Absolute crap. The records are of poor quality and it is apparent that the owners do not take pride in their shop. It’s haphazardly thrown together and the records are all over-priced bargain bin vinyl in poor condition. I couldn’t find one item that I’d even consider spending my money on. Go up the street to Vacation Vinyl or Sic City.

Amazing! Bobbie is a gentle, true spirit who has an ecclectic variety of rare records that I would never be able to find at Amoeba. She was accommodating from rhe moment I walked in, helping me find what I was looking for, even when I didnt know myself. Thank you!

This place is great! I went in there not sure what I was looking for, but I started talking with the owner, Bobby, about my musical interests. Despite the majority of music being a little earlier than my tastes she was still able to find me some really great music at an amazing discount!

I absolutely enjoy the record stop, even walking past this place is fun. Vortex Vinyl and the funny/nice people that work here seem to fit into Hollywood with ease, I dont like when i go to other spots and they make you feel like your taking up their time, Vortex has never made me feel that way. Every time I pass by this place they are playing great music and I have to stop and dance simply because me 3 year old daughter loves music and dancing. She loves different styles of music and this place seems to have it all. The lady that runs the place is so sweet to my baby girl. I hope this place is around for a long time for us and many more to enjoy. Plus aside from records, there is also a neat selection of vintage earrings, bracelets and jewelry.

What an awful experience… The store was very dirty, the records were in terrible condition and the staff was something else. The two workers«Bobby» the woman and«Greg» the guy were so out of their minds it was unbelievable. First off«Bobby» was falling asleep over and over and«Gregg» kept pointing in all the customers faces giving them«Life lessons.» I couldn’t shop without being bothered by him. Avoid this place at all costs, whoever the owner is should be ashamed of themselves.

The people in the store are a peculiar bunch. They are really nice and very friendly however friendliness only goes so far when the product they are selling is awful. The bins of records they have are very disappointing. They are very very worn and torn records with lots of scratches and lots of damage. Most of the records cases have some kind of water damage or are falling apart. The records themselves are dusty, scratched and very gross. I really wanted to like this place but $ 15 for a record that has been handled very poorly and borderline unplayable is definitely not worth it. Prices are high and the products are busted.

Not a very great selection. Mostly poor condition records I could find in the dollar bin at any other record store, except they charge $ 7-$ 15 dollars for them. Seriously, who pays $ 8 for a beat up Kenny Loggins record?! Don’t waste the parking meter change, you’re chances are better at Record Parlour, Amoeba, or even Out of the Closet.

Bobby is of legend! She kindly allowed us to hang our show poster in the store, had epic vinyl spinning in the store that all of us had no choice but to groove. She kindly schooled us on how to market, offered a deal on three vinyls and even held my Louis record for me. Bobby and Vortex Vinyl is the truth and one of the most original /real record stores in Los Angeles, Hollywood or Silverlake/Los Feliz. Go! Go! Go! Shop independent stores with a great collection of records.
