My husband and I were long standing patients of Dr. Duckham. Even though the front office staff was extremely rude and wait times were consistently long, we thought we were in good hands. The last straw was when Dr. Duckham communicated that a diagnostic test result was fine, when that was not the case!!! Luckily, the test center followed up with me.

One of the main reasons I did not wish to leave the area was that Dr. Duckham has been my family doctor for 20 years. I cannot tell you how lucky I feel having had him as my Doc. I believe anyone would be hard-​pressed to find a more knowledgeable, compassionate, pragmatic, «stay current» physician anywhere!
I used to fly from Seattle just to see him whenever I needed help for anything more than a cold. After 20 years we have come to know each other very well. In all of my 60 years on this planet I have never met a medical professional who I would trust without question, or second guess. In today’s pressures on doctors to do more with less, he still makes the time to enter into a dialog regarding my overall health: medical, emotional, societal, and if I wished financial.
He is truly my hero in so many ways, and although this sounds too emotional of a review, you would have to make an appointment and speak with him to know why. Ranked Top Ten Best Docs in the Bay Area, and now the Country. He has appeared on PBS shortly after saving the use of my friend’s wrist after an Oakland ER «attendant» just slapped a cast on a protruding bone. Dr. Duckham’s reputation and peer group respect resulted in local specialists dropping everything to tend to my roofer buddy. He had surgery the next day, and through physical therapy has full use of his hand and wrist. Dude, would you go to anyone else???

This guy is virtually non-​existent. When you make an appointment you are booked 90% of the time with a Nurse Practitioner who is paranoid about her image. For those of you who want to be seen by a real doctor, I do not recommend Dr. Duckham. On my last visit, I was ill and really wanted to see the Dr. I was booked with his NP. When I asked her about the side effects of the narcotics she was prescribing me and requested to see the Dr.,.she appraently got offended in some mannor. 2 weeks later I received a note from the Dr. saying that I was being kicked out of his patient list as well as my entire family! Like the mafia. Highly dont recommend this guy and his crew.
