Ramsi’s delivers!!! Yes! & Unilocal makes it easy! I searched who delivers, the menu for Ramsi’s came up. Et voila! So nice. One of my neighborhood favorites just got easier to access!!! Yay!

If you survive reading the menu you are well on your way to a wonderful meal. I tend to order the salmon sandwich but have had many items on their menu and all are good. For my vegan friends they are very much vegan friendly with a number of different dishes to satisfy your taste buds. Drinks are reasonable and well worth the trip. It’s the go-to place when you are in doubt were to go.

The food is delish! This is a popular spot so don’t be surprised on the wait time-though its worth it. I’m from out of town and I’ve already been here twice. i highly recommend it.

Brunch review; everything, i taste was delicious. There was nothing bad or bad quality. After this brunch you don’t need to eat whole day. My stomach has not enough capacity for so many foods. I could try only some of them. Some advises: Maybe pitas can be softer. Tea variety can be improved and tea can be brewed in small teapots.

I had heard this was a cool place so I stopped in for the brunch buffet on a Sunday. The food was alright but definitely not worth $ 17.99. I definitely would return for lunch or dinner if I ordered off the menu but I doubt I would ever get their brunch again. I’m sure this place deserves more stars but I give it 3 solely because of how disappointed I was when I saw my bill.

I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. We stopped here for lunch because it was part of the Urban Bourbon Trail. Now, I will say that the food I ordered tasted good and that’s important. However, so much else was lacking that it really detracted from the experience. Food: They have a very large menu which may actually be a problem for them as they didn’t have several of the things I wanted to order. For example, the menu said«Soup and Salad» but did not list what soups they had. Because they don’t have any I found out when I asked what soup they had that day. It really bothers me if you list something on your menu and you don’t ever sell it. Why is it on there? We ordered the samosas for an app. They tasted pretty good but they didn’t have any curry in them which is very strange and something I would consider a «traditional spice» which was part of the menu description. For an entrée I had the«po’ girl» a shrimp sandwich on Cuban bread. This was absolutely not a $ 13.50 sandwich. While the shrimp did taste good the sandwich was poorly constructed, basically just some loose shrimp piled on a cut open loaf of bread with some toppings. Literally a loaf of bread by the way, I didn’t eat the whole thing. My bf had the Banh Mi which was essentially the same as the above description, the flavor of the meat was good though. Drinks: Thumbs way down. Again, I ordered the only thing that looked good to me(the Coco Chi) and oh, surprise, they were out of it. This is something the waitress should have informed us of when we were seated. But again, which such a large menu maybe they are just always out of half of it. I asked her for some sort of warm alternative and she didn’t have one. Service: Definitely not great service. Our waitress seemed totally out to lunch. Didn’t let us know what they were out of on the menu, not very attentive or informative and she seemed like she didn’t really want to be there, or actually she seemed like she didn’t know why she was even there. Atmosphere: Interesting is a good way to put it. It’s a big space(maybe too big, it was quite drafty) and it is full of interesting pieces, from art to furniture to giant doors. Very eclectic but I couldn’t decide if I was in a neat restaurant or someones storage warehouse. The patio area(not open for seating when we were there in December) looked cool but also very cluttered which was weird to walk through. I did peak at the other side of the restaurant(or maybe that was the bar area?) and it looked cool, like maybe I’d like to sit at that bar and have five drinks, but I doubt very much I’ll ever go back. Overall takeaway: Call Jon Taffer

This review is for Ramsi’s Sunday Brunch: Great Googly Moogly, this might be the mist comprehensive, most diverse and most delicious brunch in Louisville! Went with a group of friends recently(Nice bonus: Ramsi’s takes reservations for groups of just about all sizes and was incredibly accommodating) and was blown away by the Brunch Buffet. The set up was stuffed to the Mcgillicuddy’s with fresh traditional breakfast options and complimented with everything from pot stickers to Italian fare to biscuits with sausage and gravy. There is certainly something for everyone. This is no mere boring buffet spread, my friends, And to top it off? Across from the bar is a dessert table that would rival a world-class wedding. I don’t usually spend my mornings nibbling on Carrot Cake, Pecan Pie and Cookies, but I made an exception at Ramsi’s. The bar is open with Mimosa specials and the prefix brunch comes out to about $ 18 a person, if I’m remembering correctly. And some solid table service as well for drinks, dish clearing along with other needs and you’ve got a top notch experience. In short: it was an amazing take on a weekend meal favorite. A top notch buffet that already has me planning on coming back for more!

A-OK is the perfect way to describe Ramsi’s. I’ve been here numerous times and while the meals are always tasty, Ramsi’s is just off. Ramsi’s has a TON of items on their food menu and while that lends itself well to picky eaters, people who have a difficult time making decisions will not do well here. Add to that, I think they try to do too much, which means they’re not really doing exceptionally well at any one of those things. I’ve been here for numerous meals: dinner, lunch, and Sunday brunch. The Sunday brunch is an excellent deal and they have some great mimosas as well. Dinner is a little pricey, and some items on the lunch menu are as well. On my most recent visit, I stopped in for lunch with some work friends. The place was mostly empty but the service was so.incredibly.slow. Our lunch wound up lasting two hours, causing one of my coworkers to miss a meeting. I totally get it if they’re crowded, but it was so empty! As far as food, I had the chicken fajita pita with a side of potatoes, both of which were delicious. As usual with Ramsi’s, I’ll be back if someone in my party REALLY wants to go here, but I’ll never go out of my way or make a special trip here.

This place has a very pretentious vibe to it. It started off with the hostess not willing to seat a table for 1(on a Sunday night with multiple open tables) and being relegated to eat at the bar. Left me with feeling of understanding as to how certain classes of people where treated back in the 50’s Once at the bar it took nearly 10 minutes to be greeted. Whatever. Maybe I’m just being sensitive. as to the food. It was fairly decent. The mixed vegetables where a real treat and by far the best part of the meal. They where exceptional. I had a breaded white fish topped with crab cakes and a wonderful parmesan cheese sauce. The crab and sauce where excellent, however the fish was a bit ‘fishy’ tasting. Not sure what to make of that. Maybe it’s just because it’s a cheap fish? Would I order it again? Probably. I’m sure most people will enjoy coming here.

This was a delightful place to eat for a date night. Everything under the sun on the menu, and what’s more is that they do it well. You hear about restaurants doing fusion or serving several different types of food, and it usually brings up a red flag meaning they will do everything at a mediocre level. However, Ramsi’s really DOES do it well. We ordered a bottle of wine, goat cheese dates, their falafel plate, and a tuna tartare salad on a bed of fried wontons. I can’t say much about the ambiance inside, but the patio was comfortable and large without cramming too many tables everywhere. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, and I was really happy to hear when our server asked HOW we wanted the food to come out — we asked for it all at once. For the two of us, there were six goat cheese-stuffed dates. These were wonderful but really sweet(as expected), but with six, it was pretty hard to finish these. The tuna tartare salad was tasty, especially with the bits of avocado and jalapeño in the tartare. The jalapeño wasn’t too spicy, but added a nice bite. I wouldn’t say the tuna itself was amazing, but with the wasabi aioli and the perfectly-crisp friend wonton strips, the salad was a success. My favorite dish, however, was their falafel platter. It came with a HUGE side of hummus, which was probably some of the best hummus I’ve ever had. Not too heavy on the tahini, but just right, the falafel came with a tomato salad to serve with the sauce and falafel and it was light, warm, the perfect balance of chickpeas and parsley, and covered in heavenly hummus. As well, our waitress informed us if we wanted to come back after our movie, their kitchen is open until 2AM. Two! Great food until the wee hours of the morning? I can’t say I’ll take advantage, but it’s nice knowing it’s an option!

This has been a long time coming. I’ve been here quite a bit in the past few months and generally forget to check in. :-P(I know shame on me!) So let me start with the food. The Bahn Mi is definitely a great place to start, if they have any of the pork left when you visit, and if pork isn’t your thing then Teresa’s Fish sandwich is bomb too. But you HAVEGOTTO try the Samosa as your appetizer(or one of many of their amazing appetizers!). It’s got potatoes and peas with this absolutely to-die-for tamarind dipping sauce. So next let’s talk about drinks bay-bee. If you like Woodford Reserve(and what good Louisvillian doesn’t like Woodford Reserve?) Then you need a Dizzy Ginger in your life. Not like a person with red hair who’s had a few too many shots. No, like this amazing drink with ginger juice/soda/something delicious that is made in house and mixed with the right amount of bourbon. After one you’re feeling good but why stop there when you can get yourself a little dizzy. If you’re not a bourbon fan then they offer loads of other cocktails, wines and a nice beer selection as well. The atmosphere is laid back and it’s in this gorgeous building. While I’ve not been able to eat outside as the weather never permits when I visit, I reccommend it as there is a fountain and loads of great sculptures to look at as well. The inside is rustic and has different pieces that give Ramsi’s its name, Café on The World because you can eat food from pretty much all over as well as see all these wonderful pieces come together without clashing. Make sure you visit here, it’s always laid back and fun.

I normally fear the restaurants that serve too many choices. If you’re doing a lot, are you doing any of it well? Normally the answer is, ‘no’ but with Ramsi’s the answer is yes. I love their brunch but I’d go there for any meal. My coworkers and I go to Ramsi’s once a month before work on a Sunday and we joke that the man who makes the omelets is our boyfriend — he makes us omelets on Sunday mornings and what more do you really want? What more can you ask for besides that? He’s perfect: custom omelet man who doesn’t talk back. I don’t even date men. Their buffet is fantastic too, there are so many choices. Choices for herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, and that political vegan in your friend group that makes everyone stabby. Everyone can eat! There is even pancakes and oatmeal at another table and a huge spread of desserts. Also, the raspberry mimosas go GREAT with those omelets my boyfriend is going to make you. Dinner and lunch? Also fantastic. I normally start with Brie Bernadette(probably the name of my second daughter, if I have any say) or the roasted garlic and goat cheese. What a friend we have in cheeses, all our sins and griefs to bear. I have also never turned down humus and neither should you. One of those choices are a great starting point for their wonderful entrees. If I am eating light I’ll go for the Madam Tussaud’s empanadas or the Bahn Mi sandwich. They took my favorite sandwich off the menu(it was even Vegan!) and I may never forgive them for that. I would eat Polo Nuevo Havana every day until I exploded. It combines cheese, chicken, and jalepenos into a holy trinity of wow. The construction is so simple but the meal is divine. I like their Eggplant Parm better than my father’s(and he’s a trained chef) and the crab cakes are another good choice if you enjoy seafood. I’ve had the Bulgogi and the Empress Chicken and while I’ve had it better other places but it’s still wonderful here. I’ve just realized that I’ve never had dessert here. There is something missing in my life! I have sinned and fallen short. I also like that the wait staff has always been incredible here. The atmosphere is wonderful and no matter what you’re wearing — I’ve worn everything from a tuxedo to a swimsuit — you are neither over or under dressed. I would recommend this place to anyone and if you want to go out to eat and you don’t want to go alone, please contact me. I’ll pretend to be a decent human being to not eat alone.

Holy cow he Jason K was right! Read my tip to understand that I too was skeptical of a place with so many different types of food –how could it l be good? Well guess what? It was. Tempura salmon rocking, garlic bruchetta excellent, falafel great, the other 5 dishes equally good. I can not speak to the service of environment since I ordered through Unilocal delivery and everything came on time and as expected. The variety was staggering and the quality was very good. Very unexpected is all I can say.

Great restaurant! The menu has a lot of options from steaks to seafood. The food quality is excellent and service too. The location is also a plus! I had crab cakes, and it was delicious homemade style. I’ll certainly come back :-)

Great atmosphere and good food. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and we were told 20 minute wait but got in 5 minutes later and it was fantastic. We ate outside and while the server was good she wasn’t extremely friendly but that is acceptable as long as the service was good. I ordered the chicken campanelle pasta and it was a large dish and tasted excellent and my boyfriend ordered the winter salad which was rich and filling and the fruit made the whole dish taste complete. It was quick and delicious and the atmosphere outside was extremely pleasant and relaxing with the fountain.

We came into Louisville for a concert, and this place was recommended to me by a co-worker. There were an abundant number of entrees, but the menu was well-organized and it was not overwhelming. We got a hummus/baba ghonouj/falafel plate for an appetizer and it was big and delicious. I love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, and it’s a little more difficult to find anything except Gyros and Hummus. That said, I did decide to go for the Z-Man Steak with boursin cheese on top, potatoes, and spinach Alfredo. It was also fantastic. My husband got a chicken dish topped with a cheese and jalapenos, and it was very good. Our server was nice, helpful, and had great timing. They rest of the waitstaff was also great as they refilled our waters often and helped clear plates. The atmosphere was fun, kind of kitschy with a lot of global décor. The patio looked nice, but we were in need of some A/C since my car lacks it.

I tend to give Ramsi’s a pass of sorts, since it has something different to offer, food-wise, and it is a staple in the Highlands. But I think it might be time to give up the ghost on this one. The menu is huge. So huge that I don’t know if they can actually handle it. What I say about Ramsi’s to other people is that they do a lot of things kind of ok, but don’t do any one thing spectacularly. And I stand by that. I’ve never eaten anything terrible here, but I don’t have a go-to dish and don’t think anything I *have* had here has been particularly memorable. It has been exceedingly… fine. The best thing they have going for them is their patio space. Service always seems lackadaisical. And on my most recent visit(last night) we ordered our drinks immediately. They included«fresh squeezed juice» so might take a *bit* longer than one might expect for a cocktail. No joke… it was over 45MINTUES before our drinks were FINALLY delivered. After we took our sweet time deciding what food to order… after it took a nice long time for our food to be delivered… AFTER we had eaten close to half of our meals… the server *very rightly* took the drinks off our bill. And I would have liked to have tried another cocktail because they all sound delicious… but I would probably still be there now, waiting for it. The food was solidly fine. Not spectacular, not terrible. The presentation of mine was super messy… but I am going to eat it anyway. Presentation isn’t the number one concern. We also decided to indulge in some dessert. Which came fairly quickly(especially in comparison to everything else that night). BUT… it was set down in front of us… and we had no utensils. More waiting. My friend also ordered a salad to go… and thankfully the server realized that they had forgotten the dressing *before* we left. If I have friends who are adamant that they want to come here to eat, I won’t put up a big fight about it. But I probably won’t be making the decision to come back here.

I’m so sad to write this. Ramsi’s served up the first meal I ate when I moved to Old Louisville, so I have a little twinge that I have to report on lackluster service. The good: The most comprehensive ethnic menu you will find anywhere. Our party consisted of one good ol’ southern boy(Burger), one Indian-cuisine snob(masala), and one«I’ll try anything» guy(Egyptian, please!). We clearly all found awesome menu options, and they were gooood. The prices are right on point, especially for the plethora of food you receive. If a picky eater can’t find a dish here, then that person should be exiled from the culinary world. A definite plus: the location. You can easily walk around the corner and get a coffee from Heine Brothers after dinner, or walk across the street to get to The Back Door for a cocktail. The bad: the service. Aww, the service. Our waitress was curt and often absent. She wasn’t quick to refill drinks, and we definitely waited more than normal for our food. To boot: one of my good friends booked her daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner here months in advance, and when they showed up, the reservation wasn’t honored. Yep, you guessed it — no table for a party of 20 hungry wedding attendants, and on such an important occasion. Then, only 2 waiters were in charge of the entire party. My husband and I were actually booked at Ramsi’s for our own rehearsal dinner, and had to cancel due to their review. Eeep. Fingers crossed for some improvement, I suppose!

They have gotten a new menu which was something I really didn’t like. It was too large and it overwhelms me. Today i ordered Tuna tartar and fish tacos and I was pretty happy with the result. I just a little sad to see the eggplant missing from the menu. It used to be my favorite. There is only one thing i don’t like about Ramsey’s, I’ve heard from past servers the management is horrible. Which is something I care about a lot after being a server in the past. The reason I give them 3 stars instead of two is because they have wonderful dessert. Banana foster!!! Yum! And the food was pretty good!

Visited Ramsi’s for a birthday celebration. There was about 10 people in the party and we had a reservation. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server. She was nice enough a very eclectic looking. I guess she fit the scene of the place since it’s a «world» location. They have a vast menu with many different tastes from around the world. Overall, the food was pretty good — I’ll start there. Unfortunately, we were seated pretty close to the door which made my end of the table uncomfortable as people shuffled in and out of this specific entrance and left us cold. Some things with the food orders were mixed up. Table started with a few appetizers which were all tasty. Somehow there was confusion about how many items were ordered, but she gave the extra appetizer to the table anyways. How nice, right! Entrees were submitted and drinks arrived at the table. Drinks were all pretty good, but the entrees had a few issues. One girls salad was missing the seasonal fruit and the fish I added to my salad was overcooked. Nevertheless, the birthday girl enjoyed her dinner and they did try to make up for mistakes in the orders. It was an overall decent experience and I do plan to visit again.
