Party with Dr D

The first time I heard about a science-​themed birthday party was more than a year ago from a co-​worker, when I was planning my son’s 6^th. I googled «science themed bIrthday party Los Gatos/​bay area» and ended up on Dr. D.‘s site. I ran out of time in terms of planning my son’s 6^th and decided to postpone the party with Dr. D. for his 7^th. So this year, we were able to have Dr. D. for my son’s 7^th, and wow!, did Dr. D. put on a compelling show! We had a Despicable Me themed birthday party, and Dr. D. showed up as Dr. Gru! That was such a pleasant surprise for the kids — they loved it and were super excited to see what came next. Dr. D. entertained sixteen 7−8−9 year olds with «magical» science experiments for over an hour (which is an amazing feat itself)! Dr. D. was fabulous and a fantastic highlight of the birthday party. My son was ecstatic! I’ve heard from several parents that he’s way better than some of the other science-​themed parties they’ve been to, in terms of the quality of experiments, and the added major bonus of how he goes into character. I hands down recommend Dr. D. to anyone looking for a science themed birthday party for their kid. Dr. D. is a hidden gem of science themed birthday parties, and may be the best kept secret yet!
One more thing I want to note. I had to move the birthday party to a park location. The park I chose had many rules and regulations in terms of having vendors onsite. I must say that Dr. D. was so patient and understanding with the process, and willingly jumped through hoops in order to have him be able to entertain at the park. Another major kudos to you Dr. D!!!

Dr. D performed at my son, Peter’s, birthday party and it was a blast. Not only did the kids love the slime but the parents joined in too. I loved the way Dr. D stayed in character the whole time. He showed up on time and cleaned up after he left. I would definitely recommend him to my friends. He’s really good with special needs kids, as well. Very patient.

There comes a time when you know that you’re in the presence of pure genius. All my kids ever want to do is play sports, video games, and TV of course. And as far as science goes, that’s pretty much up there with taking the trash out and having to kiss their grandmother.
But who comes to the rescue, but Dr. D. I like to call him Double D’s or DD for short. We experienced him at a 10 year olds birthday party in Palo Alto recently. My kids never liked science before, but this guy made it so much fun, my kids couldn’t stop yapping about him on the way home. He does some pretty amazing things with dry ice and other sundry cool stuff. Super entertaining as well. My 9 year old is already asking if he can have Dr D for his birthday in July.
One of the great thing about him, he kept all ages engaged. Even my 13 yr old was into him. But I believe he gears his material towards different age groups.
Can’t say enough nice things about our experience.
