Cool place. Good vibe and good coffee thanks guys. The Colombia was good. I was skeptical at first sip but as I drank it the roast came through and was very good.

Every time I have a late from Sunergos coffee, it’s like the first time. This establishment made me realize how great coffee can be, especially in the morning. First off, this location is in the Southend. Besides two Starbucks locations, you can’t get a latte in the Southend of Louisville. That alone is impressive. The décor here is great. The chairs are all mismatched and comfortable. There is a rotating wall of local art that is always interesting and beautiful. If you like espresso and lattes, this is the best place in Louisville to have them. They perfectly mix the flavors together, and the milk froth on top is always in a perfect balance. At the beginning of what I envision as a long work day, I grab a Dirty Chai Latte(Chai latte + a shot of espresso) and it never fails to pick me up. The prices are right on par with Starbucks and Heine Bros, but the welcome I get in the morning is always a bit more local. The music played in Sunergos is always something I have on a playlist, or will be stealing for a future playlist. In summary, this place is a jewel in the Southend of Louisville. Have a cup of coffee, relax in a comfortable place, and make sure to come back.

I stopped in the downtown location and after ordering my vanilla latte, I noticed the counter sign for the Iced Rosemary Latte– and made a mental note… next time… next time. Happily, about a week later, I happened to be by the Woodlawn location and I thought — I need a drink. Voila! The Rosemary Latte was mine. It was Delish! Then I though, who would think to stick rosemary in your coffee? These guys! And this gal loved it. Definitely try this!

This is by far my favorite coffee shop. I grew up in the neighborhood so it is so awesome to me to have such a cool place in a part of town that doesn’t see a lot of love. I remember coming here when it was Potato Man comics and buying Pokemon cards(they still have the sign in the back, which I appreciate!) The atmosphere is pretty quiet, but not to the point where you’re uncomfortable having a conversation. There’s lots of mid century-esque décor, and always neat local art on the walls. There’s comfy seating if you feel like lounging, and larger tables if you need to meet with a group. They roast their coffee in the back which adds to the experience, and ups the«local» factor. The best part of Sunergos though, in my opinion, is the staff! The baristas are always above and beyond friendly, and I never feel rushed when deliberating what to order. And they are very skilled in what they do– think pretty designs in the drink’s foam, and accurately crafted cappuccinos(I’m a stickler for the correct foam/milk ratio in cappuccinos, sue me). If you’re a coffee fan and a sucker for ambiance(like me!) you’ll love Sunergos!

Ohhhh geez. If I could have a coffee spirit animal, Sunergos would undoubtedly be it. After having their coffee at a local place in Southern Indiana, I set up a coffee date at Sunergos with a gal friend. I had previously visited the location on Preston, but we went to the other location for this morning; unlike Preston, which is a little too hipster for me, this location was full of laid back creative types, business meetings, and people of all ages. Definitely more my vibe. I ordered a medium latte, which was delivered with beautiful coffee art…(it’s the little things in life!). Sunergos manages to pack a punch with their coffee without being bitter, and the overall finish is a little nutty, rich, and smoky. Unlike some other roasters in town, I don’t get the shakes after my latte, ha! I have not tried their drip coffee yet, but plan to do so soon, as each location has bagged coffee for sale in addition to merch. This is the absolute best place treat yourself to a study session, delicious coffee roasted here in town, and have a quiet moment to yourself. Coffee Mecca, no doubt.

*Update* I was given a gift card to try them again because of my previous so-so drink. I must admit, my prior experience must have been a one off. Today I got a white mocha. The drink was both beautiful and delicious. We will definitely be coming back. I’m not saying this because I got a gift card, either… I adore my coffee, and this was certainly no exception. Thank you for convincing me to return Their drinks aren’t bad, just… Watered down it seems. I wasn’t extremely impressed, but it wasn’t a situation where it was disgusting either.

Absolutely amazing coffeehouse. Delightful baristas and cozy atmosphere make it a favorite for Saturday mornings and weekday evenings. Great place to interact with locals or just observe the clientele. Coffee is wonderful and blended drinks are delicious!

Hands down, my favorite coffee shop. We grind and brew them every day at home, and I stop in as often as my schedule allows. I love coming here for reading days, to work or meet up with people. We’ve been frequenting Sunergos for over 7 years now, and I honestly blame them for making me care about the coffee I drink. My all time favorite was a single time availability, the Ethiopian Tchembe. Oh. My. Word. It smelled like fresh baked blueberry muffins when you brewed it. It demanded a trip through my Chemex rather than the olé drip machine. Usually, though, we stick to the Tanzanian Peaberry for daily drinking. Once every few bags, we’ll toss in the Sumatra Mandhelin to mix it up. Leave the nasty, burnt, sugar-loaded national coffee chain aside and hang out here. You won’t regret it.

Louisville’s got it’s fair share of killer coffee spots, and I’m making a point to eventually spend some time in most of them. But, this place is my go-to. The coffee is excellent. The staff are friendly. The décor and atmosphere are inviting, if a little quirky thanks to its hodgepodge furniture. Know that if you see several people on laptops and want to do anything on wi-fi, their bandwidth can get a little crowded. But that’s a minor concern to me, given how much this place excels at being a great coffee house. Definitely check it out if you’re in or around Beechmont.

This is my first visit here. I normally stop in for a delicious treat near my brother Brad’s house over near Eastern Pkwy. I really enjoyed the location and the banter with the Barristas. It’s the best coffee in town that I have found. This location is in a very fun location and right across from Beechmont Bombshells where they do an awesome job with haircuts and colors. If you are looking for coffee drinks a notch above the rest in town then this is your place! I first met the owners of Sunergos over in New Albany when they helped with the Rainbow Blossom setup. The two guys I met couldn’t have been nicer. At that time in my life I didn’t even drink coffee, now I just adore a nicely roasted bean! I believe you will fall in love with the coffee here. I love caramel, but I ask for it with less pumps as it can be too sweet and hide the amazing coffee flavor.

Well, aside from some of the Sojourn church crowd that works there and that’s taken over the place and trying to take over the neighborhood, not bad. It’s not as good as Highland Coffee because Highland is above all others in the city but it’s second best. Sunergos recognizes local art. I only have time to purchase my drink because I’m always on the go and usually in a hurry when I swing by. I’ll bring my MacBook and LSAT materials in for a study sesh soon. Sunergos is in my neck of the woods and is on my way out before I jump on the expressway to head to my destinations. It’s easy access to the Expressway and I’m especially happy that they’ve paved their back parking lot.

I roast my own coffee, and this place knows what they are doing. Hat’s off to Sunergos. Excellent coffee. Fresh, roasted right there at the location and great staff. Brought two co-workers that like Starbucks… They both asked if we can go there in the morning before going to the client, and even maybe stopping again on the way home. That speaks volumes. LOVELOVELOVE Sunergos.

Let me start by saying something absurd when reviewing a coffee house, I don’t like coffee. Never have. I did, however, really, REALLY enjoy the iced mocha that I got at Sunergos. Loved it. I want one right now. On a cold, rainy, Saturday morning with the marathon taking place down the street, the fairly large room was pretty empty. Only a handful of people were enjoying drinks and chatting. The music was good and at a reasonable level(some of the other reviews have noted the high volume, but I didn’t experience that). It was warm, both temperature and welcoming as well as funky with an eclectic mix of furniture and lighting from across the decades. The art isn’t much to ponder, but whatever. Everything was clean and really well-kept. The menu is straightforward and you don’t have to ask for things in Italian. The baristas were extremely friendly and smiled pretty much the whole 30 minutes I was there. I wasn’t staring them down or anything, but when I would glance up from my reading, there were happy teeth! If I did like coffee, I would love Sunergos. Even though I don’t like coffee, I still really like Sunergos.

I came here yesterday for a business meeting but got stood up. Rather than leave, I grabbed a table since I had some paperwork with me. I’m so glad I did! I enjoyed a delicious caramel latte and time to myself to get stuff down. The atmosphere was friendly, warm and relaxed. It made me wish this was closer to my office! I would definitely come back!

It makes me chuckle a bit looking back on it, but some of my high school senior pictures were taken at this Sunergos. I chose the place, though, because the Woodlawn location was my go-to study/hangout coffee shop as I went to high school in the south end. «My» drink is an iced vanilla latte made with almond milk. I’ve sipped on many a vanilla lattes and Sunergos’s remains supreme. I also recommend their Café Miele(a latte blended with cinnamon and honey.) If you aren’t a fan of coffee, Sunergos offers smoothies, teas, hot chocolate etc, My favorite tea(from the extensive list) is the blueberry rooibos. My younger sister always gets a strawberry smoothie and they are delicious– made with ice cream I believe. Speaking of ice cream, don’t even get me started on the mocha shake… Just try it. With shops like this in town, it is beyond me why anyone in Louisville would choose to frequent chains like Starbucks. If you want great, honest coffee/tea, go to Sunergos. Oh, and they have wifi and plenty of outlets: p

I always feel welcome and warm here. The color scheme is so pleasing that I took my color palette for my home directly from their walls. They care about coffee. However, they aren’t assholes about it. They offer the right amount of sweet treats to accompany your coffee. They have small pieces of «café please and thank you» cakes wrapped in cellophane and ready to be nibbled on with your beautifully roasted coffee. The furniture is perfectly mid century with no one decade over represented. I feel like I’m home here and can relax as if it is my own living room. I’m not taking off my shoes and putting my feet up on the coffee table, but I have a feeling it would be okay. Different groups meet at this location. I know of at least one knitting group and there are other groups of gamers and old coffee aficionados that enjoy the atmosphere here. This is my favorite first date place. I know that it’s close enough to my home that I can escape. I also know that if the date goes well there’s Annie’s Café right next door to extend our time together. I frequently find Starbucks coffee tastes over roasted. I have never had a bitter cup here. They bring the right flavors from the bean.

Sunergos be all like, «We got good coffee.» And I be all like, «Oh yeah?» And they were all like, «Yeah.» So then I was all like, «OK.» And wouldn’t you know it? They had good coffee. Some of the best in the city, yo. So get off yo rear end and get on down to Sunergos. The Preston Hwy one is more hipster and students. The Woodlawn one is bigger and less of the above. I prefer Preston.

Support your local small businesses! Sunergos won America’s Best Espresso for a reason! The flavors of their coffee roasts are unique and delicious. Blend B and Guatemala Antigua are my favorites so far. Beyond the coffee quality, the atmosphere is wonderful. If we had more places like this in Beechmont we could give neighborhoods like the Highlands and St Matthews a run for their money!

The Sunergos on Woodlawn Avenue is perhaps the homiest of the Louisville coffee establishments I’ve been to. And I’ve been to many. Would you like a comfy chair to sink into? Or perhaps you’re with a group of friends and you’d like to pull several chairs and tables together to make an area your own? You won’t be offending any pre-planned furniture arrangement by doing so – or not one that can’t be easily put back anyway. Most of the furniture is mismatched. I love the array of mid-century-modern, formica tables. And this all works to create an atmosphere that is memorable and comfortable, one that doesn’t take itself too seriously — as some coffee shops are wont to do – yet doesn’t look like it was pulled together over a weekend. It’s warm and relaxed. It works. But perhaps enough with the interior design. «What about the coffee?» you may ask. I have not had a bad brew at this establishment. The baristas have always been polite. Sometimes there’s only one person both taking orders and filling them, which can lead to a wait, but you can tell they’re working as fast as they can. If you want food, I noticed that this Sunergos carries baked goods from Please and Thank You — can’t go wrong there. And you can see them roasting beans through the window into the back of the shop. It’s kind of gratifying to drink coffee that may have been roasted under the same roof. All in all, a great establishment.
