Such a great pizza. Everytime I order from there I am more than pleased. Great apps too.

Not New York style — not even close — so don’t expect that at all. But it is perfectly fine pizza, open late, interesting toppings, and in an area that needs more food options. I’m pretty picky about my pizza but it’s solidly a pretty good pizza.

Well this is my third try for Pizza Donisi. The first 2 times I have tried their so-called Artisan pizzas they were overpriced crap. And the only reason I went for a third time is because my pretentious friend was buying and he likes overpriced Artisan crap. Well we got the Old Louisville Supreme which was supposed to be loaded with all sorts of great stuff. When we got it it was loaded with a few slices of pepperoni and what little other toppings were there we’re covered up with way too much cheese. I am upgrading to two stars because I was hungry, I didn’t pay, it tasted better than my other times and because I was drunk at the Mag Bar and that probably clouded my judgement.

Good pizza. Great employees. Located next to the best dive bar in Louisville. If pizza hut is your idea of good pizza you will hate this.

Pizza Type: New York Style Thin Crust Business Type: Family Owned/Independent Beer/Wine: None Overall opinion: Located in Old Louisville’s historic homes district, this is a very small 3 table(2 of which are out on the patio) joint. I had the Margherita, and it was very average. Given their location, it’s definitely a neighborhood pizza place. They offer by the slice, but get a fresh 10″ instead if you have a few extra minutes.

Ordered pizza and a salad Kate night on a one night stop over in Louisville! Amazing homemade crust and sauce on the pizza. Was very impressed!

Excellent pizza! Thin crust tasted like a communion wafer — a perfect platform for fresh toppings. Each element was fresh and flavorful from the delicious tomato sauce to the homemade sausage and the cheeses. It was like food for my soul.

Pretty good pizza but small front street seating. If the owner decides to expand then there would be more business I bet! On the other hand I love the different varieties of pizzas. I will be going back and taking others:)

A place open late for a quick to-go slice; often offer creative ingredients for the rotating weekly specials; and the chefs are kind — Donisi ticks some important boxes for me. It’s a little too pricy for the not-so-much pizza you get in return, but their BBQ chicken is my favorite pizza in Louisville.

Love this place! The Greek pizza is delicious and the tater tots covered in sausage and cheese is a must-have. Their delivery is pretty fast too.

Pizza under cooked… didn’t notice until we got home. Give it a try but if you like your pizza done(crispy crust, cheese gooey and a bit brown) you need to check it before you leave with your take out order. Reco the counter clerk show the customer the pizza before it is handed out.

In town for a trade show, which is usually an opportunity to try a nice restaurant downtown. This time we wanted to grab some wine and pizza and go low-key in the hotel room. But if a drive but reviews were strong. First, it’s next to a cool looking little neighborhood bar, so it’s a great set-up for locals. Second, it’s tiny– one little table outside and a table or two on the sidewalk outside. The food: got the Greek salad and meatball pizza. By the time we got back to the hotel we were committed so we were screwed if it wasn’t good. It was! Great pie. Will return.

I am going with 3 stars for Pizza Donisi but don’t let that stop you from going because it is legit It was a little late Saturday evening and we had not eaten dinner yet so we decided to walk over to this little dive pizza joint located right next to Magnolia Bar in Old Louisville. It is tiny inside. There are a couple of bistro tables– but for the most part you need to order to go. The people working there were friendly and explained the menu and the specials and made recommendations. We went with the largest BBQ chicken pizza as my friend can eat A LOT of food. :) We asked for extra sauce on the side and the crust to be well-done. They got 1 of 2 correct. The crust wasn’t crispy but it was still tasty. The sauce was delicious and so was the chicken. One of the best parts is while you are waiting for your order, you can go next door to Mag Bar and grab a drink and they will bring your food over. I would definitely try it again.

Right next door to Mag Bar, I’ve had been pizza but the fact its right next door I am giving it 4 stars. They have pizza ovens as well, while is a bonus when it comes to thin New York Style Pizza.

Being an Old Louisville resident, I appreciate a neighborhood restaurant that delivers. I have always received very friendly service whether that be from a delivery driver or a cashier when I walk in. While their pizza options are diverse with great flavors such as chicken tikka masala, I don’t care for the crust. It has always been undercooked. I recommend the calzones. They are huge and fairly inexpensive. I always love that you can order by the slice here!

I have heard amazing things about Pizza Donisi. Unilocal reviews, a trusted friend who raved about this place. I HAD to try it. So on a night when I was headed to Shakespeare in the Park in Central Park, I decided to drop by to try this pizza before the performance. I found the storefront, it was small, but cozy. Enough space for the menu, some chairs, and an outdoor seating area. I quickly realized what I wanted, cheese wontons and a personal margherita pizza. They took my order and advised me to wait for the pizza. I expected a long wait, I mean that’s a lot of food. About 15 minutes later, I had two boxes ready for me, wontons and pizza, so QUICK. I had the wontons first. They came with some dipping marinara. The wontons were perfection with herb seasonings within it. I’m still craving it now. The pizza. OH the pizza. Also perfection. The crust was thin and delicious. The sauce was fresh and tasty. The toppings were perfect. The cheese was ooey gooey and yummy. I liked the pizza so much I came back the next day to try another. This is definitely a great reason to go visit Old Louisville.

We arrived to our hotel in Louisville late and after a day of driving… we were tired and wanted to stay in. We searched Unilocal looking for a pizza place that delivered to our hotel that was NOT a chain. All of the places we thought looked amazing did NOT deliver, so we settled on this one because they did. We ordered two pizzas and the Tater Tot appetizer. BBQ Chicken and the Old Louisville. OMG! What a pleasant surprise! Best pizzas EVER! I’m not a huge pizza fan… but would, without a doubt, order from here again. Probably EVERY time we are in Louisville! Pizzas were so good and the tots were fabulous! So much so, that I’m willing to give this place 5 stars even though they forgot our two liter and failed to bring plates or utensils.

I lived around the corner from this place for a year without trying it and boy am I upset I waited so long. It’s an excellent little pizza shop and being able to buy pizza by the slice is a huge perk. NY style is great and Pizza Donisi does a great job with it, plus they have a few pretty unique specials every so often that I enjoy(brisket for example). Their pizza is pretty filling– sometimes I only need one slice. I haven’t had any of their calzones, but I’ve only heard great things about those as well. They also deliver which is nice if you’re getting a whole pie. I always get it to go anyway since they only have one or two small tables inside and a couple 2-tops outside their storefront. They’re also open pretty late which is somewhat rare this close to campus so I definitely like that about them as well.

This place has trumped Impellizeri’s as being my #1 pizza place in this city. For a few reasons. 1) You can buy it by the slice. I seldom get to go to Impellizeri’s, because people don’t really want to go that often. It gets expensive. Selling pizza by the slice is the way to go. 2) It is NY style. I didn’t say it was as good as NY pizza. I said it was NY style. Big, thin, can be folded in half and eaten. Makes for an easier eat. 3) It’s not as heavy as other pizza. I had 2 slices and I feel fine. I don’t feel weighed down. 4) They make their own sausage. And it is dope. 5) It just tastes better. Impellizeri’s is really good. Really very good. I love it. I’d rather have Donisi. I would have never known about this place if it weren’t for Unilocal.I was just scanning through Unilocal one day, and saw this pizza place I had never heard of. I was reading the reviews, and there was one review that stood out. I thought that I just had to try it. Thankful that I did. My life has changed forever. It is a very small place, so takeaway only. Unless you get one of the two tables or you sit on the curb. But that almost makes it better.
