Such an amazing place. The amount of work the owners put into the once a month opening looks daunting. They have a unique eye of choosing repurposed furniture, wonderful design objects, and so many things. I try to never miss it and I have noticed people are coming from all around the DC area to shop. If someone is looking for«antiques» as a reviewer said, and they are indeed antique shoppers, this store is not promoted as such;(please be more careful of those type of damaging reviews). These are Great Local Business Owners. Thank you so much for all the work and care you put into your business.

Oh my goodness! Run for your lives! Etsy has exploded all over a place in Prince George’s County. Seriously. GypsyFaire is like Etsy if you could actually touch and feel the craft market rather than just looking at the things online. And without Photoshop, some of them look kind of janky. Not that there are not finds here. If you’re in the market for some good themed signs about fishing, this is the place to find them. And there are plenty of antique metal letterings(though their exact age is something that is not revealed). Some things are priced way beyond what I would pay for things like found art, but there are some bargain bins around for those who are in the market was for a nice trinket for the hearth that looks expensive but isn’t. If I had a boat house, these are the kind of things I would use to decorate it. Though I’m not 100% sold on buying something like a chair here since they are very pricy! There is some funky(in both senses of the word) choices to be had for the right buyer though. Even though I didn’t buy anything, it was fun to browse. It’s a very laid back environment since the artists themselves are not on site(like at most flea markets where they try to hawk their wares). It is pretty conveniently located off of Maryland 4 before it gets very rural so it is a good way to spend some time coming home from Calvert County. At least if you catch them the one weekend a month(the first one usually) they’re open.

The weekend we moved to Harwood I came across Gypsy Faire’s Facebook page(Which I highly recommend following). They were having their one year anniversary and a benefit that night with was open to all! There were Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, sweets and a silent auction for the benefit(So much fun!) They primarily open on the first weekend of the month. I say primarily because they were also open for small business Saturday after Thanksgiving. The idea is you go in and anything that you know you want you pull the tag to buy(again so much fun!) There is furniture, décor, and outside vendors that set up space inside as well as a clothing boutique truck that has been there too. I really feel like the prices were fair. We bought two very large furniture items(buffet and another piece that is hard to describe but I will add a picture), an antique tool chest, a cute sign based on the song«You are my sunshine,» a vintage mailbox and a cool wine barrel all for around $ 750. It was really easy to coordinate to pick up the bigger items the following week and they even had help for loading the truck. We’ve been back every month since!

This new place opened up last year in a small out of the way building in the area. Hopefully they will do fine there and make sure to stop by and take a look. Now saying that, I will say something that I always say about places like this. 1) There is a difference between antiques and«created» antiques. There are many places that diddy up items to make them look old and look antique like. I know many such places in the area. Use good shopping brains. If you are not an antique expert never consider an item an antique if you don’t know the difference. Buy your items based on if you like them or not. Some stores have talented people who can paint/decorate items to look really nice and you might like them, some cannot. 2) Always, and always remember that you shouldn’t pay very high prices for«created antiques». Just because someone found an old neat looking dresser, painted it up to look old, and tries to sell it for 2000 dollars doesn’t make it worth 2000 dollars. A real valuable antique is worth the money, a created antique is worth what the effort to make it is worth. I’ve seen items that look neat but probably took 20 bucks worth of paint to fix up, and are being priced at hundreds/thousands of dollars, and on the flip side some items that easily you can see took a lot of hard work to fix up and decorate that might be worth the price. Just use your brain. Figure if you can buy a similar item at wallmart for 50 bucks compared to the 500 they want for an old chair painted to look«weathered». The best way to decide is to just stop by and take a look. You never know if your going to like a place by just viewing reviews or pics online. First hand knowledge is the best way.

What an interesting place! This is a really funky flea market/furniture store that is worth the trek. This small warehouse is out in the middle of Lothian. When you find a parking spot and start walking toward the building, you realize how eclectic an experience it will be. Once you get inside, there are lots of little doodads to grab your interest. My wife found antique lightbulbs for four dollars. I found lots of furniture that were really interesting, such as several wardrobes that could be converted to pantries. The prices were extremely reasonable. The bloody Mary’s mentioned in another review seem to be a regular occurrence. They are only open on the first weekend of each month, but they do take credit cards. You must pick up and deliver your own purchases.

I enjoyed venturing out to the location. Right now there only open the first weekend of every month. Be sure to mark your calendar for days opened! Items were priced fair and they had a nice selection however I wish there was more to choose from. They have a great concept and its fun just want more of! Hopefully as they grow the company will build. They were making bloody Mary’s for the local shoppers! What a fun environment! Come check it out and given them a reason to continue! They also have a facebook page that seems to have picture updates.
