My propane furnace died this winter after 26 years of service. I called Bryant on the day of the snow storm; they were more than willing to come on out and have a look. Polite, professional and got right down to it, showed me what was wrong, told me how much it would cost. Turns out a repair was only going to be a band aid, so I decided to replace my furnace. They told me my options and showed me a range of choices, we had a new furnace by the end of the day. I could not be more pleased with their courtesy and efficiency. Give those guys a raise, they deserve it. Thank you Bryant for such fast and efficient service, keep up the good work. I definitely don’t feel like I was scammed or sold a bill of goods, the tech told me what I already knew. Don’t know what to think about the bad reviews here, but my experience was a good one.

Long story short, had Bryant come out for a service and clean, I was at work this day, but in-law was at the house. Bryant tech said and I quote from the receipt«did check and clean on a/c, unit shut down twice, found bad compressor, making loud grinding noise, a/c unit not working properly.» So i called the tech with Bryant and was told I needed to replace the compressor(2500) and possibly the unit which would be between 5000 – 10000. so I called the Home Warranty company, they came out did a check showed my in-law that the unit had not been cleaned as Bryant had stated and the unit is indeed cooling at this time. SOYOUASKWHOISLYINGHERE? THEWARRANTYCOMPANYRIGHT, THEYDON’T WANTTOPAY. So I call Bryant and inform them that I believe I was being SCAMMED by their company, they agreed to send a new tech out to reinspect. the tech found and I Quote from the receipt«C&C– unit is in proper working condition cop in specs, temp drop 19 degree, compressor ohms good 1000+ good amp draws, coils are clean.» THREETECHSLOOKATTHESAMESYSTEM(TWOAREFROMBRYANTHEATINGANDCOOLING) ANDONEBRYANTTECH, FINDSTHAT I NEEDANYWHEREFROM $ 2500DOLLARSWORTHOFWORKOR A NEWUNITWHICHCANRANGEBETWEEN $ 5000-$ 10000. Maybe Bryant Techs get a kick back for selling units to homeowners, so it would only make since to recommend replacing a working unit if you will reap monetary benefits from the sell.

I filed my complaint with the BBB and was issued a $ 200 refund. The check took nearly a month to arrive but I did consider my complaint«resolved» under the BBBs guidelines — however, this still doesn’t address the consistent complaints from consumers. I have no doubt that I was gouged and thankfully I took plenty of notes to backup my claim. I feel as though a lot of people wouldn’t fight as much as I did to get this resolved and I’m guessing they bank on this — literally. With that said, I was issued a $ 273 refund, in total on an original $ 585. So I was still charged $ 312 for $ 20 worth of equipment and 5 minutes of labor. Caveat Emptor…

Do NOT use this company! I work as a nurse case manager and have an elderly patient who was scared into spending hundreds of dollars on a furnace«upgrade» money she didn’t really have. She was lead to believe her motor would go bad a clear case of hard selling. Not technically illegal but certainly unethical.
