We ate lunch at Gilley’s and had a hamburger with fries and polish sausage on french roll with fries. Both were great. The french roll was very soft, not the kind with the harder crust. Service was very good. Restaurant was very clean. The bathroom is very small, but very clean. We will definitely return the next time we are in Los Gatos.

Only managed to eat here three times, they are open early but close at a quarter to 3, even though on Unilocal it says that they close exactly at 3. I work across the street and have been dying to try out the food but this place is more suitable for breakfast due to their hours. I was able to try the tomato soup and grilled cheese special that was $ 11. Which I was confused about, so basically a cup of soup here is $ 6… And a Mediocre grilled cheese(that I could easily make myself) was $ 5. Hmm I do enjoy the tortilla soup, it’s just a little weird to get my hard around paying $ 6 for soup when up the street at Safeway I can get a whole container of soup for less. But when I do decide to spend $ 6 on soup, the tortilla soup is the best

I got the French toast combo with egg whites and bacon. I would say it’s typical breakfast food, nothing too special but I thought it was good. The service was good and efficient. You gotta try the mango mimosa!

The service here is so wonderfully friendly. I am not a regular, but they always remember me. I should become a regular! The food is great, too. Classic, quality diner food with unique touches, like their housemade tomatillo salsa. Clean, casual, cozy atmosphere.

Decent eggs Benedict. The staff all seemed upset at something. I wanted to try every breakfast place, so I went, but they have a lot of competition in the area, with several options more flavorful with a cheerier ambiance.

Food is subpar compared to brunch in other LG joints like LG Café and Oak & Rye. Sure it’s got a home-y/diner vibe, but that’s not enough for Los Gatos. Came here for an early Saturday breakfast around 9AM and there was no wait. There wasn’t a breakfast rush at all, compared to the LONG line at LG Café earlier up N Santa Cruz street. However, by the time we left though there were a few people sitting outside on the«waiting bench.» I love that Gilley’s has a container of free doggie treats before you enter(dog friendly). There aren’t any outdoor seats, but the treats are a nice touch you can only get in small towns like LG. Service was fast and regular, nothing special or anything to rave about. The food was what really let me down. I had their egg white special omelette which comes with fruit and a choice of toast or biscuits. I read in earlier Unilocal that the biscuits were«tdf» so I got that in place of toast. I wish I got toast. The biscuits were SO teeny. They weren’t even hot/steaming, and it was dry. What a bummer. Plus, my omelette was very small in brunch-sized portions(my friend even noticed that and pointed it out).such a bummer since I paid for it. My friend’s benny looked really yummy, and she said it was really good and filling. So if I were to order something from Gilley’s for the amount it’s worth… I’d say go with the benny. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back because nothing really got my engines revving. I feel like this is more of a longtime locals place that lacks the service, food, and vibes that a star brunch spot offers. I’d go to LG Café down the street or swing by Lou’s on LG Blvd.

Love the old fashion diner style set up and the food is FAB! Came here on a suggestion from staff at the Apple Store just a few doors down… we needed my new iPhone to «set up» before Apple could transfer my info over from my old phone so we came here for a late breakfast. Be warned, if you try to come here with a party bigger than 6, you may not be seated for quite some time as this place is on the small side. Perfect for part of 2 — 4. Reasonably priced and great food! A must if you are in Los Gatos!

Great food and excellent service. Will be coming back again. Had the Gilley’s Special and I am stuffed. Selection of Mimosa, the wifey had Mango and I had Pineapple. We originally was going to another spot but the wait was ridiculous. We check Unilocal and found this spot. We sat pretty quickly and food was served just as quickly. Thank you again to Unilocal and see you next time Gilley’s Coffee Shoppe!

This little gem makes actually home made hollandaise sauce for eggs Benedict. It was the best no soggy english muffin like everywhere else. And the. Coffee is amazing. What a gem!!!

What an awesome dog friendly brunch place! We ordered Italian scramble, chicken-apple scramble and classic Benedict, they are all really good especially the Italian scramble(presto sauce)! And all of the dishes are less salty and less greasy. I highly recommend their avocado presto salsa sauce for the hashbrown and breads. I also like the family home styled atmosphere of this place. The service is good!

The least busiest breakfast joint on the long but popular stretch in Los Gatos, Gilley’s is a throwback to the simpler diner era you often find portrayed in theaters, minus the gum chewing waitress. I ordered a custom omelet with a side of hash, but it wasn’t the hash I’m familiar with. In fact, it was a thick mat of potato with a really odd taste. I can’t describe it, but it had this weird tinge that was completely off. I didn’t finish the hash. The chicken apple and cheese that I ordered was as decent as something I could make at home myself, and it was a bit oddly shaped into a serving size that I would expect for someone half my weight for the price I paid. Nonetheless, the family was really nice and the atmosphere felt like grandma’s kitchen. Assuming I was born in the 60s and pale white.

Love this small mom and pop breakfast spot. Everything I’ve ordered here has never disappointed me. The service is awesome. Feels welcoming. Weekends are a bit busy. Honestly I only had to wait 5 – 10 mins on Saturday(not bad at all), Ohhhh, I totally recommend the sauce that his son made. I forgot what it was called :(it was a guacamole chile type of sauce. I had to buy a container of it! Yum! It is a bit on the pricy side but I don’t mind spending a few more bucks to support a local store. Additionally, it is in downtown Los Gatos which should explain the pricing. All in all, I recommend this yummy breakfast spot!

My daughter and I were in LG this morning and I was STARVING! So we grabbed some coffee at our usual Sunday am spot on hit the pavement in search of sweet breakfast goodness. Oh … and it needed to be CHEEP! Low and behold we stopped at this tasty spot(have walked past it a million times). Thankfully it wasn’t packed just yet and we were able to find 2 stool at the counter. As you all know, I love counter seating especially if it means I get to watch the cooks work their magic. Happy mommy right here! Okay, breakfast on a budget in Los Gatos can be almost impossible but not here! The kiddo and I split the Pancake Breakfast and added a side of hash browns. When we placed our order, the awesome guy behind the counter didn’t flinch when I said we’d like to share it. Pancake breakfast plate come with: two fluffy and delicious pancakes, two strips of perfectly cooked crispy bacon and two eggs cooked anyway you’d like(we chose scrambled). Side of hash browns: large portion so plenty to share but nothing to rave about. Pretty standard and a tad undercooked but we still ate every last bite! Loved that they actually«split» our order so we didn’t have to share a plate without even asking. Plus plus! This is a small super traditional coffee shop serving simple food but doing it really well. This is totally a locals place and the servers will remind you of your sweet great aunts. We left completely full and satisfied for about $ 10. If you’re looking for a traditional breakfast spot without the fancy twist and high price, this is a great option. We’ll be back!

After trying almost all the brunch places in the area, I think I’ve settled on Gilley’s as my favorite. I like how it is a smaller operation and not overly crowded(5 minute wait for three at noon on a Saturday). The food is delicious and the service is very friendly and quick. I loved my mushroom pesto scramble and hashbrowns. Their homemade salsa comes with every plate, which I found myself spreading on everything. We all got mimosas which were yummy and come in 5 different flavors. No bottomless mimosas here though, my only complaint :). Next time I have family or friends visiting, I’m taking them to Gilley’s for brunch.

I loved that this is a true family business. The mom, dad and son all working together. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and my man got the hash browns with sausage, eggs, potatoes & cheese. What was amazing bout his meal was the salsa. We asked about it and it is the son’s «secret recipe». Apparently they sell the salsa too. My sandwich was very cheesy and not too greasy as they can sometimes be. It might have the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life. So «go» before leave the house.

After ordering a Vegetable Scramble with Jalapeños and salsa on the side, I received a scramble with only Jalapeños, no vegetables. I also asked for a cup of water but after asking twice, I gave up. Lastly, I asked for the bill, but after 10 mins I decided that the only way to get the bill was to go to the counter. I left without leaving a tip, and probably won’t return.

If I can eat anything all the time at any given moment, it would be breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; it refuels your body after 4 – 8 hours of sleep, it is also responsible for kickstarting your metabolism, and you can literally pick savory or sweet depending on your mood or nutrition goal. On an adventure w/my kids on a random Saturday, we were to go to Oak Meadow in Los Gatos. My Unilocal bookmarks led me here. have got to love Unilocal! We were seated fairly quickly and immediately the warm and speedy service was bestowed upon us. Corn Beef Hash was calling for me. My daughter had the eggs and sausage whilst my son shared w/me plus a side of sausages. The food did not take long to arrive. My 2 eggs which I poked at the yolks to give my corn beef the«gravy» it needed. The eggs enhanced the corn beef very much. It wasn’t salty, it tasted perfect. The hash brown was fine, nothing amazing about it but it was because this simple dish came out and produced a delicious taste. I licked the plate. Kidding. I wish I did though.

It was my first visit to Los Gatos. I eyed eating at Los Gatos Café but the wait was an hour there Saturday at 11 a.m. so we walked down the street to Gilley’s. Gilley’s is a simple looking coffee shop that serves up some good breakfast dishes. You really can’t go wrong ordering any of their egg dishes with hash browns. Their corned beef hash, Joe’s Special, various egg scrambles all look good. We got… Avocado Eggs Benedict — Big, ripe avocado slices, ham, poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce on top of two english muffin halves. It’s their standard eggs benedict but add avocados. They didn’t skimp on the avocados. Served with crisp hash browns. It was really good and highly recommended. Gilley’s Special — A full plate of hash browns topped with fried onions, two cheeses, and bacon. You can add an egg or two which I did. I’m a big hash brown fan. This was my dish and I loved it. Biscuits — Their biscuits are not big, but they are homemade, slightly crunchy on the outside that crumbles into fluffy, flaky rich butteriness inside. I was a little skeptical when I saw the size of them but one bite in and they got me. If your meal offers toast, swap that for the biscuits! Chicken Tenders Kid’s Meal($ 5) — This was disappointing. They weren’t tenders. It was six chicken nuggets, smaller than your typical McNugget with just a few fries. For what we paid for, it wasn’t much food. They should have just packed out the plate with more fries to make it look fuller or added some toast or a couple of orange slices. Look at the picture and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Avocado Tomatillo Salsa — The manager(owner?) saw that we were really into our food and came by with a good sized cup of their in house salsa for us to try. It was a balance of all the ingredients in side… tomatillo, avocado, cilantro and maybe a little jalapeño. It was a tad sweet, had a little kick, but not too spicy. What impressed me the most was that I could taste all the flavors and not one stood out over another. You won’t be impressed by the interior, but Gilley’s does a very good breakfast for egg and potato lovers. If you walk by the back grill you’ll see that they have a mound of shredded potatoes on the grill just waiting to be browned off and served to you. I always appreciate when restaurants bring me samples of dishes and sauces that they are proud of. I would avoid the kid’s meals and just order more regular food, but that’s a small thing. It looks like a local favorite. I would totally come back if I was in the area!

We came for Sunday morning breakfast. Its a little confusing when you walk in, because it is not clear if you should seat yourself. But, we just found a table and a waitress came by quickly. I ordered the egg white omelet with fruit salad. The fruit was actually tasty, and it had bananas. I love a fruit salad with bananas. My hubby had the pancakes which he loved. This place has a lot of regulars, and I can see why. Everyone was really friendly to us, and the food is great tasting, and fairly inexpensive. They have gluten free bread options and cute old ladies bringing you mimosas. California charm.
