Don’t drink the melon milk tea! It was quite powdery. :( I’ve only tried their hot jasmine tea. It came in a cool pot and was really hitting the spot. :) This is a great place to just study, the Wi-Fi is a bit choppy, but if you’re down for some quality reading time, or a cute afternoon tea date, this place is just right.

PS Folks. New Managment, New Name —«Hang Out Leaf Café». And now they are open on a regular basis, and serve food now! Just slow wifi.

Clean and nice décor. That’s my two stars. The place has a new name. Took me a second to find, because the name on the window did not say«The Lobby.» The menu was stylish and with pictures… but Opened the menu and got sticker shock. They have limited milk tea flavors and charged nearly $ 5 for a glass. I was like, «wtf?» They have Coffee and Tea items like any café, but high prices like«Intelligentsia Coffee.» The food was marked up just as much. For prices like that, i just decided to get a proper lunch at a Thai restaurant nearby. Too bad too, cuz i thought i found an alternative hang out spot to read and relax. No thanks. There its no glass of milk tea worth over $ 4.

I love The Lobby. It is the best place to study or do work … BUT it seems they just changed management. Now it has a different name and different menu. Anyone know what happened? =(

Very cute boba/teahouse in Thai Town! We got street parking only a few steps away, and once we arrived the place was not crowded at all. Tons of place to study if I were in the area more often! Plus, it has tons of cute wall art everywhere. The drinks are reasonably priced, around ~$ 4 per drink. I paid with cash, because I think there’s a $ 10 min if you want to pay with your credit/debit card? I got an iced milk tea drink with pudding and boba literally the size of my face. It was super sweet though, good if that’s how you like your boba drinks. The barista was friendly too! Giving it one star down, because the women’s restroom was locked for the entire time I was there(around 30 – 40 mins), and the men’s restroom was out of order.

We were having dinner in hollywood and wanted some hot tea afterwards. I found this place and we came in. I ordered the honey green milk tea and my gf got honey lemon tea. The place was nice, there were a few people there on their laptops. They had free wifi, but the downside was that they didn’t have any board games. So we played chess on my phone while we waited. The drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but they give you a descent amount. I like it and would come back to just chill and have some tea and use their wifi. Better than any coffee shop where I can’t find a seat.

Why haven’t I tried this place before? Surprised it wasn’t too crowded on a weekend night. Plenty of seating, good place to catch up with friends. «Pink» Milk is a total Thai drink, that brings my friend back to her childhood. It’s using the notorious red syrup from back in the day, that makes the color pink. It’s not overly sweet and yet it has light floral, cherry-like notes that make the drink all the more delightful. I personally preferred the green milk over the pink milk, but that’s because it had more of a melon-like taste and I am a fan of melon/honeydew, etc. They blend it here, although traditionally pink milk is liquid served over crushed ice. I like this blended version! The steamed bread with pandan custard is also a childhood reminiscent snack — you dip the soft bread in this milky-custard, ever-so-slightly sweet but not overly sweet. Good: Pink Milk Green Milk Steamed bread with pandan custard

Lobby Da Di, we likes to party… we don’t cause trouble… we don’t bother nobody… we’re, just some n****z who’re on the mic and when we rock up on the mic we rock the mic(right)… Anyways, out of my zone. When we first stepped in here it was quiet as a library. There was a few ppl networking and still don’t hear a slightest typing noise. We’ve ordered one Iced Raspberry Mocha Latte, and a Milk drink with Pudding, Grass Jelly and Caramel. The Raspberry Mocha Latte was a bit sweet with a spunk of that Raspberry and it was mocha infused but it was okay. The Milk drink with Pudding, Grass Jelly and Caramel was the highlight between the two! because it was as smooth as milky way and you get that sweet candied after taste from the caramel. Big shout out to the lady(I hope your a Unilocaler) who was standing in line behind us, she recommended us to not only get Their White Chocolate Raspberry cake but to also get their Caramel cake, both were exactly what she said«cheese cakey!» they were delicious and better than Extraordinary Desserts(yeah I’m calling out that dessert shop in SD). Highly recommend this place for those who want to network inside, its a bit comfy their chairs are nice too, they don’t come from Ikea thats for sure, but good luck on parking. I wish the people that worked here thanked us for spending $ 20 worth of desserts because they closed out our order without a thank you. When I say Lobby, I say Dodi…

Waited 15+ minutes for 1 drink to go. There weren’t too many people there, but it seemed that they were backed up on orders somehow and didn’t bother telling me that I’d have to wait so long. Very hard to find street parking on a weekend evening. Cute décor, lots of seats and tables. Good place to hangout. Honey Boba with Pudding– I wasn’t expecting all the shaved ice on top, but the honey boba and pudding were good. Decent price for the large amount.

I live right around the corner from The Lobby, which makes it the most convenient local coffee shop for blocks. During the dark days where AT&T refused to set up internet in my new apartment I was at The Lobby every day. I fell in love. One Star — Comfy chairs next to convenient sockets. Sit on the left side of the room and you’ll have a comfy chair and all the electricity you need. Two Stars — Great variety of drinks. Most of them have an Asia/Thai twist on regular coffee house offerings. Their iced orange green tea is addictive. Also, ordering a pot of hot green tea is a pleasant experience. Three Stars — Good food… a little pricey, but good if you start getting hungry. Four Stars — good service and Wifi Minus One Star — it can be freeeeeeezzzzzzzinnnnngggggg up in there. Seriously, be prepared for that. Also, $ 10 minimum for credit cards. Start a tab and youll be fine.

Another review for a study spot, since apparently stuDYING is all I ever do anymore. The indoor space is clean and quite large. I was helped by the only server who seemed to also be working the kitchen area and cash register. I situated myself at a spacious table with cushiony seats. The drinks are on the pricier side. I ordered a green milk tea, asked for the addition of pudding in my drink, and it came out promptly in a large jug. Unfortunately, the drink was overly sweetened. I think this is the typical trait of Thai food and drinks. The texture was thick as well, but adding a few cups of cold water did the trick. The lady asked me how everything was, and I didn’t have the heart to tell the truth because she was so kind and harmless. :’( Other than the disappointing milk tea, I was happy about the comfortable seating and free wifi, along with plenty of outlets so that I can charge my laptop!

A cute boba/coffee/dessert shop :) The perfect place to study because they have FREEWIFI and nice comfortable chairs/couches to sit on. I ordered their Jasmine Milk Tea with egg pudding and boba. The boba was too soft but I didn’t mind it too much. The egg pudding made up for it. The boba cup looks like a butter carton. interesting. This will be my to go to boba place when I go to Thai Town.

Cute and open late Thai café in Thai town! Drinks are $ 4-$ 5. They also have appetizers, rice and noodle dishes, such as dim sum, lo mein, fried rice, etc. I got brick toast(they call toasted bread). For $ 3.25, you get two thick toasts with your choice of toppings. I got one with thai tea and one with spicy thai jam/mince sweet pork. It’s not the best brick toast I’ve had, but you can get some unusual toppings here and it’s cheap. My friend ordered some green tea smoothie or something, but she didn’t like it. I think she said it was too sweet.

Nice little place to hang as a group. A date once in awhile is nice as well. Not pricey at all, but be warned the food service does not end at 2AM, but earlier; after that you is the normal drinks. The inside of the little place is nice, but I do believe that place has potential for more ornaments inside. I found it kinda empty. I wouldn’t want it all lavishing that’s for sure. I found it kinda funny how you can always spot the regulars there with there lap tops and serious faces wide open hahaha. When I walked inside I was expecting it to just have young people, but there were elderly, older adults, young adults and some 21 yr old. I found that to be nice, meaning it attracts every type of crowds. Ah yes, but being in and around Thai Town it attracts local Thais. I came here with 3 friends and ordered some drinks for starters. One had a Thai Tea which did not expect it to look like in the picture, but indeed it did. Coolest part was that it was served chilled in a big glass. Things to take notice is that they are actually cups from Thailand. Crazy huh? Anyway I found that great. The taste of the Tea was a heck lot more refreshing, cool, than most, or if you are an expert at drinks it may taste relevantly the same, or better. I found it a lot more tastier and not a lot of sweet. If compared to beverage drinks that are Thai teas it can be a 10% sweet. The color was really pastel. Next drink was a Taro that looked like it was served in a flower base haha. Look was the same, but ahh my Taros flavor is the same anywhere! Cool and refreshing. Next was Grass Jolly Milk Drink that one was the weirdest out of the bunch… honestly! It had these crazy… well up to today I can’t describe it. It has be stumped! It’s like you are drinking milk with syrup and orchata? But the part I can’t describe is those worm type creatures. The best I can do it’s like your eating flavorless gummy worms with a taste of syrup and milk and a lil chocolate. Last was the Ice milk tea ahh that was cool too. No need in describing because it’s mostly the same. Aside from that later on we ordered from Gyosas and egg rolls. The Gyozas were real good. I hardly eat them cause I get sick of the taste after 2 of them, but these were either cooked a hella lot better, or did some crazy things to them. The egg rolls were 3% increment from your regular fast food Chinese. The sauce for the egg rolls were GOOD! Which they included more tho… Wish they hada take home version. DId not try the goodies although they looked good also. Oh yeah the environment is real moderate you sure can have a great time here if you know how to handle this place and use all the visuals to your disposal. It’s a chill spot. People weren’t rude. One thing tho… the poor girl serving our foods was EVERYWHERE! OMG I have never seen anyone move that fast. Those two chicks were working there asses off. One thing to note might be helpful to bring a friend that understands the language tho. Things will go smoother just in case you have questions on the menu. Ah yeah also a lot of visuals for men outside!

Woohoo! I found a Thai Café and it’s an excellent study spot. My favorite study spots are usually K-Town cafes that serve drinks, pastries, dessert, and snacks, and this is the only Thai café that I know of in LA. They have free Wi-Fi(password changes daily, so ask each time you go in), plenty of outlets on one side of the store, other people study here, you can stay for a long period of time, and they have a good variety of drinks, snacks, food, and desserts. I’ve been here at different times of the day(morning, afternoon, and evening) and it’s still consistently good to study at and doesn’t get loud. If you want food, for the most part you should check out other restaurants in Thai town, many of which are walking distance to The Lobby. For example, Sanamluong is across the street if you want their noodle dishes. But I eat here when I’m studying for a long period of time. I had the Chicken Dumplings, Spicy Noodles, Phad Thai, and Meung Kum. For the Meung Kum, the house favorite, you get some lettuce, lime, dried shrimp, peanuts, ginger, fried coconut, and a sweet chilli sauce and this appetizer I find refreshing. They make their own desserts. I’ve tried their cakes, like the crème brûlée cheesecake. I like their steamed bread with pandan custard, a house favorite. Their drinks are great. I’m glad they’re not K-Town Korean cafes because I like to study there! I’d say the prices are around $ 3.75 to like $ 5. They have milk teas and boba here! I had a peach black milk tea, Thai tea, taro milk tea, chai milk tea, hazelnut latte, taro smoothie, and an iced milk drink with pudding. I like the taro a lot and the peach was refreshing. The best thing about this place and the pricing is that they give you big glasses to put them in! For example, I one of my glasses was like a milk jug. Check out my pictures. It’s great to have a drink(or two) during your studying. Service is pretty good. You can order at the front or the table and the servers are kind, Thai folks. For the most part, after you’ve been served they’d leave you alone to do your work so you’ll have to get their attention. Otherwise they’ll check on you every now and then and they offer glasses of water if you’ve finished your drink or you’ve been there for a while. I come pretty often(current Unilocal duke and FourSquare mayor) and once or twice I’ve gotten complimentary snacks to nibble on. There’s a $ 4 minimum on each person and a $ 10 credit card minimum. You can usually find street parking. The Lobby has a really friendly feel to it. I guess it’s the cups painted on the brown colored wall. It might be the wooden floor and tables and the comfortable chairs and there’s even pillows. Brown is a prominent colour in the restaurant and it feels very homely, traditional, and earthy. There’s a coach and a coffee table. The best place to sit and study is on the tables opposite of the booth/chair tables because there are wall outlets there. It’s very clean. The TV is not distracting at all, though I don’t think anyone pays attention to it. It’s very pleasant overall and gives a modest and sweet vibe.

Great place to study. The drinks are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! The drinks are served in goblets! I was feeling snacky so I ordered a takoyaki which was very delicious. 9 pieces for $ 7 which is a bit much but it was also well done. Will probably come back if I’m in the area or crave a dessert after a thai meal.

Cute place, great study/work spot with a variety of coffees, teas, smoothies, and other drinks, as well as pastries and full meals. Staff was super friendly, prices were reasonable, and the Boba was deelish! The internet was super slow though and would cut out at times which limited my ability to get work done. Hopefully this is a glitch that will get fixed, as the place is brand new. Does accept debit/credit but only for orders over $ 10.
