Nuance of Los Gatos

SUCH a cute shop! My mother and I were picking up my brother’s suit next door at Jos A Banks and saw an adorable outfit on one of the mannequins outside this shop as we passed by. I joked with my mom, «I bet it’s no less than $ 100!» and saw that it was only $ 37!!! Unfortunately, the top didn’t fit my mom, but the owner was very quick to offer some other suggestions. She was very friendly and easy to strike up a conversation with! After trying on a few tops (by the designer Pretty Woman), my mom ended up purchasing a very gorgeous, flattering top to wear out to dinner with her girlfriends tonight. It seems like the clothing is geared toward older women, but I’m 29 and saw some sun dresses and skirts that I’d wear! The shop itself is very small but there is a decent variety. We would’ve bought more but we weren’t planning on being out and about in downtown, it was just a quick errand. Just honestly couldn’t resist popping in! VERY satisfied customers! We will definitely be back to buy more cute stuff!

Love this shop! Although I wear Petite size I always find a great accessory or jewelry of some sort. I usually go with my sister in law and she always buys something colorful and modern! Good prices and personal customer service!

I have been a long time customer of Nuance of Los Gatos (20+years) and have come to know the owner, Holly, on a first name basis. I love the fact that you walk into the store and there are numerous outfits presented. You’ll find pants with coordinating tops put together with jewelry, scarves & handbags. It makes it easy to find what I want, and if I can’t find what I think I’m looking for, Holly assists in sharing ideas. This service used to be prevalent in big department stores but not any longer. It’s so lovely to see that customer service is not a thing of the past, it is alive and well at Nuance. Holly has such an engaging easy going nature, it makes shopping in her store an absolute joy.

Surprisingly affordable, cute clothes for women, not teens :-) It’s so nice to be able to shop for colorful, modern clothes that are sized for grownups, not 14 year olds. The owner is so welcoming and kind, and she’s always honest about whether something looks good on you. I also have to especially mention her earrings — I have allergies and cannot wear most inexpensive earrings, but the owner has that same allergy and so she only carries earrings that are safe, and they are priced very reasonably. I love buying silly earrings here. And great nightshirts, too, super comfortable ones that last forever. Fun holiday-​themed tops and accessories for EVERY holiday, and good deals after season on clearance stuff. I always seem to find something at Nuance.

Great store for fun clothes. I’m in my late 40s and work in a casual environment, and I find a lot of good work outfits here. Comfortable, reasonably priced, well-​made clothing with a little flair, that seems to be the norm here. I don’t buy the bling or the ruffly stuff, but there’s always something that works for me.

Nuance carries some of the cutest and most trendy, yet classy items for every woman. The shop is located on Main St. just a few steps around the corner from Santa Cruz Ave. Holly, the owner, has whimsical seasonal items as well as excellent quality women’s wear at very affordable prices. She is more than willing to help you find the perfect outfit, including her beautiful scarves, purses and jewelry to complete the look. It is worth a stop at her store just to meet her and take a look, she will brighten your day no matter what!

My birthday is December 6^th and my husband purchased a Christmas themed shirt a couple of weeks prior to my birthday as a gift for me. I loved the shirt but unfortunately it was too large so we returned to Nuance on December 7^th (with the receipt) to exchange it for the correct size. We were told that all Christmas themed items are final sale — no exchange or return. We weren’t asking for a refund, just an exchange. Yes, there is a sign posted near the register explaining this policy but unfortunately my husband didn’t see it and wasn’t told of the policy verbally nor was it printed on the receipt. The owner was very apologetic but wasn’t willing to accommodate my request to exchange the shirt for the correct size. While we try to support the local merchants of Los Gatos we will unfortunately no longer be shopping at Nuance due to the inflexibility of their exchange policy.

I almost hate to write a review of Nuance as I don’t want too many women buying «my» clothes! But, it’s such a wonderful shop where you can find «hip» clothing for a reasonable price, even though it’s in Los Gatos! Shock! The owner, Holly, is out of this world, so nice and so helpful. Holly carries a wide selection of basics that you always need in your wardrobe and then has an equally great selection of fun pieces to choose from. Need a purse to go with your new outfit or just a new one to spice things up for the season, she carries these too. Be sure to ask to see Holly’s two dogs that are often in the store with her.
