Sher’s

I am shocked to see any rating over a two for this place. The dresses were extremely limited, we weren’t allowed to look at/​pick them out — our consultant had to bring out what she thought I would like. The truth was, I told her what I was looking for and they didn’t have anything close. Instead of telling me that, she just kept bringing out piles of lace (I didn’t want a lace gown). The lighting was terrible, the consultant was not friendly and just didn’t get it. The owner walked in twice and looked like she had just woke up from a nap and was rude.
EVERYONE treated my male guest, my best friend and Man of Honor, like DIRT here.
Probably more important than anything else, the dresses they brought me were ALL more than my price range (which I was told wouldn’t be a problem on the phone, $ 2000 max). This is a range that dresses are available, it isn’t «cheap» and every single dress was more than that. That is absurd.
We made an appointment and went on the weekend, the shop was empty with only one other bride there and she was being fitted for alterations. There was NO excuse for the way we were treated. In addition to that, the store itself is run down. This is not the experience that anyone should have when looking for a gown and I would recommend you try Rebecca’s Bridal (WONDERFUL and the boutique experience I expected at Sher’s) or even Bridal Warehouse (which had tons of gowns, great prices, and incredibly friendly staff).
Rude from the minute we walked in the door, I shut the appointment down about 20 minutes early. I couldn’t and wouldn’t stay there any longer and certainly would not give the rude staff and owner my business.

Even though I did not find my dress at this shop I give it 5 stars! The dresses I tried on were amazing, just a little out of my price point. I went in for a special show, they had the whole line from a designer that I love. I was set on not spending more than $ 400 and they just did not have what I was looking for in my price point. However, they had some amazing dresses that would make anyone feel like a Bride! The shop girl was attentive and spent the time to get to know me and find out what I was looking for. This was the first shop that I visited, and I would certainly recommend it to any of my sisters or friends for their Formal or Wedding Dress.

Amazing experience! My BFF is getting married and we came here after a not so great experience at some of the bigger places in town. Sher and her staff have been amazing and we said yes to the dress today!!!

This place is FANTASTIC! The most helpful staff ever when it comes to gowns! I needed a gown for my daughter’s wedding. Let’s just say that I absolutely hate to go shopping so I put off going to look for a gown until the last minute. What a dummy I am! And how lucky I am to have found this place because they SAVED ME! They sold me a dress off the rack at a discount since I didn’t have time to order the dress. By the way, the correct way to find a gown for any occasion is to go shopping at least 6 months prior to the event so that you have time to order your gown, have it fitted and tailored if needed. Yeah, so not me. So I fit several gowns off the rack but the one I chose the lady at the shop said «That’s the one!» when I walked out in it. Boy was she right and Oh My Goodness did I look SMASHING!!! Pretty sure my husband just fell into a completely new level of infatuation ;) with me when he saw me in it at the wedding! I also can’t even tell you how many complements I received! I felt like a million bucks that night and so very proud to stand next to my beautiful, stunning daughter and handsome hubby! Best experience ever!!!

My mother ordered two bridesmaid dresses from Sher’s for my sister and I. Sher’s was dishonest and not up front about the total price for both dresses. The price on the tag of the dress that was tried on and ordered was different than the price they ended up charging my mother. They did not tell her this until after they had already charged her for one dress (when she thought she was purchasing two). When confronted, Sher’s was extremely rude and dishonest — stating that the dress which was tried on and ordered had been discontinued (which was not the case whatsoever I learned directly from the manufacturer). After sending my measurements for my dress, Sher’s wanted to put me in a size bigger than what coincided with my measurements on the manufacturer size chart. My mother, knowing better, requested a size smaller. Because she differed from their opinion, Sher’s marked it as a «special order» (without telling her) when there was nothing «special» about it (no rush to process, ship, special sizing or color, etc.) After receiving and trying on my dress (which still ended up being too large as was confirmed by my seamstress), I called Sher’s to see if there was time to exchange it for a size or two smaller (at the recommendation of my seamstress). They were extremely rude and derogatory to me on the phone, calling me «a little girl», referring to my seamstress as incompetent since she recommended a smaller size, asking me if I was wearing undergarments or not (saying they would stuff my bra to make it fit), saying there was nothing they could do because it was a «special order», and that the dress sizes only went down one more size when in fact it went down three more sizes (again I learned from the manufacturer). I finally spoke with the owner who told me to ship the dress back pinned and she would have her alterations person work on it. When I asked how much that would cost, she could not give me a concrete price. When I brought up the dishonesty about the total price of the dresses she then responded with the lie that the dress had been discontinued. I used my trusted local seamstress to perform the alterations as I did not feel I could trust or withstand any further nasty treatment from the employees of Sher’s. I have never been treated so rudely by any store employee or company in all my life.

My mom took me here to get a dress for my beach wedding in Mexico. Everything was perfect, the service, selection, alterations, price. I had heard nightmare stories about the big chain stores (David’s Bridal, House of Brides) and really wanted to avoid the big pouffy ugly run-​of-​mill dresses, high pressure sales pitch and high prices. Sher’s was perfect, even gave me, my mom and stepmom to just look around ourselves to get started with ideas.
I highly recommend Sher’s! They get busy, so call ahead and make an appointment.
