Foster’s Freeze

The BEST place in town!!! When I visit my construction site we’d always stop in for the ice cream cone. Clean place, customer service is good and it’s probably because owner is there.
Will take ALL my visitors there!!!

I enjoy stopping by when I just want an original hamburger. Love there double decker. Will always choose to go here vs McDonald or any other hamburger place.

This was my last stop before heading home to Fresno, we stop at this Foster’s because it is convenient located right on the 152 with easy access off and on. Food quality was great with friendly staff. We ordered three medium fries and three twisters.
Twisters were bomb-​diggy! The server was very generous with the toppings and did not charge extra for mixing in other toppings (Yeah!) The fries were fresh, plenty of ketchup and napkins given for the ride home.
Great experience and great food.

I love stopping on my way between home and the Bay Area to this very original Foster’s Freeze. I literally have been dropping by here for about ½ a century. I think they may have changed owners in the last 10 years because it used to be a family running in and now it seems like a different group of people. No matter, it’s a very casual, non-​corporate looking fast food type of place with what I’d imagine is the original kitchen and dining areas. I personally love the walk up window for those hot days you just want to get a dipped cone and get back on the road, or better yet, being able to walk my dogs around the block, walk up to the window, buy a cup of water with that cone and move on.
I would say that the bathroom (that I used Sunday) really needs a good overall and cleaning. It used to be one of the cleanest on highway 152 but it’s real grubby making for 4 stars instead of five, but I’ll never stop going to FF in Los Banos. It’s my nostalgia stop from my childhood!

I’ve been to this fosters freeze ever since I was little. My family always stop here on the way to visit relatives in Fresno. We always get an ice cream and fries. Today leaving Fresno we stopped here again and I ordered a Classic Cheese Burger. Eating it in the car made me wish that I ordered the Double Decker. Man it was so good! I also ordered a small vanilla ice cream and fries:) gotta have my ice cream

We went here for lunch for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the great customer service. We had to get our car smogged at everyday smog and decided to give foster freeze a try. We went there at 9:50 while they were still preparing to open the store at 10. They did not hesitate to take our order even though they weren’t technically open yet. We had their spicy chicken sandwich and chili cheese fries. The fries were delicious and so was the sandwich. Nice employees and great food, which obviously was made to order and therefore very fresh. Will come here again and get one of their sundaes.

Deep fried burritos! !! I love this place. Love their soft serve and French frIes, bUt most of all, I love the deep frIed burritos. They’re the only place in tOwn with them still and fOr that they will keep my business.

Dined out at Fosters today. I had their grilled chicken burger. I enjoyed it. My daughter had the Spicy Chicken buger. She said it did not taste spicy to her. Overall we had a good meal. I have to say the tables were very clean too! On a separate occasion, my husband went there and had the Steak Burger. He did not care for it. I would go there again. I liked the food.

You want some good crinkle cut fries? Then come to Fosters. I remember my first job ever was in Save Mart here in Los Banos back in the day. Well I sometimes would come to lunch here at Fosters Freeze. The burgers are good but the fries are the best here. No other burger chain except Del Taco sells crinkle cut fries so if you love crinkle cuts this is the place!

Sure, there are Foster’s Freezes in numerous locations, and in numerous cities… and their menus are supposedly the same. However, let it be known that while they share menu items, preparations can be completely different depending on the location.
Los Banos’ Foster’s Freeze has, bar none, the best fruit freezes available… Unlike most other Foster’s, this one makes the freezes a bit chunky. My standard since I was about 14 has been the Strawberry Banana. Every other place tends to blend the freeze until perfectly smooth, but nothing beats sucking up little chunks of strawberry and banana at the end of your freeze.
What the hell’s a freeze you say? Well, it’s pretty much like a milk shake, but instead of milk, they use soda water. Similar to the NY concept of an egg cream, but definitely closer to the CA concept of a smoothie. It’s a lightened up alternative to the shake.
Aside from the Strawberry Banana Freeze, their spicy chicken sandwiches tend to be be better here than in other locations… the spiciness does tend to fluctuate however from time to time and can range from searingly hot, to just a little spicy (the latter being what I had most recently)
