Celebrated my birthday here and definitely worth the drive from Albuquerque! The mansion was all decorated for Christmas… beautiful! My companion ordered the Oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer. Tasty, but I can’t compare since I don’t believe I’ve ever had them before. I ordered the Mansion Steak; a filet. topped with crab meat and bernaise sauce. The steak was very tender. I ordered medium and it was a tad on rare side. Next time I’ll play it safe and go with medium well. I like all the ingredients on the Mansion Steak but next time I’ll just order a straight filet. It’s hard to top a good steak… figuratively, and literally! With the steak you have a choice of potatoes and I went with the mashed potatoes. They also had a little side of vegetables on the plate. With the meal came warm bread. The meal was $ 32 and I added a half order of Moonshine Salad which had cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, candied nuts, in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing for an additional $ 6. Overall, it’s a great place for a special occasion meal. We sat in the room between the sunroom and the front main room. the front rooms of the house are the prettiest and I’ll ask to be seated there next time. There is also a lounge upstairs which was quite nice. I don’t know if you can actually have dinner there but we could have moved upstairs for our dessert which was mud pie. We were feeling a little lazy right after finishing our meal but after seeing the upstairs area we should have moved upstairs for dessert. Very quaint. The history of Luna mansion was very interesting and the staff was very welcoming and happy to point out photos on the wall and tell us the background behind them. We even got a little flyer to take home with us so we could read more about it. They also have a website for even more information. I will definitely take a look. The family also owns a New Mexican restaurant across the street called Teofilo’s which I plan on trying. I’ll probably go down to shop at some antique stores and have lunch there and make a day of it.

The mansion is beautiful and the service was friendly. The food, however, was overpriced and uninspired.

My husband brought me here for my birthday because we’d both been curious about visiting the mansion for quite some time. He made a reservation for a Wednesday night, so it was not crowded and we had our choice of where to sit. The atmosphere of the mansion and the historic photos throughout the dining area were really interesting and fun, which is why I imagine most people want to dine here. Our service and food were good, but nothing exceptional, which is why I gave it a 4-star rating. No complaints, just nothing to rave about(especially for the price). I would bring guests here if they were looking for something unique to do.

Food was good. A bit pricey though. The history of the house was far more entertaining than the food itself. Didn’t see any ghosts!

I have since eaten here. The calamari is still not great. Soggy, comes in a soup bowl.

My hubby and I went there for lunch on August 1st and was quite disappointed. I love the atmosphere but today, the food was not up to par. First, the tomatoes in the caprese were pale, tough, with no juice or flavor. Also, the cheese wasn’t great. Buffalo mozzarella would have been better. The basil and balsamic was delicious. Second, the warm bread that was served to us was extremely chewy; I believe it was microwaved. Thirdly, the Alfredo sauce had absolutely no flavor. The green chile and chicken was very tasty. My hubby had the chicken caprese sandwich. He took the tomatoes out and it was a delicious sandwich! The bun was amazing! I was really impressed with that! I hope you don’t take this as insult. I just think these are things you can look into and make it better. I look forward to eating there again.

Nice atmosphere. Service was bad. Waitress forgot about us, 15 minutes to get our drinks. Got served our hamburgers without a top bun. Fries looked and tasted like freezer fries.

Luna mansion never disappoints. Great food, great atmosphere. The prices listed on here are a little old and the menu has changed a little but still awesome. Get the shrimp wontons!

I have had several check ins to this restaurant. I really want to say WOW, that was great. It is not. It is ok. For atmosphere and trying to impress, this place is 5 star. This last time I tried the French Onion Soup. It was too salty for me, but I have a sensitivity to salt so that could just be me. The soup was unspectacular. Next I tried the 6 ounce filet since I had tried the chicken the times before. It was exactly how a dry aged steak should taste, but again nothing spectacular. Now the reason I gave this place 5 stars is because the keylime pie was very tasty! I don’t find it on the menu at many restaurants, so that does impress me. The Luna Mansion is also attempting to get in on the micro-brew wave. However, they chose to go with Tractor. Another unspectacular beer, but better than the national brand beers. So if you like meat and great atmosphere this is your place.

The only good food I’ve found in Los Lunas. Great atmosphere, excellent steak and burgers, awesome lounge upstairs. Very friendly servers.

Great food, great service and a ghost roaming the halls too(haven’t seen her myself yet, but fingers crossed)! Their filets are amazing and rival the best steakhouses throughout the Country. A great stop if you’re near ABQ!

Went for drinks upstairs during a visit… Everyone that worked there was fantastic… New manager talked to us for about 15 minutes … The best part was that there was a ghost hunter group setting up for the night… I cant wait to go back for a full dinner

A very special place. Acknowledging how good this place is is hard. I’m 39 years old, I’ve been to Spain, Korea, Saint Croix, all over the USA, and more. I’ve eaten at hundreds of different places around the world, and this one is at the top. I’ve had the single best meal I’ve ever eaten here, and the 3 best steaks I’ve ever had, also here. Some of the best prime rib in existence(order it, they’ll say it is 12 ounces but it is more like 18 to 20), and deserts that will make you wonder what your grandma was doing wrong. Lets go through it shall we? First off, it is all locally grown beef, and it is all aged(dry I think?) for around 24 days if I remember right. Ribeye? Yup, the size of a backpack. Good, not the best I’ve had, but very good, I think I’ve just fallen out of love with all of the fat associated with these. New York Strip? To die for! Single best steaks I’ve ever had. Get it with the fresh(heated up too) local green chile and you’ll be transported to a heavenly place. I’m serious, the first time I got this meal I had tears coming out of my eyes it was so good(I’m tearing up now just talking about it!). The strip is huge, again, larger than you are quoted. They cook it perfectly(rare to medium rare as ordered). Pork Chop? Oh my lord. They had one on special before that was big enough to beat a pig to death with, it must have been at least 2.5 inches thick. Rubbed in a red chile powder and grilled to perfection. Best pork chop I’ve ever had. Prime Rib? Goodness, just great goodness. Cooked right, served right, tastes right. Not too salty, not too hot, just perfect. The single best thing I’ve ever eaten? They have a Filet Mignon they do, served over pasta. Basically they do a angelhair pasta, with a red chile cream sauce, topped with a 8 ounce or so filet that is rubbed and cooked to perfection and sliced over the top. I want to eat this every day for the rest of my life, and afterlife too, it is amazing. It is occasionally a special, and you can usually order it if it isn’t. Simply amazing. The last time I went I got the chicken salad, which was also just outstanding, with candied walnuts(I hate walnuts, but these were fantastic!) and a balsamic vinaigrette(no blue cheese crumbles for me please), and was plenty of food for me. Veggies are all locally grown and seasonal, and are all cooked perfectly. Deserts, from the best carrot cake I’ve ever had, to one of the best slices of Key Lime Pie I’ve ever had(not neon green = good), these guys have it down. And I didn’t even mention the bar. Only a few beers on tap, and a few in bottles, they have a full bar upstairs, often accompanied by great music from local artists LIVE. The beer is always cold, the service is(usually) outstanding up there, and they have other food available. Chicken Wings? Oh yeah, HOT with a chipotle sauce they make, but nice and meaty. Shrimp/Jalapeño WonTons? Oh dear lord are these great. Burgers, the size of my head, and just fantastic. Thick cut fries, crispy, delicious. And the Green Chile Braut Sandwich, just fantastic. Local, local, local. Great place, I’m glad it is here, the ambiance is great, the building is over a hundred years old, and they treat you right whether you come in shorts and a t-shirt or in a suit and tie.

This place is amazing. Very good steaks, worth the price, and the absolute best spinach and artichoke dip we have ever had. The atmosphere is something I didn’t expect to find in New Mexico. The straight back chairs and warm lighting went perfectly with the building. Go and eat steaks in a mansion!

The luna mansion… Being im from out of town, I wasn’t too sure on what to expect. This is the nicer restaurant in town and I agree. The house is beautiful. It was built in the 1800s and it still has that old feel and look. They have done a nice job keeping the place looking nice but not taking away from the historic old feel. I sat at the bar up stairs which is a nice little bar with a good selection. The service was great and very friendly. It is a nicer restaurant and I wouldn’t wear shorts or a hat here. The food was decent. It was expensive. The quality of the food was good it just didn’t have much flavor and my steak was too rare when I ordered it medium rare. The Yukon whipped potatoes were basic and could use more butter, salt and other seasoning. Again, the food was decent, just not great. I think it was over priced for what they served. If this were in a major metro city, I would have given it two stars rather than three. I would go here again but I won’t be in a hurry.

Just had a wonderful dinner here. The lamb chops were fantastic, and so was the Mansion Steak. Wonderful! The bartender upstairs is great also!

The Luna Mansion is a unique classy restaurant in Los Lunas. The restaurant is inside of a mansion and the seating is in different rooms of the house. The ambience was completely different from anything that I have seen in Albuquerque and its surroundings. To start dinner we had some cocktails which were excellently prepared. The wine list was an interesting mix of local wines along with a more typical selection. The food was amazing. The steaks were prime cuts of meat and beautifully prepared. My favorite thing was the sweet potatoe fries. They were the best I think that I have ever had. The service throughout the dinner was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and had useful suggestions for drinks and entrees. Our experience at the Luna Mansion was amazing and it is definitely worth the drive from ABQ.

This was a 5 star dining experience. I never thought of coming as far as Los Lunas for dinner, since there is good stuff to be had here in Albuquerque. Besides my husband cooks fantastic steak, so at this point I’m very hard to impress. It was my mother/father in-law who were visiting town who saw this place in a brochure at their hotel and suggested we go there. I cannot explain how much I LOVED this place. The restaurant is beautiful, the steak is delicious and cook to perfection and the servers are very polite and nice. The prices are not cheap, but no more expensive than you’d pay for the same thing in ABQ. I certainly recommend trying it.

Top notch upscale dining in the suburbs. The historic Luna mansion is beautiful on the inside and out. The dining is formal and the staff friendly, courteous, and attentive. The food was mixed. The artichoke appetizer was somewhat bland and the toast was tough and rubbery, not crisp. The entrees were much better. My NY strip was an excellent aged cut seasoned and cooked perfectly. My companion was extremely satisfied with the grilled salmon. After dinner, we skipped dessert and wandered upstairs to the bar for the live entertainment and an after dinner drink.
