The four-star rating is based solely on the pizza, which is the best thing they serve. Tons of toppings, plenty of cheese, crispy crust. I’ve heard their subs are good, too, especially the chicken parm. I’ve never had it myself. Their salads are pretty good, too. The one thing to stay away from is the calzones. Doughy with hardly any stuffing — just a bunch of doughy bread.

Food was bland and everything tasted the same. Server was polite and attentive but it was 3 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon. Only people in the place was a 40 something man with his 8 year old son sitting at the bar drinking beer watching the U of K game. Yes the boy was at the bar too but not drinking beer thank goodness. But dad was giving him money to try his hand at the video poker. The bartender even got him some change. How nice! Too much for us!

If you stand by the theory that you want to eat where the locals eat, well, here is one such place. Very much a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, but the folks are super friendly and the food was fine. I had a pizza and saw no reason for it to get the panning it got in the earlier review.

This is the worse pizza I’ve ever had. It got me sick and. Tasted horribly. For the love of god, do NOT go here.

A little off the beaten trail out in Okolona, not far from McNeely Lake Park and the Smyrna exit off the Gene Snyder, sits this little neighborhood pizza pub. Started off with a Sam Adams($ 1.75 for a draft!) and some breadsticks to start, which were swimming in garlic butter and parmesan cheese, tasty. Not bad pizza, had the thin crust, which was heavier than I usually care for, but passable. Had a good crowd for a Tuesday night, surprisingly so, and unfortunately that doesn’t bode well for conversation. The concrete walls are terrible acoustically, and sound bounces all over the place. The service was friendly but possibly a little slow(probably due to the crowd,) the food was good(not mind-blowingly great,) and the atmosphere could be better but clean and appropriate for families and the neighborhood sports fans. A major plus would be a couple classic video games(a sit-down Space Invaders and a Golden Tee!)
