My friend and I had dinner here last week we split a combo. The food was delicious, I really like the soup and salad. They serve you lots of veggies. Everything is full of flavor and filling. The server/cook was very nice. I thought it was a lttle too pricey but they give you huge portions. I will definitely go back.

I really enjoyed my experience here. I loved the idea of the big paan and how spacious it was for all the meat and extras to cook on there. I also appreciated the little metal holder for the meet to keep it warm but not overcooked. I thought their dwenjangjjigae was pretty good. Their beef was excellent. The ribeye and the galbi meat really melted in my mouth. Very good quality and buttery. The heart shaped kimchi bokumbap in the end brought a smile to my face. I would definitely come back! :) Service was also excellent. Older Korean lady who was constantly alert flipping the meat for us and cutting it in time. We didn’t have to do any work which is always amazing! I highly recommend.

This place will be my new fav. place to go to eat korean bbq. Better than ahgassi or baekjeong in my opinion. Theres lots of mixed combo If you tired to choose only between beef/pork you should try this place’s mix combo! I ate the paan combo #1 it was beef, pork, duck and scallop! :) nice place

Got the combo B with a friend. Hmmmmmm… my experience as for food quality is bit different compare to other reviewers. I honestly think it wasn’t that great of quality. Personally, Ahggassi has better quality. The grill was huge and amazing. Ive never seen anything like it. The server cracked an egg in front of us and put it inside this cut onion ring layer, there was grilled pineapple, mushroom, asparagus, pumpkin(?), Kimchi, corn, sprouts, dwen jang jjigae, jalapeño, and etcetera. It was a good eye sight; very colorful. However, I came here for the meat. I didn’t need all that. Also, because the grill was so big, oil that’s generated from meat filtered out slowly causing alot more oil firework — it was shooting on my face. As for the service, servers were kind and attentive. But it was a slow night. There were only 4 tables. So, good service was kinda mandatory. But one thing I noticed with this place from other reviewers sayin service is weak — it’s because servers have to do alot of stuff for per table. Theres alot of things that go on the grill that takes up alot of server’s time, I think… just based on my observation. Over all, I enjoyed my visit here as it was interesting to see a different type of grill?, but I probably won’t come here again since there are much better places couple blocks up and down. Also Ahggassi is right next door.

Don’t get me wrong the quality of their meat is still one of the top choices in my book…(I don’t know what book I’m talking about) and if anybody follows my instagram I’ve noted that this place was one of the top 5 kbbq places for me. but when I went recently I was so disappointed with their service… It wasn’t even a busy night and I went with few friends ordered what I thought wasn’t a small portion and drank good amount of alcohol. We weren’t obnoxious and working in the restaurant industry myself we were polite customers. BUT WHATHAPPENED!!! They never came to check up on our table, we had to ring the bell several times, we were ignored, our drinks weren’t coming, we had to ask multiple times for water, and our water was always empty. The food. I have to admit it’s still good but… service really matters when you’re grilling your own meat and you need things… c’mon now! The window ledge was SODUSTY… too .okay I’m not going to go there haha it was just sad seeing one of my favorite kbbq joints disappoint me so much, and I tell all my friends about how great this place is ! NOW i’m JUSTRANTING. sorry . but to be fair it’s really good meat and they are USUALLY really good with their service so don’t pass up on this place when you get the chance and ALWAYS order their fried rice !

Came here with my coworkers(group of 20 people). –Restaurant was empty because we went early but servers were not attentive(we would ring the bell but no1 would come to attend) –Most of us had stomachache/diarrhea right after eating here(people who did not get sick were those who did not eat meat) –Giving 2 stars(and not 1) because food tasted ok(but definitely not worth having a diarrhea)

This is my new favorite KBBQ spot. The Fresh Combo B is what I usually get, and the small is more than enough for 2 people and just enough for 3. I love that they grill the meat for you no matter how busy they are, and bonus points for the little mini«grill-pan» that keeps the meat from overcooking/getting cold! My only complaint is that the last time I went, the soondubu jjigae had no flavor at all. Make sure to get the fried rice at the end.

Every time I check out a new KBBQ spot in Ktown, the first question you ask is «what’s the gimmick at this one… how is this one different?» when you look at all the pictures posted from this place, you can instantly notice what Paan brings to the table. Your grill is literally a work of art… now the hashtag«#foodart» makes so much sense. The meat is good quality and it’s definitely worth checking out the combos. The main downside is that they don’t offer as many options for banchan as other places. However, they do serve Cheese Corn in an onion ring and an egg in the onion ring right on the grill, which I have never seen before! Additionally, they put a small rack on the grill after your meat is done cooking to prevent your meat from overcooking… very smart and thought out. All in all, a fantastic place to get your KBBQ fix and also to get that awesome Instagram-worthy picture.

With so many KBBQ spots in Ktown, you have to distinguish yourself somehow and The Paan does just that. Offering quality meat, this is a great place if you’re looking for a new KBBQ spot to frequent. Keep in mind that this place isn’t AYCE… There’s valet parking in the back lot for $ 2, which is pretty standard in any Ktown plaza. The restaurant is clean and modern, and our group managed to get a table pretty easily on a Saturday night(I guess many people don’t know about this place yet). For a group of 3 guys, we decided to order a Large Marinated Combo($ 80) which comes with marinated short rib, kobe bulgogi and marinated rib fingers. They say it’s supposed to feed 4 – 5 people but with 3 guys, it was just the perfect amount. You don’t leave feeling stuffed. The service is spot on… there are TVs everywhere for you to enjoy your favorite sporting event, and they cook everything for you(from beginning to end). It’s cool how they put corn cheese and an egg in an onion ring right on the grill!!! The rest of the banchan is also on the grill too, all surrounding the meat in the middle which makes for a great presentation. In order to prevent your meat from overcooking, they place a metal rack right on the grill so your meat can stay temperature hot… pretty neat idea! As far as the meat quality goes, you can definitely tell it’s top-notch. Juicy and tender! With the combo, you also get a choice of soup(bean paste, soon tofu or kimchi). For a large order, we got to choose 2 out of the 3. They place both right onto the grill to keep the soups nice and hot. I didn’t really like the kimchi stew though… it was too tomato-ey for my taste. In all, the Paan is an up-and-coming KBBQ spot that I feel like not many people know about. It’s decently priced if you aren’t feeling AYCE, check it out before it gets too crowded!

First of all, if you’re driving to Paan, the valet entrance is on Harvard where it says parking for Ahgassi Gopchang and Feel Karaōke. Now that you’re hopefully not lost, let’s talk about the food because it was so good. My family, the fatties that they are, ordered way too much: a large Fresh Combo and a small Pork Combo. There was definitely nothing that I didn’t like. All the meats were fresh and high quality. The only thing I didn’t love was the spicy pork bulgogi because it just tastes like the one my mom makes at home. We also splurged and ordered fried rice($ 2 per bowl) which was pretty amazing. The service was also top notch… almost too top notch. It wasn’t busy when we got there so we had the luxury of a server tending to our table the whole time, cooking and cutting the meat. I was a little sad that she didn’t go away because I was too embarrassed to take a picture. When the restaurant started getting busier, there was still always a rotation of servers stopping by, flipping and cutting our food. Paan is definitely a KBBQ house you should put on your«must eat» list. Good food. Good service. What else could you ask for?

The Paan is located right next to Aghassi Gopchang, and has a more modern and contemporary look! Parking is in the back in the plaza, and valet is $ 2. We had a table of 7, and decided to order Paan Combo #4 which comes with short rib, marinated short rib, baby octopus, and black tiger shrimp. Large was $ 80, and we ordered two platters for the table. The banchan that is offered is extensive; they put half the banchan on the grill and half in side dishes. I love how they put the corn cheese and egg in onion rings as I thought it was unique, and it was yummy! Wish there was more though. It also comes with tofu soup that they leave on the grill to keep it warm. The meat quality was tender and juicy; I was surprised at how good it was! The servers cook everything for you so no need to touch the tongs– just don’t burn your meat. For the seafood, we decided to get our octopus marinated in spicy sauce, and I would highly recommend that as it was delicious– the sauce really adds a kick to the octopus. The shrimp was good as well. Overall, The Paan offers quality food at a reasonable price– it was around $ 30 a person(including soju), and we were extremely full. Presentation was unique as they basically put everything on the grill, and service was prompt and very quick. I will be back to try their other combos!

When you have two great kbbq restaurants opened literally right next to each other it may be hard to choose which one to go to. Of course my first choice would be to go to Ahgasshi Gopchang for its ridiculously delicious intestines and the sister restaurant of the glorious Kang Ho Dong but this time I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant right next to it called The Paan. This is a NON-AYCE kbbq restaurant so expect the prices to be a little on the expensive side though the quality always makes up for it. I came with a large party on a Monday night and it was fairly empty(taking a wild guess that Ahgasshi is stealing their customers). Anyway, the grills that they use here a HUGE! When you order you are giving a plethora of banchan to start off with. Pretty much the general things you get like potato salad, etc. On the grill they sort out onions, kimichi, bean sprouts, green pepper, pineapple, sweet potato, squash and mushrooms. They also crack an egg in the middle of an onion ring as well as corn with cheese in another ring which I thought was pretty cool to keep to yolk from going all over the place. Your server does everything for you and it is almost like watching a show from Bennihana or something similar. The menu has a la carte options as well as combos. From beef, pork, seafood and even duck! The combos are the way to go as it feeds the most people from a small group to large. We go the«fresh combo» small which feeds up to 2 – 3 people. It includes: Flower short rib Racquet rib eye steak Rib fingers We also ordered brisket a la carte. Sharing with 4 people we were still pretty hungry so we ordered an extra flower short rib. All the meat was delectable thought small portions felt like we were eating tapas style rather than an extravagant feast but I suppose that is the drawback of it. Anyways, worth checking out if you haven’t tried this place yet and if Ahgasshi is too packed(which it usually is).

They changed… When we arrived around 7ish we we’re seated right away yet Aghassi restaurant next door had a huge line. That should have warned us… Visited on December 5th Saturday and the portions decreased, meat quality went down, they raised the prices, and now even charge for the heart shaped fried rice after. What stayed the same? The servers… they still don’t know how to cook the meat and everything gets over cooked. I would rather recommend Aghassi next door. Both are pricey but at the least the quality is much better.

High quality meat, pretty display of food on the pan, and ok service. My boyfriend and I got the racket rib eye and the smoked duck. The smoked duck was a little too salty and heavy for me but I enjoyed the racket rib eye very much. The other food on the pan was all decent but I think the display was more important that the taste itself. I was kind of disappointed that we didn’t get the heart shaped fried rice at the end. My boyfriend and I were both very full so we definitely wouldn’t be able to finish it. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere here. This place is a little pricey but the price pretty much reflects the high quality of the meat. Recommend if all you want is good quality meat and if you’re a baller.

3⁄5 for sure most of the patrons are a result of the spillover from ahgasshi next door who are too hungry to wait the pan concept is cool for a large party so everyone isn’t hovering or fighting for the meat on a tiny grill but for a smaller party, it was unnecessarily huge and OCD me hated the giant gaps between mounds of kimchi, sprouts, veggies, etc. we ordered the saeng gohgi(plain meat that isn’t marinated) combo but they overcooked the deung shim(!!! i was def p.o.-ed about this) and almost overcooked the ggoht ssal and i definitely had to get loud about that don’t mess with my meat! meat quality was mediocre and so were the sides a lot of it just seemed for show but taste-wise, no buens

YETAGAIN, ANOTHERKBBQJOINTOPENEDUPIN K-TOWN LOL. This restaurant actually opened up few months back, but not that many people have made their visits. I was intrigued to try this KBBQ because of their GRILL(hence the name of the restaurant PAAN, which means grill in Korean haha). The grill is HUGE, and very well polished, so after cooking the meat, they don’t ever need to switch out to another grill. ONE grill will do the job. After cooking each meat, they just pour some water on it and scrap any leftover gross stuff from the meat off. SOEASY! I came here with a group of 7 people, and 3 of us sitting at the same table ordered the below(ITWASWAYTOOMUCHFOODBTW for 3 people): We started out with the Small Fresh Combo which came with Flower short rib, racquet rib eye steak and rib fingers($ 57). The quality of the meat was really good. This combo is NOT marinated, hence called the«fresh» combo hahaha. I think the star of this combo was definitely the racquet rib eye steak. It actually comes out seared, and then they cook it more on the grill. 4⁄5 Then we got the Mixed Combo #4 which came with short rib, marinated short rib, baby octopus and the black tiger shrimp. I really love marinated short rib and they nailed it! The meat was so tender, and the taste was flavorful. For the baby octopus, you have to option to either cook it marinated in spicy sauce or just fresh. I also really liked the tiger shrimp. They were HUGE. The server put lemon juice all over when they cook it. 5⁄5 With the combo, also you get to order one of the three soups: kimchi jjigae(spicy soup), soon doo boo(soft tofu soup), or the dweng jang jjigae(bean stew soup). I personally thought the soups were OK. I’ve tasted better. I thought the service was good. They were attentive, and when we asked for something, they did not hesitate to give us. And they were very skilled in cooking our meat. After all the meat-cooking, they make you fried rice. The fried rice was really good. Perfect ending to any KBBQ session, but like I said, I was SOFULL from too much food. We actually had to take home leftovers haha. After the fried rice, they also give you little cream puff desserts. Overall, my experience here was good and I left very satisfied. They definitely have alot of competition in the KBBQ game in this area, but they have potential to be successful.

Good quality meat, but don’t think I would make it my go-to spot. We ordered the large pork combo and an order of the flower beef. In total, with tax and tip, a group of 4 of us paid around $ 30/person. The meal comes with lots of sides for the large grill, like onions, sweet potato slices, an egg that gets cracked in an onion ring. It also comes with your choice of kimchi stew or soy paste stew. For an additional $ 2 or so, they will make kimchi fried rice for you on the grill. The guys complained that the grill was not cooking as fast as they would like. But I thought it was fine. Meat quality was really good. As it should be for that price!

Holy shitballs… this place is meat heaven on earth(for a decent price too!) I think it opened only about a month or two ago and everything went smoothly from my experience. Our group of 5 ordered the Fresh combo(~$ 100) which includes flower short rib, their famous racquet rib, and wagyu slices. For the price of about $ 20 a person it was an insanely good deal esp. for the wagyu included that literally MELTS in your mouth and has such a fresh meaty flavor to it. So good I literally dreamt of it again last night. The flower short rib was also a favorite among our group. Soooo soft and I barely had to chew. Their famous racquet rib on the other hand, looks nice but it was lacking in taste and a little overdone because it already comes cooked and you grill it some more. Everyone in my group dived in for the short rib and wagyu first and then the racquet rib last. Wasn’t bad, just wasn’t anything particularly special. Our server hooked it up with an extra soybean soup, extra cheese corn, and cheese egg. Everyone was accommodating and quick to respond to our orders so no complaints there. Oh and the nice cherry on top is that they give your entire party free cream puffs with the check. Woohoo! Definitely one of my new fav non-ayce kbbq places. Soowon Galbi tops the list but The Paan also had equally delicious food with a cheaper price. Will be back consistently!
