Kathy and Joe’s Place

Slow service that resulted in tepid food at the table. The pancake was akin to rubber with synthetic syrup to boot.
Missing items from our order resulted in numerous attempts from differing staff to correct it to no avail.
The biscuits were good, but not good enough to justify the disastrous breakfast experience.
We came in at 10:30 and had to get many of our own items. We finally got out by noon.
Two stars because the server was nice.

Must go for breakfast and try their numerous different options for pancakes. Great service, great food, at a great price.

One of our favorite places to go for great home cooked food! They have some killer fried pickles, & you should try the fried green tomato BLT! Yum!

Really big burgers made from scratch.
You can go to McDonald’s and spend seven bucks for a quarter pounder large fry and a large drink and have a mediocre burger experience or go to Kathy and Joseph spend about seven bucks for a burger and chips plus a little more for a drink have a delightful experience with a burger full of toppings and unique sauces.
There is one secret ingredient no matter what you order that you get there it’s called love they love their customers, they love their business, and they love their uniqueness of their food.
I have known the owners for a long time and they will not serve anything that is frozen or premade they try to make everything they can in house. They are the foodies of the southwestern part of Louisville.
Their breakfast menu is impressive and you can get most of it all day with the exception of pancakes. Their omelettes are stuffed with plentiful toppings. And they make their biscuits from scratch each and every day fresh.
Do not hesitate to give them a try. Their restaurant is nothing more than a little bitty country place. It doesn’t have fancy tables and chairs, it’s Decour isn’t something out of a magazine. But you will find something there that you just don’t find very often. You’ll find a family there that works together and cares greatly about the community they serve.

Food was great. Employees were nice. Joe the owner came to our table to check on us. Marisa was our server and the best server I have ever had in my life. Four of us are and the bill was only $ 30. They should be known for their deliciously huge burgers. We will definitely be back!

We love Kathy and Joe’s. We have been here many times BUT today I had one of the best things I have ever eaten. Their grilled veggie breakfast burrito was incredible!
The atmosphere is country/​southern and the food is «home cooking». This place is truly a treasure as are the people that work here!

This is the best breakfast in Louisville. The biscuits and gravy are awesome and they have amazing omelets. If you prefer sweet breakfasts the pancake selection is to die for

Walked in at 105 PM and sat down at a table by the counter. Only about 4 tables occupied. Waited 10 minutes. 2 waitresses never acknowledged me. Walked out at 115 PM. Service leaves a lot to be desired.

The day before the Derby and the special was the Hot Brown. I really enjoyed it. It was $ 6.99 with a side which is a great price. The sandwhich had great crusty bread and tender real! turkey. and the sauce was good. My only criticism would be that it needed just a little more cheese in the sauce but, still, a great Hot Brown. The mashed potatoes were good too and tasted homemade. I also had a piece of Derby Pie but it was a little bit lacking in chocolate for my taste.
Overall, I will look forward to another visit. Very friendly atmosphere as well.

Well here we are again. My wife has been craving their pork chops all day & I’ve been thinking about their chef salad. These are what we had the last time we were here. Good food that deserves another yummy round!

I found this place and fell in love me and my family go at less once a week. Breakfast is the best always never have been disappointed. Always a good place to eat !!!

I don’t see why this place has a 5 star rating. The food is average, typical food.
I got the smokehouse burger and fries. My friend got the reuben. And my other friend got the egg/​sausage/​potato/​cheese breakfast thing.
Well all shared. The reuben was good. I did enjoy it. But then I love kraut.
The breakfast thing was also good. It was about what you’d expect it to be.
The burger was decent. It was really big but it was almost too big. It was a mess to eat.
I’ll give them this — they seemed to have their own seasoning for their fries. I didn’t care for it, as it was somewhat sweet. But props for trying something different.
At the end of the day — the food was average. The service was average. The décor and overall cleanliness was average. Although my friend did find a long hair in her food. The price was good. It is a good value.
I’m sure I’ll be back, because it is locally owned. But I’d rather go to Lone Wolf, across the street. Better food and better atmosphere. This place is a solid 2.5 to 3 stars for me.

This place is our new favorite for Breakfast! The service is wonderful, the price is super affordable and the food is delicious! The order of Pancakes is incredibly gracious and so fluffy! From the timeless Buttermilk to the Pumpkin & cinnamon. It’s so addictive! We love the omelets and the home fries. We have become regulars that’s for sure. We defiantly recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for a superb breakfast feast.

Great local restaurant that’s basically a mom and pop place. There have been so many different names on the place but the most recent, Kathy and Joe, are so nice and my mom and I love going there for breakfast. It’s always fast and it’s just like home cooked food, hits the spot when I want something good and greasy.

Amazing breakfast. Raspberry zinger pancakes and boston crème pancakes are on point. Well be back.

First off… I love the owners Kathy and Joe… they are genuinely good people who are concerned about their customers. They always ask about my family when I go there alone… that means something to me.
The food there is what I call good ol’ southern comfort food… and they have some awesome takes on the burgers. My favorite menu item is the southern cheese burger which is a thick burger with bourbon barbecue sauce… pimento cheese, and crushed potato chips on the bottom of the bun. (if you are from the south you will get this)
They make their own patties in house and they are seasoned to perfection. You will not get any frozen pre-​made stuff at this place every single menu item is fresh. Even their potato chips are made in house.
I eat there because it’s good food, you always get your money’s worth… and you will also get plenty of smiles, and a family vibe that is not found in chain restaurants.
I will say the place is old… the décor is country… the tables are worn… but it’s held together with one thing… LOVE!

Love this place especially the pancakes! We always feel like family when we go there. This is place I will always go back too. The staff is always friendly and the service quick. Oh and the homemade chips are yummy!

Food was great! The chocolate chip pancakes are to die! The prices are more than fair, I don’t know how they do that! The ONLY drawback was that some if our food was a little cold and I think that’s just because they were busy and a it looked a little understaffed. They were friendly and seemed to take pride in what they did.
