I was so full by the time we encountered this food truck on first Friday in Venice but I couldn’t help and take two bites. The waffle was so warm and fluffy. I’ve had fosselmans ice cream at the actual store and it was delicious on top of the waffle. The portions are huge so I would recommend sharing. Not exactly cheap but it’s not like you are eating this everyday. The waffles are freshly made to order.

Came here last week at a food truck event. I’ve been craving these type of waffles, as they are one of my favorite sweet treats. The waffles are a little pricey, but that’s the going rate and it’s definitely worth it to me. I opted for the regular waffle and just added bananas. The waffle itself is amazing. The crunchy exterior from the caramelized sugar makes your mouth water. It was freshly made as the inside was soft and tender. My only complaint would be the bananas. Believe they charge a $ 1 for literally ¼ of a banana. It’s thinly sliced, which is convenient, but it doesn’t even cover the entire waffle. Other than that, no complaints here My boyfriend got the one topped with cookies and cream ice cream and whipped cream. First off, it was pretty to look at. And second, he really enjoyed it. A little hard to eat, as he broke his plastic fork to cut a bite off, but he’s definitely down to find this truck again :)

I tasted the original waffle with vanilla ice cream and it was delicious. The waffle wasn’t too soft or hard the vanilla ice cream was cold. It was the perfect night snack. ;)

Definitely disappointed. Went to the food truck at the CicLAvia event in downtown LA. Ordered fruit waffle, but were out of strawberries, but that wasn’t a big deal. Problem was they way undercooked the waffle and it was just dough in the middle. Not crispy or fully cooked at all. You would think that for 7.50 for a small waffle with banana and whipped cream, that they would get it right. Advised girl at window that it was undercooked and she didn’t seem to care by offering a refund or at least to redo it. Save your money and go to Denny’s instead. Cheaper and waffles are much better. Gave two stars instead of one since at least the whipped cream and bananas tasted good.

I was at a fundraiser/charity event and saw Waffles de Liege among some of the food trucks there. I’ve been craving a waffle lately and finally saw this as an opportunity to eat one. I like to try exotic items off of menus occasionally and saw the«Speculoos Special» on their menu. I asked the employee what it was(some kind of gingerbread spread). I’m usually skeptical when an employee tells me something on the menu is good(«yeah, yeah, just order something»), but it felt like a genuine recommendation so I ordered it, adding fresh whip cream. It was really delicious. The portions were small but maybe appropriate for the price of the waffle. Thanks for the recommendation guy!

this place was pretty delicious. dropped in on a sunday around noon, and there happened to be a farmers market right outside. yay always fun. the market was quiet(surprising because the larchmont one i live by is always crazy packed). proceed to inside, the atmosphere is cute. its small but there is only one couple inside already enjoying their waffles. try to order a fresh fruit waffle, but alas they are out of strawberries… but wait, theres a farmers market outside. sad times. instead i get the speculoos banana waffle. its super delicious, but small for $ 9. the fresh iced chai was super delicious, as was the waffle, but for the price, i dont think ill be back. glad i came in the once though!

These are the best waffles and ice cream i have ever had! the waffles are more doughy than a regular waffle and the ice cream is awesome! i wish they had a store near by me instead of following the truck around! haha.

You can’t be As Good As It Gets if no one can Get YOU. They are impossible to find anymore – they used be on Sawtelle in West LA years ago regularly, then you would see the truck at some Food Truck Jams in West LA. Yesterday they committed a major faux pas by failing to appear at the CICLAVIA Venice-Culver City for the 1st time ever. Scores of people all day asking CICLAVIA organizers, «where is the waffle truck??» No where to be found – every other food truck was there – no waffle truck – they decided to stay in bed and go to the beach instead. They are like a restaurant that always has the«closed» sign out – making rare and limited appearances in nefarious places and private events.

I went to the Food Truck Squad tonight, and went specifically for the waffles truck, but they majorly disappointed. My first experience a few years back was a lot better. I ordered the Nutella waffle 3 hours after the truck had been opened, and 30 minutes before closing. It’s supposed to come with Nutella and bananas. They were all out of bananas so I asked for strawberries instead, but they were out of that too. To add another topping, such as whipped cream, it’s another 75 cents. I asked the cashier if I could have free whipped cream since they’re out of bananas, but he said no substitutions. so I have to suffer and eat my waffle without bananas because you didn’t buy enough and I still have to pay the same price, and extra for whipped cream. Really, this isn’t the way to do business, but I’m not the owner. This truck has been around for many years so for them to run out of strawberries and bananas is also odd. Anywho, my Nutella waffle was $ 6 and to add ice cream was $ 2.75. I got the fosselman’s English toffee which was amazing! I will go back to the truck for just the ice cream. Of course, Fosselman’s is a creamery in Alhambra si the truck itself does not make it. The waffle was a bit tough and the Nutella didn’t have a lot of flavor. I hope that they work on their customer service. there was a man who received a turtle waffle with 2 scoops of ice cream on top, but he has actually asked for 2 scoops on the side. Instead of easily rectifying the problem by putting the ice cream in cups for him, the employee just stayed quiet like he didn’t know what to say or do. The man ended up saying it was fine, but it wasn’t. If a manager reads this, please train your employees to be nicer and actively helpful.

This place is the bomb! Tryed there waffles at the street food cinimas. My son had a bananas and cream and my honey had the nutella and bananas. I only had 3 bites and my honey devoured the rest. Were deff going to hit up there passadina location for round 2. And possibly round 3 if were not in a dessert coma. Lol

Fullerton Truck Squad on a Friday night with my hubz, I noticed the Waffles de Liege truck was there. Shameful to say that I’ve always seen their truck there for the past few years, but never gave them a try until yesterday. Damn.Damn.DAMN!!! WHY I waited so frickin’ long to taste their goodness beats me. It was only from the insistence of my hubz wanting to try something new that I got to taste this delectable delight. Mind you, I still had this ‘meh’ attitude when he ordered the Speculoos Special, but once it touched my taste buds, the rest is history. After 15 minutes, we were back in line for our next waffle, the Original with a generous scoop of English Toffee ice cream. If this is what a true Belgium waffle should taste like, then Waffles de Liege is the place to go. I don’t plan on traveling to Begium anytime soon to compare, so the one in Old Pasadena will have to do.

I ordered the banana waffle with whipped cream and chocolate on the side. Chocolate on the side was a good idea because it would have been sugar overload otherwise. The waffle was fairly crisp and heavily sweetened. The portion of waffle and ratio of banana and whipped cream was generous and at $ 6.25 not a terrible deal. Im not left with a long lasting impression though so 3 stars it stands.

I saw this truck, read what they had, saw«Fosselmans Ice Cream» and I KNEW it would be good. If the waffle was halfway decent, things were looking good. We ordered the Original Liege Waffle which is a waffle, powdered sugar and for an extra cost you can get a scoop of ice cream. The scoop is quite liberal and sufficient for two people. Now the waffle was my primary concern because the ice cream was solid(come on its Fosselmans!). After taking a ton of time to receive my order(there were not many people in front of me), I figured they may be making things fresh.(yay). Upon first bite, I knew this was a winner. So tasty and delicious. This really hit the spot on a day where I needed some sweets.

Food trucks are an amazing thing. You can get practically any kind of food you desire off of a food truck. Waffles De Liege, for example serves up some awesome waffles. Their waffles are not the breakfast kind, though anyone would be happy to have these for breakfast. According to their website, there are two kinds of Belgium waffles. Brussels waffles, the ones we see everywhere, is the more common kind of waffle. Liege waffles are more rich and sweet. Obviously, the waffles they cook up are Liege waffles. Hence the name, Waffles de Liege. Their dessert waffles are simply amazing and topped with Fosselman’s ice cream — A match made in heaven. The line for this truck was long. Not too long where we were deterred from waiting, but there was a nice crowd in front of the truck. Looking for something sweet, I knew this was a perfect choice. When I found out they served Fosselman’s ice cream with their waffles, I knew it could not lose. I was honored to find that my hometown ice cream was being served on this truck. I had to have it. I ordered the toffee ice cream on a waffle with chocolate and caramel sauce. As much as the Fosselman’s ice cream was superb, the waffle was amazing. The outside was crisp and had a perfect crust to it. The inside was nice and cakey and wonderfully soft. The texture contrast of the soft inside and the crispy outside, and of course the creamy ice cream was perfect. I wouldn’t mind eating this every morning by itself. It really held its own as a waffle. The dough was indeed the star of this dessert. It was sweet, but not too sweet. It was perfectly delicious. When you have something so good, you hold on to it. The Waffles de Liege Truck has something amazing on their hands. Waffles and ice cream, that is the golden ticket. Sauce it up with caramel and chocolate, or make it «healthy» with some bananas and strawberries — it is all good. But really though, that Liege waffle is all I need.

amazing waffles. its a bit pricey for waffles– i think mine came out to $ 8.50 but food trucks usually are a bit pricey for the amount you get. i got the fruit waffle with taro ice cream and it was amazing. the waffle on the outside is crunchy but the inside its so soft and chewy. i seriously dont now how they get the best of both worlds into one waffle. next time i definitely want to try the speculoos one but i highly recommend getting ice cream with the waffle!

WAFFLES can be good any time of day made any way Oh boy! Why do people LOVEWAFFELSSOMUCH? I mean they are pancakes made in a WAFFLE iron. I LOVEWAFFLES! They are so fun and come in different shapes and sizes. Now-a-days there are restaurants that will make a WAFFLE for breakfast, lunch(as a sandwich) and BEST of all Dessert! The first time I had WAFFLES I was knee high to a grass-hopper. And I have NEVERSTOPPED eating them! WAFFLES are EVERYWHERE! I remember being in Amsterdam for New Year’s one time and found this WAFFLE cart! We were freezing our toocus’ off and wanted something warm to eat so we bought one and it had powdered sugar on it! We INHALED it and the ONLY thing left was the powdered sugar down the front of our clothes, on our fingers and our mouths. I just recently went to Malaysia and what do you know WAFFLES there too! Dessert WAFFLES it was DELISH but UBERSWEET and sort of made my tum-tum hurt! I guess I need to know when to say enough and push back from the table but sadly it was my own fault! So needless to say when I saw this truck the hairs on the back on my neck said woo, woo, woo! I think I skipped over to it like a 5 year old in a cupie-doll dress complete with crinoline slips and pigtails! For some reason it REALLY brought the kid in me out which is NOT saying too much since I tend to jump around or hop a lot and can be VERY animated as I’m told when I see something I like! I was really surprised to see NOLINE at this truck! I did see one person walking around ENJOYING the plate of HEAVEN she had just gotten from them! When I tell you it looked AHH-MAZING! The sun rays glistening off the WAFFLE and ice cream, fresh strawberries, bananas(yuck), drizzled in chocolate(again yuck), with whip cream atop the YUMMYGOODNESS! OMG! So I knew I wasn’t going to stay to eat it mine cause there were no tables and I was sooo tired! So I got it to go! I ordered the WAFFELORIGINAL which is probably the most basic one you can get! It comes with a waffle and a HUGE scoop of ice cream on top! I got Green Tea ice cream because from experience dessert waffles tend to be a little SWEET and green tea is a NICE mild ice cream so I knew I wouldn’t go into SUGARSHOCK or a diabetic coma trying to eat it! It was so pretty. And being the greedy piggy I am, I ate it on the way home! OMG! Every red light was an opportunity to dig in and pig out! LITTERLY! The WAFFLEWASWARM and DELISH with a touch of SWEETYUMMYGOODNESS! I could taste the vanilla in it and it was cooked to PERFECTION! WHAT, WHAT! Eyes rollin’, in the back of my head GOOD! Not too hard and crunchy or too soft and gooey. PERFECTLYDELIGHFUL! The AHH-MAZING thing was that the green tea ice cream didn’t melt SUPERQUICK on top making it a soggy mess! I DON’T know how they did that but I was able to eat it with the waffle without a having to drink a green tea frappy mess instead of eat it! NICEJOB! And it was a hot day out! JAMMIN! By the time I got home it still had some left over so I popped it in the freezer for later! SUPERYUM, YUMYUMMY! I LOVED it! I will DEFINITELY be back if I see this truck again! YOUROCK!

I love waffles… and I love ice cream. So when you put the two together… it’s a perfect combination :) Tried the Speculoos special for the first time yesterday! It’s a waffle with Belgian biscuit spread topped with Fosselman’s ice cream and fresh bananas. Yum! The scoop of ice cream was huge and I was still full after even sharing it with someone else. The waffle is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside– my favorite! There are so many other flavors and combos… I can’t wait to try the others next time!
