I literally just had three beers at this place. It’s still opened and wonderful. You just have to knock for a long time. They will open. Tell them«Nathan» sent you and the lady will give you a free hot dog.

Aww!!! If it’s really closed, «another one bites the dust.» Thumbs down. When I did meet friends in hollyweird for drinks, this was the spot. Non-pretentious with cheap drinks but hard buzzes. Those places seem to be disappearing, so if you hear of any I haven’t discovered let me know.

This place was one of my favorites in Hollywood! I can’t believe it closed(march 2014)!!! Great place to Play some pool, listen to whatever you want on juke box, free hot dogs and cookies. Vicky, the owner is the best!!! I’m very sad she sold it. Our neighborhood bar will be missed. So many great times at the white horse!

I’d like to write a review about this place but they lie about their hours so I can’t.

By far the best bar I just so happened to stumble upon… The bartender is super down to earth and very hospitable. There’s a jukebox with numerous generes and the place is super chill., its borderline between tourist Hollywood and local Hollywood… Sit at the bar and get offered free delicious popcorn, chips and hot dogs… Can’t beat that!

This is such an awesome little dive bar! I randomly drove by with a group of friends and stopped in and was totally in awe. The owner is an awesome woman who takes care of her guest as if we were all her children coming home for a visit and bringing our friends to hang and play pool in the basement. She keeps you fed with little snacks and will joke around with you about the other guests and whatever may be playing on the t.v. I hate to even write a review because I love the intimate feel and don’t want others to take it over. Go here if you’re looking for a fun, unpretentious night out. Or if you’re home sick and want a mother figure to take care of you, LOL.

That atmosphere was chill and the free snacks were abundant. But the drinks were a bit over priced to not have anything on tap. And my beer from a bottle looked sad in the massive cup they poured it in. But if you are looking for a chill dive bar this is a good place to go for that.

I love a dive bar but not this one! We went in for some really over priced drinks and ended up having to listen to the woman behind the bar complain that no one was ordering flavored vodka. She asked us why we didn’t order flavored vodka. It was beyond annoying.

Could be one of the greatest dives in the area, except the drinks are way, way overpriced for a dive bar. 5 dollars for a PBR is way too much, even for LA. I can go to a dive closer to the«ritzier» bits of this neighborhood and still pay one 3 – 4 dollars each. Even some of the chain places have a 3 dollar 16 oz PBR. And 7 dollars for a cocktail? Pffft. Guess it’s worth it if it’s late and you want a hot dog, but otherwise this is too pricy to make me a regular.

Free hot dogs by request and a friendly bartender. What more could you ask for. This is definitely a bar for the end of the night… of course that’s when it’s most crowded.

Last stop of the night. Already in high spirits. Walk into this place and theres a bunch of free snacks everywhere and the lighting is undeniably trying to cast everything in a red tone. The wonderfully accommodating eastern european lady behind the bar poured a pretty strong vodka cranberry and gave us popcorn. What a gem. If you ever get too high in spirits, this place is under a Super 8 Motel, its better to cough up the few bucks and pass out here than behind the wheel of your car.

I spent a few hours at Whitehorse Inn last Wednesday night with a big group of friends from Trop Mag. I’d driven past the bar countless times and had low expectations, but I ended up enjoying the place quite a bit. We parked in the hotel lot and the bouncer, who seemed to have some kind of authority, let us stay there because there was a lot of space. Street parking seemed doable but not particularly easy. The bar was casual with a divey feel, decorated here and there with Hollywood paraphernalia. There was a digital jukebox that worked on some kind of a credit/token system — Rihanna cost double the credits of Green Day. It was more or less empty the whole time, and we occupied a section of the bar made up of a rectangle of couches. It was pleasant and relaxing, like hanging out in a friend’s living room. The bar owner was a very sweet lady who played the role of that friend’s mom — she put out popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, and cookies, all complimentary. When one of my friends showed up with a meatloaf, the owner put it on a serving dish and brought it out. The alcohol options were nothing special and a little pricier than I would have thought. We had $ 7 Guinness and Sam Adams before switching to $ 5 PBRs. I wouldn’t bother with cocktails here, though there was fresh grapefruit juice in a pitcher for anyone who wanted that as a mixer. The owner was the only person working, and she was wonderful. She had the air of a hostess entertaining at home, and she did that very well. Apparently Whitehorse is changing ownership, and that is a damn shame. The bar was a great place to hang out, and it wouldn’t be the same without that cozy personal touch.

This reminded me of the East Coast dive spots in NY and Philly so I am definitely a fan of this place. This isn’t a Hollywood spot with the trendy go-getter crowd. Just a bunch of folks who want to drink, have a good time and listen to good music. They gave us free hot dogs and snacks which I found out was standard. Though I wasn’t a fan of the meat, free snacks are always in style. The bouncer was hella cool and from the East Coast too. Loved feeling like I was home when I was far from it.

Not impressed. Low key and casual atmosphere, which is fun if you bring the right group. Service was good and nice ownership, but none of this justifies their really high drink prices. And they only accept cash.

Had a private party here for our dodgeball league. It was really fun and the atmosphere was really nice. Staff was very nice and they fed us hot dogs and chips. The only bad thing and probably the most important thing were the drinks. Can you say EXPENSIVE!!! On top of that they measured everything. Every drink I had was not even strong. Beers were 7 bucks ridiculous. So if u go here go when they have specials or happy hour.

This is the perfect place to meet up if you want to chat with pals, unlike other more elitist hipster haunts, with blaring indie music(ahem, Harvard and Stone.) I’ve had unsuccessful birthday meetups in other joints, but here you can always take over a corner of couches and have a rotating group of friends get their cheap well drinks, chat up, and enjoy putting Mariah Carey on the jukebox without breaking the bank. Plus, when people start getting too soused, they can soak up the alcohol with fudge-striped cookies or free hot dogs, which is most charming. I first came here a few years back when hipsters were starting to take it over, and am happy to find it hasn’t really changed or become expensive as a result. It’s still comfy and charming and cheap as hell.

I thought this place was supposed to be a dive bar(it’s the bar at a Super 8 motel!), but the prices are what I’d expect at the bar at a Ritz Carlton??? And they play Tru TV. I’m pretty sure the criminals I was watching on the screen were sitting next to me. :(

Vicky is a friggin’ hoot and Whitehorse is such a trip. The place isn’t anything special, but it now holds a special place in my heart. It’s like hanging out in your parent’s basement, snacks and all. Apparently some nights, the pool table turns into a free for all snack buffet, but sadly I didn’t get to experience that, however I did get to munch on shortbread chocolate cookies and tootsie rolls during my visits. Who knew those delicious sweets would complement a vodka soda so well?!? Celebrities, apparently, as the wall is lined with pics of them in the joint. The drink menu’s pretty basic, so don’t go expecting fancy shmancy cocktails, but do go expecting a silly night out.

Quite possibly the best bar I have ever been to… We each ordered 3 cocktails, and each cocktail came in a different glass… like glasses that were bought at a garage sale or given to the bar by their alcohol distributors when promoting a new product… The bouncer/doorman was reading a sci-fi fantasy novel(paperback). Awesome jukebox that is reasonably priced… i.e., 3 songs for a dollar… good selection of music, they had just about everything. The staff were extremely friendly and cool. After we ordered our cocktails the really nice ladies served us popcorn, chips, and insisted we have hot dogs… I guess we looked hungry but they really hit the spot. The women working there were SUPER friendly and nice. After they served us they got back to their(what looked like) gin rummy game… they seemed quite content. The bar is lit completely red inside with tons of pictures hanging from the wall, pool table, comfortable couches to sit in, great service, eclectic collection of cocktail glasses… Quite possibly the best bar I have ever been to… Top 5 for sure…
