Big 5 Sporting Goods

My experience here was almost a 1 star. As I did get a discount from an employee who worked there, there was also more than that. I decided I didn’t want the product I bought because it didn’t fit my size, so
I decided to call today, knowing that there would be a issue with the return, due to the employee lacking the responsibility of giving me a receipt. I thought that you were supposed to be offered a receipt? It’s not the customers responsibility to ‘remember’ to get the receipt, it’s the person who is your cashier, at least in my opinion. I called up, and she said, «sorry, you’ll have to wait for that employee, she isn’t working today.» Are you joking? I do not regret this… This will be the last time they get my business, at least here in Los Banos. It’s really not my fault that I wasn’t offered a receipt, it’s not my job to remember, even after the 2 buck discount, this goes far over that. Sorry Big 5, but no more business from me. I hope you think twice about giving your faithful customer a receipt. Poor business. Poor attitude.

I’ll stop here when I’m going to Madera to visit family just to see what selection of guns they may have other than that its just your typical big 5

Came into this store to get a sleeping pad and got sassed by a couple of old broads who somehow run this place. No one was at the any of the registers when we were ready to check out and when we asked we were talked to in a condescending tone. Learn some customer service techniques ladies.

I like coming to this store to get what I need when track season starts, decent stuff but nothing too new. I needed help getting spikes for my sprint shoes and the manager was super helpful, he even opened a new package just to confirm that they were the correct size. I was impressed at how friendly he was & I recommend coming here for whatever athletic gear you may need :)

I like Big 5 for the shoe sale’s. Will go in & check out the selection when the time come’s a new pair of tennie’s are needed. As other’s have stated, the selection of size’s can be very limited, so shop the sale’s early if you have your heart set on a certain pair of shoe’s.

This was probably my 3^rd time in Big 5. I’ve been to a couple in the bay area, and was quite dissapointed, generally by the availability of shoe sizes, and finding people to help.
We were on our way to Sequoia, and wanted to try snow shoeing. When we learnt that we needed waterproof shoes, we were just passing by this Big 5.
We went in, and found shoes at excellent prices.
The reason for the high rating is the excellent customer service that was provided. The folks there were very helpful in trying to find the right shoe in the right size.
We walked out with a couple of pairs of waterproof snow shoes, and enjoyed snow shoeing :)

Always thought that Big 5 was over priced, so I never visited until recently. I found some amazingly great bargains here and even some of the every day items were not overly priced.
The weekly ad has some great coupons for everything. From golfing items to tennis shoes, there is definitely a lot to choose from. Be forewarned though… if you want those great shoes on sale, you better visit the first day of the sale, otherwise you probably will find your size out of stock.
Minus one star for never having enough of the sale items on hand.
