Not much to rave about this greasy spoon, service is usually deplorable at best, the food, most often time arrives either cold, burned, missing something or entirely something else you didn’t order. your wait will vary depending on your relation to the staff. Recently on two separate visits to this establishment, they only confirmed poor consistency in both food quality, ability to prepare order. First order was a reuben sandwich with fries, received a thin cut sandwich steak instead of corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing on what appeared to be toasted sour dough bread, no cheese?! after notifying the waitress, she stated cheese was extra?! so, apparently the cooks should review the menu before attempting to prepare it! during this visit while we waited 45 minutes for our order to arrive, we had the pleasure to view our waitress arguing with two ladies at the table next to us, apparently the order they had received was also sub par. over cooked fries with omitted items on sandwich requested, other order consisted of raw eggs and burnt bacon. due to time constraints now upon us due to the long wait time, I consumed part of what I was served. yea, it was pretty disgusting! Visit number two wasn’t by my decision, a friend decided to take us to breakfast, insisting Burger Boy against my hesitation. without fail, Burger Boy consistently proved to be incompetent. The dining area was full with customers, so we anticipated a wait. we were seated and given our drink order, my soda had a nice film of oil over it, Exxon would’ve been proud, considering the interior of the glass was also coated with oil. apparently the waitress didn’t like having to replace my drink, even after pointing out the problem, her attitude certainly changed towards us! during our one hour and forty minute wait, we both had the pleasure of watching the grill cook, cook one order ONLY at a time! witnessed two orders come back only to add to our discontent, knowing we’d only need to put in an address forward card to Burger Boy, we’ll be there awhile. upon the second hour we left, no food, just wasted time! Would I recommend Burger Boy to anyone? definitely not! The owner had printed leaflet menus next to the cash register, boasting other new greasy spoons he recently opened. judging by the complete lack of ability, mismanaged orders, poor food quality and under qualified staff, he’d best shut those other places down and concentrate on one business, that clearly needs help

It’s exactly what you expect… and that’s why I like it. Good food, Americana atmosphere, friendly staff… a great place to relax and be yourself.

You know what you are getting when you walk in. They do a great job… when it comes to feeding you. You get what you pay for and nothing more… as it should be. Get the Burger Boy Special… double burger, fries and soft drink.

Burger Boy is absolutely amazing! The service… not so much. I’ve been there three times and each time the service was not the greatest. However, the food makes up for it. It’s a diner with all the fixin’s. And it’s open 24⁄7! They’ve got breakfast, lunch and dinner items. From biscuits and gravy, eggs, sandwiches, seasoned fries, greasy burgers and much more! All day, everyday! The service is the only reason why they are not getting 5 stars on my behalf. They only have one cook(the station is kind of small). It reminds me of Waffle House. And I’ve only ever seen one waitress. The wait for the food is kind of long. Same with getting your drinks or refills sometimes. When the house is packed, you need to have a deck of cards in hand so you can waste time. I will say that they have never been rude. Even at their busiest. You can tell they are trying their hardest to get the food out as quickly as possible. But having just one waitress and one cook that serves 30+ people at one time… it gets kinda hectic. I would suggest going during down times. It will be worth it!

Absolute crap. So my friends and I will occasionally have a guys night out and drink beer and talk about manly shit, including eating food that would destroy our physique, if we cared about that garbage, but we don’t. We’re men. We arrived with just enough of a buzz at 2AM from bar hopping through all the good spots around Louisville, we all had permagrin, needed a pit stops at a greasy spoon before we could close out the night with a few more bars. Walk in, sit down, discuss other manly shit, get drink orders from the strung out waitress, order food. And wait. And wait… And wait… And wait… Finally! An hour and a half later and COMPLETELY sober, the food arrives. By this point, I’m beyond pissed and not even hungry. The pancakes tasted like eggs, the bacon was low quality, the eggs weren’t cooked to order, and the hash browns tasted like dog breath. You know, when a dog kisses you on the mouth by surprise and you just kind of pretend it’s cool but deep down you want to throw up? Yeah. That. I picked at my food a bit more, leaving so freaking disappointed at the fact it was all garbage, and also at the point in the evening all the bars had already closed.

Burger Boy is basically Waffle House, just locally owned. Which is great for me, because Waffle House is probably my favorite restaurant, and I love buying local. * Greasy food * Open 24⁄7 * Very affordable * Serve breakfast all day * Perfect drunk destination Am I missing something? Oh yeah. Their fries are incredible. Just are. Eat them and believe me. Burger Boy. Dig it.

The food here is outstanding! They have made this little diner into such a welcoming and happy place with good for for a reasonable price. Occasionally, they have some staffing issues, but even when this occurs(like every business, they will occasionally have staffing issues), they are very positive and happy and work their hardest. The people there are pure entertainment and there is always a good time to be had there! I recommend the corned beef hash!

I’ve been to this place at least a dozen times and the food is affordable and consistently delicious. Why 1 star, you ask? Because the last 2 times I sat at a table and left after 15 minutes of no one acknowledging my presence. The first time I was there by myself and they were busy. I guess mistakes happen. The second time I came with 3 other people and sat at a table right in front of the cash register! The server walked past us a few times and didn’t say a thing. When she stopped to chat with her buddy, we were out. There’s absolutely no excuse. Never again.

The staff evidently doesn’t care about the customers time. They only care about taking your order, charging you for the order and then forgetting to prepare your order while they hangout with coworkers in the back. When confronted about the situation, the lady working was not sorry and even seemed mad at me for bring up my concern for her lack of concern. If they hired people that actually cared this place would be fine.

The burger boy really caters to; truck drivers, people who don’t drive trucks, and drunk people. I thankfully fit the bill because I drive a truck and I go when I’m drunk. This is not your grandfathers dinner because well he grew up in Texas but your friend Steven’s old man loved it. Don’t be a douche canoe and give this place a go. Tell em Stevens Dad sent yah.

This place was great. We were staying close by for the night and based on reviews here, we decided to give it a try. We walked in and we’re greeted by Tiffany, the head chef and the manager(I’m so sorry I didn’t get his name). They were awesome, so welcoming and friendly. I had the burger special, and it’s a good thing I was really hungry. it was delicious and the fries were among the best ever. The place is exactly what it says, a diner. Doesn’t look like anything from the outside, but t’s cute inside. I highly recommend it.

Delicious home cooked food. We come here frequently for their breakfast. As there’s only one cook it can be a little bit of a wait but it’s totally worth it. The waitresses are always very pleasant. And the dinner ambience can’t be beat. It’s open 24 hours a day. So after a late night out is the perfect spot. Or a very early morning start. For burgers or breakfast this place is top on my list.

I went today for a late breakfast. It’s a quaint place with a diner feel. The food was visually appealing but was very lackluster, I had the corned beef hash with hashbrowns and eggs over easy, also tried the biscuits and gravy. Nothing to rave about. The prices are decent and they are open 24⁄7 so I can see this being a great option for drunken late nights, though. I rarely complain about service having spent a few years in that industry, but it was truly awful. They weren’t busy and the server never came to or even looked at our table to refill our drinks or check on us. It took over 30 minutes to get our plates. Won’t be opting to come here again.

A greasy spoon with decent omelets and burgers. The food is pretty simple and reasonably priced. Burger boy is under new ownership now and honestly has lost a lot of its authenticity. I’ev been coming here for ten years. I strongly preferred burger boy under the previous owners. The same goes for the tavern. both places had a gritty authenticity. The food is edible but that is about all I can say. Now Juanitas is a greasy spoon college restaurant for the most part with slightly higher prices than before. The Juanitas of old had a crazy lady working the grill with a penis necklace that would pull a string and stiffen the dick in your face if it was your first time in the restaurant. The food hasn’t really changed that much but the personality is gone. Once a destination but now just another bullshit place with sandwiches and breakfast food.

I normally really like this place for their greasy diner food. This review is for last night’s staff. They got my order wrong, which is no big deal, it’s the fact that they got snotty with me when I pointed it out. They didn’t say sorry or offer to fix the mistake. Had it been busy I would have been understanding, however, it was slow in there. There was no need for attitude.

Our first time there will not be our last! Super friendly staff and our food was served quickly and the order was perfect! The burger was fresh, juicy and delicious! My husband had breakfast and hasn’t stopped talking about the bacon!

The important thing to remember when visiting Burger Boy is simple– just take it for what it is. The service is slow. That has been true while sitting at the counter for lunchtime or sitting outside at 3:00 in the morning. In my experiences, I have concluded it is this way because there never seems to be enough servers. I have never seen more than two servers waiting on customers. I think this is more of a management issue. With it being near more than one college campus, know that there will be intoxicated College students. They will be loud and annoying if you are not also intoxicated. Again, just take it for what is– a greasey late night diner within walking distance of tons of student housing. It makes for excellent people watching. The food is top notch diner food. I usually stick with a burger and fries as it never disappoints. A friend has told me before, «I will always spend my last $ 10 on Burger Boy.» The presentation appears to be nothing special, but there’s just something about the made to order food. The hand made milkshakes are highly recommended!

One of the best little dives I’ve ever been. My friends and I are always here late at night and so is everyone else. Being open 24⁄7 is a great thing for them so close to campus. The late night staff and chef are all very nice and don’t skip a bit. It can take a while to get your food sometimes, but it’s always crowded when I’m there so I’m sure that’s the only reason why. The greasy burgers and fries are more than worth the wait. Everyone here is always nice, workers and customers alike, and I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Greasy spoon at any time of the day? Yes! The lighted sign just says«restaurant». We really did not know whether we were at the right place when we entered. But we were hungry and desperate enough on this Thursday night at 9:30 to try our luck. The place is pleasant enough for a diner: more lively than Trig and Leaf and less Denny’s than a Denny’s or IHOP. Our server was friendly and greeted us quickly. She never let our drinks get below half empty. But since there is only one cook, our food did seem to take a while to arrive. The menu offers 24hr breakfast items, burgers and sandwiches and a few diner dinners. I really liked my order of corned beef hash with Swiss Cheese and 2 eggs over-medium. The corned beef was just salty enough to mix with the hash browns on the bottom. Swiss just happens to be my favorite cheese! I devoured the whole pile happily. Hubby said his order of junior burger was just like all of the other ones he’s had. We will be happy to return the next time we need a simple late night meal.
