How Disappointing… I was given a beautiful gift basked for my wedding. The gift basket came with a wonderful assortment of items all wrapped together in cellophane. The presentation was beautiful and with all the wedding festivities and guests we had left the gift basket on the counter — wrapped just as it was when it left the store in KY. When we finally had a spare minute to unwrap the gift and look at each individual item in the basket we discovered that some of the items needed to be refrigerated! There was NOINDICATION on the exterior packaging that anything needed to be tended to immediately or refrigerated. Unfortunately some of the items were ruined(moldy). I called the store to tell them and they indicated that they would SELL me the items I wanted to replace for 50% off plus shipping. How sad, they don’t take the time to indicate on their packaging that items need immediate attention and then they still try to make money by selling you items that they could have prevented damage to :( Bad business — too bad because they seem to have nice products.

I stopped in here to pick up a couple of souvenirs and a gift for Girlfriend on my way home. A Taste of Kentucky is nice store with a lot of Kentucky-themed stuff! Being a big bourbon fan, I picked up a few bourbon themed souvenirs for myself(shotglass, bumper sticker, and a few other things). Some other things they have include Kentucky Derby related items, Louisville Slugger items, T-shirts, candles, Maker’s Mark related items, books, and things related to the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. The staff was very helpful. They were both helping one guy look for something for Mother’s Day when I walked in. They didn’t have exactly what he wanted, but they helped him find something just as good and then wrapped it up for him. Then one of the ladies turned her attention to me. She was very sweet and helped me look for a perfect gift for Girlfriend. She also wanted me to sample some bourbon cake and some great dill dip that they were also selling. I tried them both and they were delicious! I finally got what I wanted and she started to cash me out. She also threw in a couple of freebies(a limited edition Kentucky Derby glass) and a Kentucky Homes magazine for Girlfriend. I really enjoyed my entire visit to Louisville, but seeing some good old-fashioned Southern Hospitality here made me leave with a big smile on my face!
