Best shrimp enchiladas I have ever tasted in my life. I’m not really a fan of Mexican food but one night I was looking for a food to eat and check this out and nothing to expect but wow when they served shrimp enchiladas in front of me I cant really stop on saying how good it was. The sauce is not overwhelming and not red, the shrimp is just perfect. I don’t know if I can find a restaurant like this good in the bay area. THEBESTMEXICANFOOD so far.

I’m giving it four stars because when they’re on point they’re very on point, the food is very good and the service is good. That said, I’ve had a few bad experiences there too, and those have been my more recent experiences. I’m really hoping they’ve just been a temporary lull, but I’d downgrade the star rating if I had one more sub-par experience there, especially with so many options for Mexican food in Los Banos.

Took 25 minutes to have our order taken, granted they were busy, served three other tables that came in after my wife and I.

The three item combo was quite reasonable. Had the tamale, carne asada taco, and the pork tamale. The service was nice, and the food was pretty good, so I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars, but 3 stars for the dry masa on the tamale and a lot of fat and grisel for the taco. Every bite was full of fat along with some meat. If they would fix the fat, I would gladly give his place 4 stars. The Chile relleno was good on my friends plate, but she also had a lot of fat in her carne asada taco as well. The salsa was good, no refills offered on the chips, so I didn’t ask. The server seemed busy with the other gables which were regulars.

I’ve been here on several occasions while on business travel to Los Banos Service: There are two brothers that work there(They may not be related but I’m asumimg they’re brothers since they look very much alike). One is very friendly and the other one is absolutely rude. The rude guy never smiles and puts your change on the counter. On this visit the rude guy went off about how I asked him for the wrong type of salsa. He took back the mild salsa and gave me the spicy one. I then told him, why don’t you just give me both, he replied angrily and said«then I would have to charge you»! Give me a break, if you charge for 2oz of Salsa your in the wrong business. The cost of the salsa should be calculated into the burrito. In this case the Carne Asada Burrito Supreme was $ 7. Please smile and serve the customers as if you’re there for the customers not the other way around and then I may come back again. Food: the burrito had way to much rice and beans and very little Carne Asada! The flour tortilla was not cooked all the way and had a soggy texture to it. Overall, this place is decent but avoid the grumpy dude since you’ll receive rude and ignorant service

Very courteous staff; helpful and on-the-ball. Great salsa, fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Chips were lackluster and the diced chicken in one of our entrées was extra salty and close to burnt. Such nice staff that I’d try again if I’m through Los Banos.

Stopped in on our way to Santa Cruz from Fresno. Glad we did so because we’ll be back. A good rule of thumb is if the salsa that is brought out with the chips is good then chances are so is the food. Great service, great food, nice atmosphere.

This restaurant is always clean, the food is good and the staff is very pleasant(with the exception of an older gentleman). The piña colada drinks and michelada/chevela drinks are very good! I would recommend the wet shrimp burrito, it is very delicious!

The three stars is for the service we waited a bit to long after finishing our meal and they barely checked on us once. The food was good though. Asada and El pastor had some flavor the wet asada burrito had a mixed sauce that was unique but tasteful. Almost a pink chili sauce very good. The size of both plates we’re good also.

Solid Mexican food, good price for the huge portions! The tacos are really awesome, especially the pork(carnitas, al pastor) which are made with homemade thick corn tortillas. Definitely better than the place we used to stop when we went through here, which was Españas.

Don’t hesitate. This restaurant was incredible! I ordered the special tostada salad with chicken, and the chicken was outstanding, charred/grilled not the usual boil and shred. The husband ordered carnitas and said they were spectacular, perfectly tender, seasoned, and exploding with flavor. Toddler ordered chicken nuggets because she’s two and those were as expected. Best pit stop meal ever.

Three of us had dinner here on a Wednesday. It took the server a few minutes to acknowledge us, and then five more minutes to get menus at a table of our choosing. Several minutes later he brought out tortillas and an incredibly good salsa, and only then were we offered beverages. With that said, everyone’s food was very well prepared. The noise level was acceptable to me, which is remarkable since I HATENOISE. Five star food, minus one star for dawdling service. I’d eat here again when in Los Banos despite the slow service.

Chips & salsa were excellent! Horchata was definitely the best horchata I have ever tasted! And I drink a lot of horchata :). Three stars because my chimichunga that I ordered was full of cheese and barely had any beans, mind you all I asked for was a bean & cheese chimichunga but they over did it with the queso :/. Food was overall great and service was fast & friendly. I just know how to order next time I go! I will definitely return!

Nothing against this business but for the price and considering the wait time, I would say there are better choices in town…

I love the look of the place, kind of old fashioned. Clean and spacious. Fast service. The key highlights: homemade tortillas, «savory» chile verde, and a fantastic horchata

Best Mexican food in Los Banos(besides my neighbor’s Mother) Awesome service. Very causal. They have an open Kitchen. There’s a lady that makes fresh tortillas right there in the kitchen area. Anything that I ordered has always been awesome. The Michelada is delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Perfectly situated before the 152W/E road and I-5 to and from Norcal and Socal. Get: — Carnitas Chimichangas — Enchiladas — Carnitas — Tacos(fish, ground beef, and chicken were all delicious) Skip: — Tamales: these were dry and without much filling or flavor. Even tamales I make were better. If you want non-fast food and a nice place to sit and stretch your legs en-route to LA or to SF, stop on by!

Since the only time I am in Los Banos is just because I have to drive through it to get somewhere else, I tend to stop only at one of the fast food spots in town and eat while I am driving. However recently when driving through with my fiancé we decided to try a local restaurant instead of getting fast food. As she checked Unilocal while I drove, we decided to come to El Rodeo, and I am really glad that we did! Its a nice little restaurant with a presentation style kitchen, which I like being to see what condition the kitchen is in, and the condition of this kitchen is clean, just like the rest of the place. The food was really good, I got an al pastor burrito and a carnitas taco. The al pastor had a really good style sauce I hadn’t had before, instead of being that super orange al pastor sauce I was used to, it had a much more mellow and not quite as colorful sauce, but it was really really good! The carnitas was also extremely delicious, it had a nice crunch to the outside of the meat, a well as a nice slightly sweet taste to it. I was really happy we came in to get a bite, the next time I come through town I will definitely be eating here again!
