Besides the customer service being good(the cashier is always the same and she is the sweetest girl ever) the sushi is great. My oldest son and I order takeout from here all the time. We even have my 2 yr old twins eating sushi and they are the pickiest eaters. I will definitely be back. The sushi for 2 is more than enough. Comes with a big salad and tempora(spell check lol). Will be back next week

The food is ok for the price, although don’t bother ordering online, I have had 3 experiences where they never check their computers and deny receiving the order. When I questioned them«showing my email receipt as proof» they blamed the tablet. A little advice for the management, I would invest in a better system i. e stop blaming your tablet and maybe get an employee that knows how to use it or buy a new one if you insist on providing online ordering to your customers.

This place cares about the food they serve. I recommend the salmon plate, it is fantastic and very healthy with lots of vegetables. Everyone here is quite friendly and it is one of my favorite places to eat.

We still love this place. It’s clean, all the employees are extremely courteous and accommodating. The food is good and fresh, and the prices are low. Not fancy, but surprisingly tasty and very accessible. The Ugly Roll is a treat. Brown rice available. Good selection on the menu. The room is simple, no frills, comfortable. No cash? Order on line FROMUGLYROLLWEBSITE(other delivery sites raise the prices by a lot) and pay with your credit card. Just be sure to add a tip. Great special combos. Parking in the strip mall lot’s usually easy.

This place gets 5 stars not because it’s the best sushi in the world, but because it’s decent sushi at a great price. You get a lot for your money. Side salad and shrimp tempura roll is bombDotCom. We usually get the sushi for 2 and that’s more than enough food. Def fulfills the sushi craving. Overall basic, but good!

Very disappointed. I went to Ugly Roll Sushi for lunch and found out they are cash only. In 2016, this is not acceptable… most people do not carry cash on them and I am not going to an ATM machine just because they want to only accept cash. You have to ask yourself why a company opts to be cash only nowadays? Is this some kind of a money laundering business? I will not be any part of shady business practices. And apparently not many others will either as there was only 1 person in the whole place.

This is your everyday mom and pop sushi shop. They have pretty good rolls. They also have a ton of combo selections. The girl up front wasn’t nice at all I felt like I was bugging her. Ill go to sushi stop better quality and cheaper. And great customer service

I was absolutely shocked with how authentic this place is! My main sushi guy Master Yoshi Tamaha Tabushi has been battle mercury poisoning(not from his delicious sushi but from working in a thermometer factory as a child) so I thought I’d give this place a shot! Their sushi master(Brian Anderson from Cincinnati) really knows his stuff! His California Roll is fire and don’t get me started on his spicy tuna. My only constructive criticism would be maybe change the name to something like ‘little Japan sushi stop’ or ‘sushi sushi sushi’ so my mother doesn’t question where I’ve been when she’s going over my credit card statements!

Not a bad spot. Cash only. It’s a good super casual mom n pop kind of vibe sushi place. Great for a first date or someone not looking to spend too much on sushi. Great for sushi newbies. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the super casual atmosphere, the only ugly thing was an annoying couple next to us that kept boasting about what they did for a living. I read a few reviews that claimed they weren’t so fresh, so we waited a day to see how our stomach reacted to the fish, and we didn’t get sick.

Just a small restaurant with a few specialty rolls and other entrees. Not your fancy sushi spot just a mom and pop type place that the locals go to. I’ve only eaten here via take out twice and both times left me satisfied. The place itself is small and has limited seating so we always did take out. The costumer service was great both times. I tried almost all the rolls before and my go to rolls are the volcano, ugly roll, rainbow, salmon and spicy tuna.

Got lunch for my office here and it was a big hit with everyone. Granted, we were all quite hungry, but I have to say that nothing unpleasant came across my tastebuds while trying their caterpillar roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, scallop roll or vegetable and shrimp tempura. For the price, the serving size was great. My stomach did feel slightly off afterwards, but I don’t often eat sushi so I am going to say it was adjusting. I’ll have to return soon just to make sure. Place was small, but clean.

This spot is right by my work and came here during the lunch hour. Customer service was great and the food came fast. I ordered a spicy tuna roll on brown rice with miso soup for less than $ 10. This spot is cash only so make sure you have some in your pocket. Parking is available as well since this is located in a small plaza. I am definitely coming back here again when I need to get my sushi fix. I was quite surprised that the spicy tuna roll was only $ 3.95!

This place is very good for cheap sushi! Although the place is small, it’s very intimate. I had a meal for two people, which contains two salads or soups, fried shrimps, salmon rolls, tuna rolls, crab rolls, shrimp rolls and avocado rolls, for just 22 bucks before tax. They are really tasty and enough for my husband and me.

This is actually my little hidden gem, and my guilty pleasure sushi spot when I’m broker than usual. I always get the ugly combo which includes two rolls and fried tempura. Crab salmon or spicy salmon are delicious, whoever says it isn’t fresh is just judging the book by its cover. I have an extremely sensitive stomach(check out my taco plus review), but I have NEVER gotten sick eating here. If you don’t like how the restaurant looks, take it to go. :) The owner/manager dude seems like he could be a creepy guy who stares at you while you eat, but he’s actually a really nice guy. Just extremely shy. Don’t be weirded out, let’s all be friends and eat at Ugly sushi.

What else can you expect from a cheap place? I regretted coming here. It was my first time and definitly the last one. The fish didnt taste fresh at all. I’m not coming back thats for sure. I just ate it about 20 mins ago and I’m already getting stomachache.

There’s the old saying, you get what you pay for. As others have stated, this is the cheapest sushi I’ve ever had. But some things aren’t meant to be cheap. It’s simply not possible to get 8 pieces of nigiri for $ 10 and serve something even remotely edible. While I didn’t die from the experience, I simply don’t understand it. Why not just focus on cheaper dishes rather than cheaper quality? Don’t serve nigiri; stick with cut rolls and ramen. The miso was literally from those little freeze-dried packets that you can get at the dollar store. The edamame tasted like it’d been frozen, then microwaved. For $ 20 for two people, we should’ve known better than to try this place. Funny enough, an elderly couple sitting next to us were geeking out over the concept. «Oh how lovely, it’s like a little spot in New York! It looks fabulous!» Uhm… ok? It was their first time here, too. If you want cheap sushi, there’s always SushiMac or SushiStop, which admittedly have such a glut of UCLA students crammed in, you’re waiting for an hour for a seat. That is not an issue here.

Did a pickup order with eat24 through the Unilocal app. Internet was down at the restaurant though, so they never got my order. The person working there was really nice and said they’d prepare it right away and it was ready for me a bit over 5 minutes later! Food is decent and well priced. Got the ugly combo and was stuffed after. Nothing mind blowing, but what do you expect to get with the price! Exactly what you pay for. Would come back for a lazy dinner

Really like this place. Bargain prices, tasty, good portion sizes and a good variety. Really love the Nigri Unagi sushi & the caterpillar rolls. My friend likes their sashimi salad. They have more than just sushi & offer take out.

This is definitely my go to spot for super cheap and fast sushi. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t necessarily call this place authentic but the sushi is really good for what you end up paying. They have a role starting at 3.50! if I’m going alone, I almost always get the ugly combo which includes to sushi rolls, tempura, and some delicious oranges. My faves are their eel rolls and spicy tuna rolls. This is definitely the type of restaurant where you order at the counter, pay, and then choose your own seating. The water and sauces are also self serve. The venue is small but intimate. All the service has always been amazing! I’ve never had an employee treat me poorly.
