Yeah, I ate here. It was time for lunch and I love sandwich, so I stopped in Dooley’s for sandwich. When deciding what sandwich to order I noticed the dry-erase daily special board hanging adjacent to the cash register. «Club Sandwich w/chips and side.» «Well that sounds mighty tasteful», I say, silently to myself. So, I tell the surly cashier my decision. «I’ll have the club special.» «$ 8»(and some change) says the surly cashier. A bit expensive, I’m thinking, but I have almost $ 200 bucks in my checking account, so money is not an issue. The world is mine. After 5 – 7 minutes, my sandwich is constructed and boxed with the potato salad and Sun Chips side. I am handed the box by the surly cashier. Wow! The box is heavy. I am not normally the type who leaves leftovers, but the sandwich was jumbo, potato salad plentiful, and I had leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. Tasty, too.(It also came with a drink.) I cannot wait for my next date with that, not-so-beautiful, surly, taciturn cashier again; Because what she lacks in personality, she makes up for in sandwich.
