Scott is a passionate coach that loves to share his knowledge of football through coaching. He was my coach at the San Jose State men’s club soccer team for one year. The year before Scott took control of the soccer club it was a mess and we held a losing record. Once Scott took over as coach, he immediately imposed strict player regulations, invoked new fitness exercises, gave the team a new structure, and heavily stressed functional tactics on the field. From holding a losing record the year before, we immediately became a strong competitive team that was feared; we won against the Cal Poly, Stanford, and Berkeley club teams which were considered the club giants in our area. Scott also led the San Jose State Men’s Club Soccer team to its first Championship taking first place in the San Diego Open Cup where several club teams from around the state participated. All in all, Scott loves the sport of football and is a dedicated coach focused on ensuring the health and well-being of his players.

Scott coached our son’s U10 team for one season. In that short time he achieved more than we could have hoped for. Not only did he shape a group of lively 10 year olds into a tournament-winning team, but he also instilled confidence, discipline and a passion for the game that burns stronger than ever.

Scott has impressive knowledge when it comes to soccer coaching. He is an Advanced certified coach and is persuing his NSCAA Premier badge. I have assisted him with the San Jose State men’s club team. Scott is successful because he understands proper training methods and strategy. Players respond to Scott’s coaching methods and style and he adjusts his approach for each athlete.

Scott first and foremost showed the boys how to play like a team. While doing so, he found a way to teach strategy to a group of 10 year olds who hadn’t played together before. Scott made a tremendous impact on our son’s life that year. In a way so few educators and coaches can, he imparted his love for the game and inspired Alex and several other team mates to pursue competitive soccer.
