Video Box

Despite having a Netflix account, I found myself going to this place a few weeks ago, and not just because I happened to be in the shopping center already.
The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable. And they had one of the movies I was looking for. I didn’t expect them to have the others on my list, so I didn’t hold that against them.
What was interesting was the fact that I had the option to just buy the previously viewed DVD instead of renting it. Not sure if this is an option for all of their titles or not.

I bout Be Kind, Rewind here yesterday for 7 bux.
And the word «video» is in its name which is awesome because I have a HUGE video collection haha.

This is a video store that is known to locals only. It’s run by friendly young staff and there is never any line. Tuesday through Thursday you can rent 3 DVD’s for $ 6; other days it’s $ 2.50 a rental. I went to this place for over 4 years and they usually remembered my name and told me which videos weren’t worth renting. The selection is much more limited than a ²⁰⁄₂₀ or Blockbuster, but you’ll walk away feeling better for supporting an independent business.

I love this place! I honestly didn’t want to put up a review because I want this place all to myself, but the staff is awesome, especially the owner, they don’t have a large selection like Blockbuster, but seriously how many GOOD movies take up the selection at Blockbuster…30%? If they don’t have a movie that you want in their store, they will gladly call their other location and have it there waiting for you the next day. I moved to another location recently and tried out this place «Video Hut» they still didn’t compare to my Video Box, so when I leave from work, I gladly take a detour to check one out at this location.
Oh and to rent a movie is only $ 2.50. New Releases are only ONE days, but it’s totally worth it because if you go there, you’ll see what I mean and why it can only be 1 day. And occasionally you’ll have the honor to browse for movies and hear background flute noise from a really cool homeless guy.
