The restaurant is pretty good. I had the fish tacos & chips & guacamole. The guacamole is a bit spicy. I really enjoyed that it’s not just typical Mexican food, it’s a bit more«hipster» but in a very positive way! It is a bit pricey unless you go durning happy hour. Other than that I was really happy. A must go!

Not the worst meal, but completely forgettable. Margarita was probably the worst I’ve had. Service was poor, and they weren’t even busy. Wandered in by accident(were interested in Lulu’s, but saw their hostess and didn’t realize it was a different restaurant,) won’t be making that mistake again.

I love the veggie burritos. Shrimp tacos are great too. This is a great place to frequent for a happy hour, or for an easy night out.

Went down to La Rev for Cinco DeMayo. Long wait — which we expected. When we got sat, everything went downhill from there. Table next to us had some major issues and the server(a fellow who appeared to be intoxicated or on something) repeatedly apologized for the bad service and timing issues and bought them their entire meal. Bottom line for us — we waited exactly 31 minutes from the time we ordered some drinks to the time we complained and never received the drinks. The excuse was«we are really busy» but in reality, they were not. The patio and dining room were full with a few tables open — they were not«2 deep» or even«1-deep» at the bar which would be indicative of busy. They were under staffed and our server had some major organizational issues. It’s Cinco De Mayo! Wouldn’t ownership be prepared and staff up accordingly? Manager /owner was working behind the bar — not a good use of his time or efforts on a busy day. He laughed our issues off. I’ve been associated with the restaurant business for over 30 years — operations side. I’m not just an average customer who doesn’t understand what it takes to run a restaurant. If the business wants to succeed the ownership needs some help. Truly disappointing for downtown Louisville restaurants to have that level of service. Our friends left with a real bad taste in their mouth for this downtown scene and it will be hard to convince them to return…

0 for 4 in my book. Enticing location and happy hour but I am always disappointed with the lack of management. As much as I love watching the bus boy hit on the hostesses all night as the disgruntled waitresses trash talk their tables, it’s just not worth it. Oh and what kind of taco place doesn’t have hot sauce? We did have a good waitress this particular time, but she was the only one doing her job all night. Good job Ganice! Update: still Hate this place. Bartender asked for our Ids, threw a menu at us, then disappeared. What kind of Mexican place staffs one bartender on cinco de mayo? Awful.

I’m not in Louisville that often but when I am I make it a point to stop in to La Rev. For the best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. The house wine is also great for a «house wine». I generally get great service here as well. I wish they had one in Denver.

Lunch«special» — carne asada burrito for $ 10. Was a joke. A wet, sloppy, flour tortilla filled with a gigantic amount of rice, a spoonful of pinto beans & maybe 2 tablespoons of chopped up overdone beef. Will not return.

If you’re spice-sensitive, be careful what you order because they don’t list what is spicy and what is not. I like spicy food, but my wife does not, and she had to pain through a chicken mole dish because she was not prepare for the level of spice. Ask your waiter specifically about what has spice and what doesn’t, and to what degree. Otherwise, the food was okay, and the service was acceptable.

May be that Mexican food is created very different depending where you come from, but I moved here from a predominately Mexican area, and I loved the food here the two times I ate here. May be that I just got Lucky? Yeah may be the service is slow, but that allows you the time to chat and relax. Go to the food wagons if you are in a hurry. Carnitas and Carne Asada are all meat and delicious.

After-work dinner with coworkers, mojitos and margaritas were excellent but food was average and service was really slow. Wings ok, burger very dry, quesadilla bland. No salt or pepper on table. One item wasn’t available but server didn’t give us time to choose something else. Very difficult to get his attention and it was not very busy. We were a bit anxious about returning here as last time several coworkers saw their receipts altered with tips increased. So some of us paid cash.

I’ve given this place a shot 3 times and each time it was bad. The salsa is awful, maybe living in a dominantly paisono area I’m a harsh judge but as a Coloradoan and cook and lover of mexican cuisine… wow you have to seriously have to revise all of your salsas. They were all bad… so sorry to break this to you. All my meals here as well, bad I won’t pick them apart but really not good. Also, organization of a serving staff is really nice too. When arriving each occasion 2 busy and 1 dead I waited 20 min for a beer… not to mention how much longer everything else took. I’m not sure if I was just unlucky on all my visits but this place… cool name and that’s it.

Love hate relationship. Sometimes it’s fabulous, sometimes it’s horrible. The kitchen really needs to get their act together. Inconsistent is being nice. No concept of truth in menu either. Service depends on who you get. It can be great and it can be a literal nightmare. Drinks are fabulous. Food is really come and go. Go if you are willing to take the chance on blowing $ 100.

Great food, excellent prices and friendly staff. We had tacos, I had the mushroom asada and he had the albondiga soup. The meatballs were definitely Mexican style, I prefer Spanish, so I wasn’t terribly impressed, but the flavor of the tacos was awesome. We had the coconut chocolate torte that blew us away. The waiter thankfully removed the plate before I embarrassed myself licking the desert plate. The atmosphere is casual with a steady stream of singles frequenting the bar. Seating wasn’t terribly comfortable, but the little Dia de los Muertos artifacts were a nice touch.

Revolución was nothing special but fine for a quick light lunch. We started with some chips and a charred tomato salsa. The chips were thick-cut, which I liked, but they were a bit overcooked, almost burnt tasting. The salsa tasted pretty good but was very mild. I would have liked some heat. My son ordered the La Rev Chile Salad with chicken, which he said was fine. My wife ordered two tacos — red chile braised chicken and fish(Alaska cod with slaw with blue corn). She said the chicken was very flavorful and the fish was fine. I ordered the green chile stew. It was a decent sized bowl of chile with pulled pork. Very tasty and nicely spicy. The total bill was a little over $ 30. La Revolución was fine for a quick lunch when we happened to be in the area but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip.

After a wonderful hike, some friends took my wife and I for a late lunch. We both had our pups, and this establishment allowed them to hang out with us while we ate. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, which was HUGE! It was the size of a decent piece of firewood! It was really tasty. My wife had the shrimp tacos which were a manageable size for her and equally as good. Our friends offered the fish tacos and the Gringo burger, which they both raved about as well. It is set in a quaint area that is a pleasure to walk around. We will definitely be returning! To make the entire visit even more fantastic, I asked my wife to buy us a pint glass for our collection… When she asked the bartender, he gave it to her for free!!! A proverbial cherry on the cake!

La rev is full of flavor! From their La Rev(spicy) margarita to their many taco variations I tasted nothing but delicious. They also use higher end Dobel silver tequila for their house margaritas made with 100% blue agave. Their patio is large and the mood is reminiscent of something you would find near the beach in somewhere like California. Instead it’s located in the quaint main street of Louisville, Colorado. From sweet to spicy my tastebuds were very pleased with La Revolucíon.

We sat out on the patio on a nice summer night. I ordered the La Rev margarita definitely recommend. Ordered chips, guac, and salsa. The guacamole had great flavor with nice chunks of avocado served with fresh tortilla chips. Decided to try the tacos. I ordered the shrimp and the carne asada. They were good not the best I ever had but good. Our server was outstanding. I will definitely be back to try some more of their menu.

I like to go to La Revolucion during the summer, when I can enjoy their nice patio. They have good margaritas, and I especially like the spicy one(La Rev Margarita, with cayenne infused agave, according to the menu.) I am usually happy with the tacos(made with soft corn tortillas), and I like being able to get different ones. The chips, salsa and guac are also good. I’d say the big plus of the place is the patio, the food is good, nothing extraordinary, but then, it can be difficult to find outstanding Mexican in the area, so I am glad to have La Revolucion here is Louisville. It always seems to me that you either get good food, or good atmosphere in Mexican restaurants, and if you want both, it’s fairly rare and expensive. At La Revolucion, I get both.

When the restaurant next door couldn’t seat us because of a white party, La Revolucion was plan b. They were able to immediately seat our group of ~15 on a Saturday night. The waiters were attentive and the food came out fairly quickly, especially for a large group. The food wasn’t anything to write home about in terms of flavor, but I would have to say that’s because of the quality of ingredients used. The portions were huge and my platter was more than enough for two meals.
