This is a really cool look out! You can get here right after you visit the Getty Villa. It is straight across the Villa entrance, on the Pacific Coast Highway. If you look up and away from the ocean, you can see the Villa up on the hill!
According to the plaque, this area was established in November 2014, so it’s relatively new. I’m only the 2nd person to review it!
You do not need to feed the meter, but if you do, it’s quarters only. If you’re quick, you can just snap a couple of pictures and you’ll be done.
This tourist spot is highly recommended for the fresh air, cool breeze, energetic ocean waves, and spectacular views! The Santa Monica Pier is off in the distance, to the left! Enjoy!

They built a wall here so that the waves in the ocean collide straight on and cause a huge splashing mountain of waves going up into the air! It does not cost anything to drive in a snap a few pictures. You can also see the Getty Villa from here and that is pretty nifty, too! I can’t wait to bring the family here to show them a piece of the coast without having them get all dirty and sandy. It really is a great place to bring parents and grandparents especially!!!
