Awesome Mexican food! I eat there two days a week… sometimes more. Im always happy with the food. Service can be inconsistent, but certainly not that bad. Go here. You’ll like it.

I’ve never really been super impressed with this place, but Señor Iguanas is good for when you want to mix things up and branch out from the usual El Nopal trip. However, last nights visit was just so awful I don’t think we will ever go back. First off, I know it was cinco de mayo and you’d be crazy to expect good service at any Mexican restaurant on this night, but this one seriously takes the cake. Thats why I gave it an extra star from what I otherwise would have rated. I arrived about 5:30 and after being seated for about 15 minutes went to ask for our server. I figured there would be good drink specials for the holiday, but 6.99 for a margarita in a plastic cup wasn’t exactly a good deal for me. Anyway, service was just awful. Our server has a very large party that obviously was taking up a lot of his time. We got up to go outside and our table was bussed. No big deal, we got fresh chips and salsas. By this time I’d ordered an entrée and my friend got his to go. Once we finally placed our order, it took forever to come out and when it did, it was completely cold. I told the server, and he took it back go have to reheated, but never had brought me any silverware, which id asked for twice. I ended up using the plastic ware out of my friends to go order to eat it before it got cold. Next time we’ll just stick to El Nopal.

I am disappointed! I like the food but I just saw the bartender take a bottle cap from the reservoir under the bottle opener and place it on an open bottle of beer and he put the beer back in the cooler. That reservoir was disgusting. I feel bad for the customer who gets that beer. No telling what bacteria is swimming in it now!

I went for dinner last night with some friends. We were seated right away and someone took our drink order. They have $ 2.99 margaritas that were great! I orders the street tacos. They were so good. It came with a side of beans and rice. The service was quick. They also have a wide variety of margarita flavors. This place was good for the price too! My plate was $ 10 for 3 tacos and 2 sides. I would go back for sure!

Pretty standard Mexican. Our server was nice, but the interior is kind of gross. IMO the menu is slightly overpriced for the quality of food. I had a chicken quesadilla, and my husband had the carne asada burrito. When I got home, I started to feel extremely sick — I can’t be 100 percent positive that the food was to blame, but I probably won’t be back.

Lunch during the work week shouldn’t take over an hour and a half. We were seated before noon and I counted only 2 – 3 other tables. It took 20 minutes for our server to bring drinks and take orders. Since our server had also seated us, it seemed strange to be ignored so long. The food took 40 minutes to come out. My beans and sauces had a skim coat from being under the warmers so long. We asked for our checks when the food was delivered so we could get back to work faster. Still, after we were all done eating we had to flag our server down for to-go containers and our checks. Portions were huge. Presentation was good. They also included a jalapeño ranch dipping sauce that was great. The salsa was fresh and had a nice kick. The red sauce was fair– I have had better. Not planning on returning with so many other options in town. This could have been so much better.

The server’s are extremely nice and the food is usually pretty good, but unfortunately there was a big black hair right on top of my chimichanga right when the plate came to me. I lost my appetite right when I saw it when it came so I sent it back and didn’t order anything else. My past experiences have been fine though. Overall I would recommend it.

From the road it looks a little less than impressive but inside is very cozy, spacious, well kept and decorated with general Mexican restaurant styling. Fish tacos were excellent– though the shell seemed a teensy bit soggy. Another person at the table also commented on that. Service was fantastic and very conscientious. Everything was cooked properly with nice flavoring. The pico de gallo was probably the best I’ve had anywhere. The salsa and tortilla chips were excellent, fresh with just enough spice to make it interesting and the chips were very crispy. I’ll be back again soon.

Going to be as kind as possible. Lunch for 10 coworkers shouldn’t be a big deal. 1) The lost the reservation(made the same day 2 hrs before we arrived) 2) Restaurant was less than 20% full and service was SCARYSLOW! Every single part of it from our beverages to food to checks. Its like they were walking in molases 3) My Queso Fundito was delicious except for the pound of cilantro put on as garnish. OVERKILL! 4) I hate paying $ 1.00 for a TINY side of sour cream. That’s about all I have. There are a trillion mexican restaurants in Louisville. Go somewhere else unless its free.

I ate there this evening. The enchiladas supreme was really, really good. The atmosphere was also very nice and promoted a pleasant experience. I would recommend if you are in the area.

I went to the location in Central Station. Decent, but uneven service. Decent, salty, but not bad food. Could’ve been better. Good value for money. So, by Louisville standards where people will eat gravel because Louisville is a «foodie» town, it’s A OK

Was my go to good mexican place. But I received some poor fajitas and won’t be back. Salty mess. I asked for redo on order and was given some grief, eventually got a Togo remake and it was still salty. I recommend you find a a place that respects customers. Salsa is 2 stars by itself, but rest is so poor I gave it 0 stars.

Had to arrange dinner for our group of fifty teens on short notice… Jorge took our reservations and made some suggestions that made the evening run smoothly and food was simple, fast, and very tasty. We appreciated the private party room, the kids could even play their music from their phones on their sound system! Also had a parking lot big enough for our bus.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious Sunday afternoon meal there. We both left with full bellies(which is an accomplishment for any restaurant). My chicken chimichanga was superb and we received our food very quickly. Excellent food and service!

Truly the best Mexican food in Louisville! I eat here multiple times a week and it’s the fact that everything is made there in the restaurant makes it a truly authentic Mexican restaurant! The salsa is nice and chunky– not just pureed tomatoes like some places, this salsa has onions and cilantro and you have to try the«salsa blanca» a ranch-type salsa made with mayo, cumin, garlic and red pepper – yum! The rice has a touch of veggies in it and goes awesome with the beans! My favorite dish is the enchilada rancheros…3 cheese enchiladas topped with succulent pork and covered with peppers, onions and ranchero sauce. Truth be told, anything you order with pork in it is going to be delicious! I also love the chile rellenos! Truly the best in town! The cheese dip is homemade– never watery or runny. If burritos are more your style then try the burrito loco– a huge burrito stuffed with diced steak, guac and beans then smothered in cheese sauce. They also offer authentic Mexican tacos for those who enjoy soft corn tortillas with cilantro and onion… don’t worry, they also have traditional tacos as well. The food is awesome, the staff is friendly and there is never a wait!

Just deplorable. Our server, Brian, a nice enough guy but terrible server. He was inattentive and slow. I ordered a drink on the rocks and it came out frozen. Menu is typical Mexican. I had a taco salad and my sister got a burrito platter. Mine was nothing special while she absolutely loved hers. Another extra long wait for the bill and then came the fun. They have their coupon for buy one lunch entrée get the second one for free. This was a huge issue, Brian said his manager makes them add sodas to the orders, and the coupon itself said nothing about that. We asked for a manager 3 times and was told multiple stories. The end result was a $ 5 discount, pissed off customers, and a one star rating. We will NOT ever go back.

Absolutely great service. Great food good prices. Coupon for buy 1 «entrée and 2 drinks» get 1 entrée free doesn’t apply to lunch entrée apparently. but they gave us $ 4off instead at least. Tacos were a little heavy with the onions, waitress who brought chips and salsa didn’t understand what«limes» were but other than … that perfect experience :) Love the décor esp the booths… remind me of a Frieda kahlo painting

My husband and I eat here regularly and love it. The portions are good and the margaritas are tasty. My favorite is the fajita nachos, so yummy. It is a nice to go on a spring or summer day and sit outside and enjoy your meal, especially with a drink!

Wasn’t impressed. We ordered the chicken fajitas for two. They came out borderline warm(certainly not sizzling) and were just mostly mashed up overcooked not very fresh veggies. Have been to the other Señor Iguanas locations several times and usually very good experiences but not this time at this location.

My sister wanted to go here for her birthday because she heard good things about the restaurant. It took a while for the server to approach our table, which should have been our first clue. We ordered a large queso dip and we were really underwhelmed. It came in a small dish and was so liquidity and runny that it wasn’t enjoyable. My sister ordered the vegetarian fajitas and this is when it gets good… Usually fajitas are fresh veggies including peppers and onions and it’s heated on a skillet — the veggies came out of a frozen bag including crinkled carrots and cauliflower(with no peppers) and it was on a room temperature plate! When we told the waiter and cashier about this miserable experience, they had no response and didn’t even try to make the situation better. Plus there was no free birthday cake or even ice cream! We definitely won’t be back.

This is A OK. This would have been a 4 but I was not impressed with service. Very little conversing. One person’s main entrée came out before the others which was a little weird but the other wait was not long. Then the rest of the entrée came out piece by piece. Have not decided on the fajitas yet. Allot of places chicken is more caramelized and seasoned so you don’t taste chicken as much. This was more authentic. I liked it but not sure if better than others. Salsa is very good. Queso is not bad. Similar to many others. Cheese enchiladas were good. Red sauce was thicker than most and had a spicy kick to it bad not too hot. I liked the fact the restaurant itself was roomy and more private. Allot of establishments are cramped and you feel like you are right on top of others. If you get there by 5pm on a Friday no wait! After that more and more people piled in.

Not my first place to go for Mexican but not a bad place and with a few changes it could be amazing. First thing you notice is wow that salsa has a kick to it or atleast the one I got was too hot to eat. I like spicy food and a little heat is a good thing, but I was unable to eat the salsa it was so hot. Flavor seemed good but I wasn’t able to eat enough. Also had a white dipping sauce, some kind of mayo. The service was good, very attentive even when the place was slow and sometimes that is when service suffers, but not here. My food came out quickly. Chicken taco and chicken chimichanga. My main complaint with this place was quality of meat. Maybe it is just how it is prepared or actual quality but I would rather have pieces of chicken rather than tough shredded chicken. Even when chicken is shredded it can be tough. The flavors were great on both, portion was large as expected. Overall I liked the place but with they went the extra mile and use the meat they use at Chuy’s. The meat quality is the only thing I like about Chuy’s but seems to be the only thing missing here… oh and some milld salsa. Nice place that could be around for a while with a few changes.

I went here for lunch, and my carne asada burrito was outstanding. Perfectly sized. The Spanish rice was the best I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Highly recommended…

Honestly, a 3.5 and that’s only due to mediocre service. Our waiter seemed incredibly disinterested and could of cared less if we were there or not, his tip reflected that attitude as well. On to the good stuff! The chips & salsa were very good and had a good kick to them. I had the carne asada burrito, minus the lettuce, and thought it was very good. The carne burrito also came with rice & beans and they did a good job on those as well. Wifey had the chicken burrito and enjoyed it too. Kari had the beef burrito and really liked it as well. Honestly the food gets a 4 and the service was about a 2 but I won’t penalize their stars due to one server’s incompetence. Definitely recommend you give it a try!
