Came here yesterday with my friend looking for a Christmas tree. She wanted a Noble Fir, so we thought we’d stop by and see what kind of prices they had. We had checked out a different place over on Los Gatos Boulevard and they wanted $ 66 for a 5 foot tree! The staff was VERY friendly and I easily flagged someone down to give me prices. Each tree is nearly perfect, which I suppose is mandatory in Los Gatos. :) They wanted $ 56 for a 5 ft Noble Fir. Ok, better than the other place, but still… kind expensive. I wanted a Grand Fir. I like the feathered needles. Price for my 6ft tree, $ 42! What a steal!!! They helped us load the tree into the car and were extremely nice. Oh, and did I mention they had 9 golden lab puppies!!! SO freaking cute! I enjoyed my experience and would recommend them for sure!

Peppertree Schools just had a devastating fire that destroyed their pre school on on Los Gatos-Almaden Road. I hadn’t heard about it on the news, but overheard someone telling Jeff, the owner of the business, that they were sorry to hear about the fire the other day. Apparently Jeff works with and runs the school as well. I was already thinking about doing a review for this Christmas tree lot because Jeff is nice, and his lot is close to where I work, but that thing with the fire gave me the extra push to sit my butt down and write this. (UPDATE — to add insult to injury, I just found out they were also ROBBED! Someone came and took thousands of dollars worth of their stuff, including all their poinsettias! Who in the world would rip those off POINSETTIAS?!?) My company just started doing business with Jeff and I had to approach him last week with my little«sales schpiel» — which I haaaaate doing. You’d think it shouldn’t be so bad because I’m selling cool stuff and everything is on commission, but I still hate it. I get major social anxiety and can’t stand the thought that I could be bugging people while they’re trying to work(and I’m seeing these christmas tree lot owners are always super busy). But Jeff was really cool and was one of the first people who agreed to stock our little«Christmas tree minders»(it’s a little device you stick in a Christmas tree’s water source to let you know when to water). And he’s been selling ‘em for us! Woohoo! Anyway, I really appreciate that he was willing to give my company’s items a try. Not everyone is this nice. I’ve encountered a couple of lot owners who could be a little grouchy or rude. Which makes me want to give the nice ones a big hug!(If I have time I’m going to try to squeeze in a few more reviews for some of the other sweet ones). The Peppertree lot carries a large selection of fresh cut Christmas trees, and they carry most accessories than most places. I’ve been to LOTS of different lots in the bay area and am finding that most people don’t have time to stock too many items, but Peppertree has a whole little booth/tent set up for that kind of thing. When you go to the lot you’ll almost always get to see his two dogs there. They are soooo cute, and friendly. And they’ll be stoked if you pick up one of their slobbery dog toys and give it a throw. The other lot workers said they can play fetch all day. One more reason I thought Jeff was cool — I asked him where he got his dog toy because I was looking for a similar one for my boss, who has two german shepherds. He gave me tips and driving directions for where to get the best dog toys in the area. Anyway, if you’re planning on getting a Christmas tree this year and live in the Los Gatos area, please consider getting a tree from Peppertree Schools. They have a great staff and could probably use a little support after their tragic loss. Their lot is easy to spot — right on the corner of Winchester and Lark. Parking is right there in the front.
