fresh herbs on top) and the Thai chicken wrap(chilled & packed with flavor.)

The french toast is so on point. Pretty much every Sunday that I stop by the farmer’s market I make sure to grab the french toast to-go. I love that they change the dish according to what fruits are in season, so it never gets old. The current mixture: peach, blueberry, and passion fruit is my personal favorite.

This place never lets me down! It’s the main reason I go to the Los Feliz farmers market on Sundays. They’ve never once messed up my order, they’re always polite, and the food is fantastic. If they have an egg-and-pork dish on the menu, GETIT! They are not chintzy with the avocado or the flavor. The fried potatoes are insane, and the donut holes are even more so! And wash it all down with a rickey.

Only being in L.A. for two years, I’ve not quite understood the whole food truck craze. But after eating at Gastrobus two Sundays ago at the Los Feliz farmer’s market, I’m hooked. Everything we ordered was just divine. The sweet potato donut holes with chai sugar sprinkled on top were ridiculously good. My boyfriend ordered something with fried pork chunks, avocado, over easy egg, spinach, sweet plantains, tomatoes and yucca. There was a spicy, citrus sauce on top. Oh. My. God. It was like nothing I’ve ever tasted. We went back and ordered it again the following week. Their all natural«sodas» made with fresh fruits and sparkling water are really delicious, too. This truck has my vote.

Caught this truck at the little Altadena farmer’s market. Had the pulled pork sandwich with pickled onions and avacado. Wowza! It was super good. Good bread, good flavor to the meat. Just delicious overall. Hope to see them there again next week.

The food was delicious! I had a carrot, beet, spinach salad and sweet potato donut holes. Everything was delicious and everyone in the truck was very friendly and helpful. If you haven’t tried this truck definitely check it out!

Big serves of tasty stuff. While attending CoffeeCon 2014 at Mack Sennett Studios, ducked outside for lunch to be greeted by a line of food trucks. I had the ginger Ricky and the fried chicken special. Fried chicken was super juicy — cooked to perfection, no toughness at all. Came with a tangy Apple slaw and crunchy Yukons in full and cream. The Ricky was a bit of a pain — pomegranate seeds kept getting stuck in the thin straw provided. Bigger straws. Can’t fault the service. They somehow lost my order — then realised the problem without prompting — cook set me up with a free refill of my drink while they fried up a fresh serve of chicken. Thumbs up guys!

This reviews concerns the Sunday Los Feliz Farmer’s Market breakfast menu. Their omelets are PERFECT. Best vegetarian omelets in Los Angeles, especially since they include that little ramekin of mild salsa that shouldn’t work on omelets but oh my goodness, works SO well with everything. The Yukon gold crispy potatoes are a must. When my family visited LA for the weekend, The Gastrobus, not one of LA’s many trendy brunch spots, was my breakfast suggestion. There’s no long wait, and since Los Feliz GreenSpace cleaned up the area and added a bunch of picnic tables, it’s an amazing way to enjoy a reasonably priced breakfast and the nice weather. The only minor complaint I have is that I ordered the«Armenian Coffee» thinking it was going to be the thick, sweet coffee with cardamom(similar to Turkish Coffee) I’ve ordered at other restaurants. Instead I got what tasted like bitter black coffee. Not terrible, but kind of disappointing.

I work in Burbank, and we have 3 – 4 different food trucks every day. I’m vegetarian, so most of them don’t appeal to me at all. When I saw the menu for the Gastrobus, though, I had to try it. I had the plum and cucumber salad, the yukon gold crispy potatoes, and the plum nectar. The drink was ok, but the food was really good. Fresh plums and cukes, and a simple, not too sweet dressing. Very refreshing. The potatoes — I feel weird for gushing over a fried potato, but man, it was fantastic. Super simple, just broken open and fried crispy, but not greasy at all. Salted, sprinkled with dill, and just enough garlic aioli. Perfectly done.

One of my favorite trucks, all the bad reviews are people that make no sense on the review they wrote. There just angry people because they didnt get a mountain pile of food. There donut holes with ricotta and sugar is to die for, also the yukon gold potates are crack in a box. I cant stop thinking about it. Im brining my wife and kid here they will love this place, service was also awesome!

I came across the Gastrobus at an Eat See Hear outdoor movie screening. There were around 20 food trucks to choose from so it was a difficult choice, but as soon as I got my food I knew I had made the right decision. I ordered the ricotta banana donuts and the crispy yukon gold potatoes. Both were amazing, and the donuts were some of the best donuts I’ve ever had!

This is the second time Gastrobus has catered for my company and everyone’s been a fan. The workers are very nice and helpful. Shoestring fries with aioli and garlic — I think this one isn’t on their regular menu but it was easily a favorite, nothing super special but very tasty. Thai Chicken wrap — I love how crunchy the wrap was and also the mint added a very refreshing appeal to this chicken wrap. It is fairly large like a burrito and overall tasted very healthy. It doesn’t load you down and feel really heavy either. Turkey Burger — My coworkers love this but I really didn’t enjoy this as much. I felt like it was really bland and needed some special sauce or something to really revive it. Typical burger, nothing special. Wouldn’t get this again. Mint Lemonade — I love love love the mint in the lemonade and it really taste great with the lemonade. Good refreshing drink.

From the start to the end of my meal, gastrobus was a giant fail. Ordered a jamaica drink and it was very watered down. We also ordered a brunch dish with mushrooms, bell peppers and cheese. The dish didn’t have mushrooms! The taste was also on the mediocre side. I will not be returning to this truck.

Before I get nasty messages about this review, know beforehand that I have legitimate reasons as to why I gave The Gastrobus the rating I gave it. First, the prices. $ 8 for a pulled pork sandwich is a bit expensive, but $ 5 for water is just plain ridiculous. The Gastrobus can’t be blamed for this inflation in water prices — the officials at the Coliseum demand that all food stands must charge $ 5 for water. But I was still pissed. Hmph. Our sandwiches weren’t even handed to us. The cashier simply rang a bell and left our sandwiches at the pick-up window. 99% of the time, cashiers wait until we come to the window and THAT’S when they hand the food over with a «thank you» and a pleasant smile. So how was the pulled pork sandwich? I will admit that it was more than decent. But I’ve been having an unnerving problem with food lately — there hasn’t been a wow factor in so many of the meals I’ve consumed in the past couple of months. The pulled pork was tender enough and the pickled red onions were tangy and fresh enough. A little more garlic aioli would not have hurt — there were some bland bites here and there. But there was still no WOW factor! Overall, the Gastrobus definitely has some good comfort food. I’m sure if I try the Gastrobus again in the future, my opinion might(and probably will) change. Give it a try and see what you think!

On occasions the Gastrobus would come to UCLA to serve breakfast until 10:30am. They continued to bring fresh ingredients from the Los Feliz farmers market and a short breakfast menu that includes Armenian Coffee($ 2), Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes($ 4), Breakfast BLT($ 6), and Potato Frittata($ 6). I decided to try the pancakes which came in a tiny tray with two pancakes layered with condensed milk and covered by three strawberries cut into halves. The pancakes were too small to call it a meal, but they were loaded with poppyseeds with a finesse hint of lemon flavor that complemented nicely with condensed milk. The strawberries weren’t sweet enough as an odd-on, and the overall texture was executed unevenly with some good, and some minor rubbery and crispy spots that weren’t ideal for pancakes. There wasn’t a line of people waiting so service was quick, friendly, and efficient. From a conceptual standpoint, it was a good pancake but serving was too small and expensive while the way the food was prepared was suspect. I’d be interested in returning to try their coffee. 2.5 stars for the overall experience.

As an experienced food trucker, there are a couple things that The Gastrobus does really well that separate it from other L.A. food trucks. — The food comes out relatively fast, so even on a busy day, it doesn’t get too backed up. — With organic picks from the Los Feliz Farmer’s Market, this is one of the rare trucks that serves food that doesn’t come with a nap, feelings of guilt before bed, or disregard for your healthy lifestyle. Sure, some of the food(sweet potato fries, quesadillas) isn’t super healthy, but the selection of sandwiches, small specials(usually a soup and a sauteed vegetable) always taste fresh(considering they’re generally cooked, this can be a challenge) and it’s consistent. Personally, I wish they had more vegetarian options(generally just one sandwich and sometimes all or parts of the special), but the sandwiches with meat have always been well received by my peers. However, one thing The Gastrobus is lacking is food for really hot weather. With all their grilled sandwiches, sometimes you want nothing more than something really refreshing on a hot Southern California day, which The Gastrobus doesn’t not do well. Tomato soup on a 90 degree day? They’ve got it, regardless of if you want it. It seems like with the organic goods they’ve got inside, they could make some delicious food for hot weather, but I guess if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Overall, the food is solid, healthy, and comes out faster than your average food truck.

The hidden highlight of the street food festival. No lines, and hands down amazing food. The standout was the Lemon Meringue. It’s a hallowed out lemon filled with lemon custard and strawberries, topped with a toasted yet fluffy meringue. It had the perfect amount of zing to stop everyone in their tracks upon first bite. It’s something I’d actually wait in line for. A couple days later, I hunted them down and had their lunch combo. A hanger steak sandwich, sweet potato fries with a tangy garlic aioli dip, and your choice of drink($ 9). It was the sauce’s bit of spicy kick that made these fries delicious. The quality of the food is pretty consistently fantastic, however, I do wish they’d have a consistent menu… and by that I just mean i want that lemon meringue there at all times.

Gastrobus… I think I love you. This is easily one of my favorite trucks. The woman taking the orders is friendly and the food quality is far superior when compared to other trucks. Plus, they use organic produce from the local farmer’s market. That makes me happy. Sweet potato fries w/honey mustard sauce. $ 2.50. It’s a very small basket of fries but definitely worth the price. The fries were fried crispy and just right. Loving the big ass Kosher salt sprinkled all over it. Pulled pork. $ 6. It has pickled onions, lettuce, and garlic aioli. The pork was salty but the pickled onions made up for it. Savory. I like just about anything that’s pickled, cept pigs feet. It’s big enough to split into thirds, which is what we did. I’ll be back…

Gastrobus is 3.5 stars for food alone. $ 6 for a filling and delicious pulled-pork sandwich seems like a decent value at one of these«nouveau food trucks.» The sandwich had a lot of bread but it didn’t taste dry at all. We also tried«refreshing» samples of the corn salad. It was delicious but it was more of a salsa than a salad. I think the sample size was perfect and I’m not sure if I could have eaten more salad. There’s a man dressed up as giant nose next to the truck waving at people. It’s fairly entertaining and the nose looks more ridiculous than the Stanford tree. It is worthy of ½ a star.
